I played through all of them. They are fantastic games but are a huge time investment. Can't see myself going back and playing them again regardless of graphical upgrades. Feel pretty much the same way with all of these remasters.

If I had more time, I would. I still replayed KOTOR and KOTOR II every couple of years, and I did replay the older ME games the month or so before a new one came out. Might not for Andromeda if 2 and 3 don't hit BC, but a remastered version might actually hook me.

Jade Empire just got released for iOS. I'd love a remaster of that. Or better yet, a sequel. No hope for that, though.

At this point in time, any game series that hasn't been remastered yet should be working on making it Scorpio/Neo-worthy types of remasters. It would be a disappointment to have an old title redone part-ways rather than push it fully to 4K material. It can still work on the X1/PS4 scaled down so they can reach full userbase potential. It just seems a remaster should show off the latest tech available to give the game the highest leap of improvement from the original.

What I'm trying to say is that I feel the window has now closed for remastering an old title specifically for the PS4 and X1 only.

Yes, I hope it would be a Neo/Scorpio-level remaster. Later in the interview, the exec talks about wanting to "do it right," so maybe that bodes well:

"A remaster is something that you can just do or do it really well. I want to make sure that if we were to do it, we would do it really well and that people feel that it's the same game but it feels so much better in this new shape and form. There have been titles that have come out that have done it really well, and there have been others that maybe haven't done it so well. We just want to make sure that we stay in the 'done it really well' camp."

I would have been interested in this if it released like 6 months ago. I just finished up my 4th (?) playthrough of ME1 a few months ago and will be playing ME2 again before finally getting to ME3.

I know... I've played through ME 2 1/2 times. I'm not sure I'm up for another run. I might be, if the improvements were big enough. I wouldn't be in any rush, though.

With that kind of power ME3's ending could have even more colors!

Cool. But i really don't know how they expect me to play all these remasters on top of all the other games coming out. I mean.. Batman collection, BioShock collection and Skyrim remaster still to come. Now Mass Effect also?

Yeah, but then it doesn't leave anything for the 4K remaster of the re-mastered version...

I'd never bother with ME remasters, but for anyone who didn't play them, do it. Especially if EA doesn't get greedy and charge full price for them. But let's say ME games are $30, or a trilogy pack comes out for $60. Seems worth it to me.

ME 1 was a great game hampered by awfully choppy gameplay and motion blur on steroids. If that game had a reasonably smooth game engine, I'd give it a 10/10. But with the clunky engine that struggled on 360, I'd give it an 8.

No joke, sometimes traversing the planet in the buggy or the final boss fight, you could count the frames per second.

Here's hoping for 1080p/60fps! That would be fantastic.

Yeah, it would have to be the whole trilogy for $60, like the Halo or Uncharted collections.

There is one major reason to revisit ME 2...

Had this been an actual part of the game I may never have finished. Well, *I* would have finished but maybe not completed the game.

EA doesn't need remasters. They got Madden and FIFA and NHL rehashes every year.

So just let 2 and 3 go bc then

Yeah. Maybe even give them out as a bonus for pre-ordering and/or purchasing Andromeda. The only thing better than having the game is having it digitally.

I think they'll still go back and remaster them at some point, maybe after Andromeda is off their plate and they have manpower to spare (or they could always farm it out). I think the first guy spoke out of turn and Moore cut it off because it might interfere with their intended focus on Andromeda.

But it'll happen eventually. Too much cash to be made. It's not EA's style to pass up an opportunity to make some money.

This is disappointing. I really could use a Mass Effect Trilogy remake. But I agree with Andy. EA never misses an opportunity to make some extra cash so I expect a remaster somewhere down the road. Maybe in between the Next Dragon Age game and after Andromeda. But if I were trying to hype up Andromeda I'd have put out a remastered trilogy this year to puff up Andromeda's release next year.

Yeah but 3 still leaves a sour taste for many. So why risk putting people off?
