Yes, plus as I said before, it’s really the main complaint left, and it’s being intensified by fanboys on both sides, much like the resolution wars.
Had this been MS in 2015, there certainly wouldn’t have been lovely articles like this:

I still believe changing course after the X1 reveal took a lot of time and effort that they didn’t plan on. Maybe one day we’ll get the full story of what happened, but I think that’s where most of their resources went. Well that and BC.

And for all these mistakes, Xbox has still managed to grow. It seems their goal is different than Sony and Nintendo. I’m not saying better games aren’t part of it, I just don’t think that has been the focus (obviously).

I’ll be more concerned if they have nothing significant to show at E3, but I’m expecting some surprises. Jez said today he is getting achievements on a game he can’t talk about, so he has a fully playable copy of something that hasn’t even been announced yet.

And you better believe I’m going to do my best to get Phil hammered and have him spill everything.

Then I will dole out info in tiny bits, akin to sugar packets, but ONLY after someone correctly answers a
series of progressively more difficult questions about houseplants.

I agree and disagree, even if they aren't ready (meaning won't be out before next E3) they need to at least show gameplay even if it's just an in game trailer. If they just show CGI the narrative will be that those games are at least 2 years away if not longer and by that time the PS5 will be what's getting all of the attention.

But here is how you know it’s real. A retailer is not going to have made up sequel placeholders like that unless they are given to them. We are a month out. All those things are very real unless someone in charge of the website ccreated that.
 
Placeholders are not really all of the official upcoming releases, just from notes they get from some early internal announcements. "Forza Horizons 5" anyone? Yeah, I think that title just about sums up how seriously we should all be taking the leaked material.

Did you see Bethesda's latest tweet today? It's a tease of Rage 2. Definitely makes it more likely that Walmart screw up was real.

Rage 2 definitely couldn't have been predicted out of the blue.

No, but let me clarify. I absolutely think it's "real", but most are just placeholders, and not at all indicative of the entire release schedule going into the fall. That's why they screwed up the name Forza Horizon by putting an S on the end and giving it a numeral 5 instead of 4. They don't have anything close to a complete list, and most big publishers wouldn't trust them with full titles yet... cuz leaks.

Oh it won’t be the entire thing, but all those games from that list will be announced for sure. The most shocking for me is Gears 5.

The only that would be surprising would be because of Halo and people thinking its coming fall 2019 but its not like we know that is happening. 3 years for Gears is what most people would have originally expected.
 
I think the Gears 5 will actually be Gears spin-off. A smaller, single player focused ODST like game.

Sony already has announced games or just released games from most of their studios so it's probably going to be a little while before any major surprises are announced, well that is unless Japan studio or a deal with a 2nd party has something to surprise us. MS is kind of in the same boat although 343 should be in a position to show something now (we all know it's halo though) and the coalition is probably working on a gears game.

I can sort of understand Sony not introducing a new IP as Horizon came out last year, Days Gone and Death Stranding were announced a while ago, Ghost of Tsushima was announced late last year and God of War saw major changes. Really they have a lot of new stuff, we are just waiting on it to be released.

I don't know if any of that recent investment MS has been talking about since last year would be in a place to show yet, hopefully we do see something new but I wonder if it's still too early for any of those projects to be announced.

Anyone else think Xbox May get a blazeblue announcement or other Japanese game franchise that appeared on the 360 but their sequels have yet to bless the One with their presence?

I'm not sure about Blazblue. I've always bought the games on 360 and love them, but they've been really inconsistent and late releasing new versions on Xbox this gen. Blazblue Cross Tag Battle is going to release on PS4, Switch and PC..but not on Xbox (*slap).

Personally, I would prefer to see Persona 5 and Yakuza go to Xbox. I played Persona 5 last week and love it. It's just a really stylish and fun anime rpg story to sink your teeth into.

I think (and hope) the Japan announcement is Kingdom Hearts Collection. However I think the days of having Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey type exclusives on the Xbox are over unfortunately.

Which is kind of unfortunate. LO definitely deserves a current sequel. That would be phenomenal in today's market. Xbox could use its own Japanese RPG exclusive. I'd buy it religiously..
... Of course, I probably wouldn't finish them either but I'd feel super tingly every time I saw them in my RtD que! Those are worth $60 alone.
