Good grief, I hope they aren't bullshots, as really how beautifully rendered is Mario Kart 8. One has to squint a bit to see the details, but look at the bike Mario is riding, or the details on that tram. In any matter the reveal of this track has spurred me a bit to make a Mario Kart topic on the forum. Not only for my never ending quest to save... erm.. get a dedicated Nintendo section on UVGF, but also to share the love of this game and the joy that can be had by all.

Looks like a lot of fun. I can't see enough detail in the pics to really judge, but I'm assuming it will look spiffy. Nintendo always polishes their titles. When's it coming out?

Looks great. Any lingering worries over the Wii U's ability to produce stunning looking games went out the door when DKC Tropical Freeze came out.
 
Looks great, but what's with the aliasing in the pics?
 
I keep going back and forth, I might buy a Wii U again just for this game. (wouldnt mind playing Donkey Kong and Mario 3D, already played New Super Mario Bro's and Luigi DLC then sold my Wii U shortly after)

It is there to help our good "Friends" at Digital foundry to count the pixels. You see Nintendo and their fans love to help people and the less fortunate. Especially the creatively less fortunate need our compassion. So for them Nintendo provides plenty of pixels to count so they can be very happy all day counting them.

Isn't that lovely?

You sold your Wii U after knowing there is a Wonderful title like Wonderful 101 out there? AND NOT PLAYING IT!? For shame brother! Repent BROTHER! Come forth and testify! ;)
 
Sold mine too while I stood to lose very little. While this and a few other games look great, there is not enough to justify owning a console for yet sadly. Maybe when the new Zelda releases, as I figure by then the Wii U will be $200.

A price drop and Zelda will make things just fine.

As long as the final version has proper AA, Digital Foundry can do all they please.

Yeah but I doubt its happening anytime soon, they already had a price drop. $250 and I probably I would have bought one already with Mario 3d, $200 and there would be no hesitation.

I never said they don't matter, I just am saying they matter little when the rest of the game is fun. But please do not turn this into a console warrior thread, I'm certain that desire can be filled one of the many other threads on this forum :).
 
hmm I was never aware pixel count is what made a game fun. Suppose clunky controls, buggy software in 900p is the new "fun"

Cant wait for some MP action this spring
