And games games games games games games games.....That show was pretty darn good, from my perspective. It was all about commitment.
Yep.Did Sony lock down Red Dead marketing? I figured we would see it at the xbox presser.
The sound quality and visual display is really on point. I'm not sure if the streams communicate this exactly...

So yeah, I think they said it either uses pre-existing data or machine learning to cut the delivery times for playability in half. What's really interesting, is that the head of Xbox Game Pass is the one to drop that info. Will either Game Pass games or first party titles get preferential treatment?...
Same can be said about 360/PS3 last gen.I've always been surprised at how long it takes to play games on X1X compared to PS4, for a software company MS sure is lagging behind Sony in areas like how long it takes to start playing a game once you start to download it and the ease of using the share features. The menu on the One X is also a lot clunkier than the one on the PS4 Pro as well, it hangs up a lot more for some reason.
You realize Xbox does have fortnite , right ? You know the game that all the pros athletes even play. What other games would you actually even be interested in?This was kind of a weird conference.
I wonder how many people would have picked up an XBox One back in 2013 if you told them "This generation all you're really going to get are more Halo, Gears, and Forza for the duration of the gen."
I mean, did Microsoft establish a single new IP that will take them into the next gen with the One?
What an odd odd idea.

I guess it was worse than we all thought, last year and before? I mean, I still thought the show this year was was really great, but you are correct about new IPs. all the acquisitions as an announcement seems like a more recent approach to their whole commitment mantra, with regards to your new IPs.This was kind of a weird conference.

Yeah, I mean this year they released State of Decay two and Sea of theives. Maybe not what everybody wanted, but those are still attempts. MS has tried a number of times, huge success or not.I get what you’re saying. But that’s not all I got with the Xbox One.
I’m surprised to see some of the bigger Xbox fans disappointed and some PS fans kind of impressed.
Not really sure there will be a next gen. From what Phil has stated, we should see at least the Xbox One X compatible with the next Xbox as well and game working on both. So I think we are good to go as is.The platform looks far more compelling going into next gen. No real lift in system wars/list wars this gen since Gears, Forza and Indies no longer count. Xbox fans are too sensitive to that stuff.
Multiplat developers are hitting a high point this gen. For anyone who’s a gamer and not obsessed with list wars, the X is a great platform with the best multiplats, enhanced back compat, 1st release for some good Indies and Game Pass. There will be 100s of games on both platforms.
Exclusives will be far more critical in 3 years when Microsoft wants to leverage their investment in AI, physics, cloud compute and support Game Pass. 1st party barely will move the needle the next 2 years.
Kudos to Sony for setting the bar with story driven games. Anyone hoping that Microsoft was going to bring out haymakers to end this gen and equal that were unrealistic.
There was also Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break. Just because they didn't turn out to be AAA world busters doesn't mean they sucked. MS has just shown a tendency to abandon IPs that don't immediately resonate with the masses.I would just assume, back in 2013, that we'd still get a handful of new AAA exclusive IP born this generation from MS. It doesn't look like we're getting that.

Regardless of how it turns out, they also committed to bringing CD3 over to this gen, as well as Battletoads (I assume will be this gen).

Not according to Microsoft.Trust me, XBox One X won't be able to play XBox Two games. There will be a clean cut once the next generation XBox hits.
