Yeah, it's kind of cool, seeing all these big-shots get taken down. Toback and Weinstein were the worst that I heard about, but I'm sure there's many more.
I wonder if Evilore/GAF will make the national news at some point. It is the largest gaming forum on the net, so it's a bit of a news story. "Largest game forum shut down by allegations of sexual assault by owner" -- more positive news for the gaming community.
I mean the forum advocated a safe space for women gamers...in the end...i guess it was something to save face for the owner....
It's kind of weird that his own SJW tendencies did him in. Had GAF not been such a SJW site, he might have been able to weather this. But he built exactly the sort of community that would not tolerate his behavior.
I wonder whether GAF will survive, and if so, in what form. New owner? Old owner, with a "take it or leave it" attitude? Half the members drawn off into splinter sites? I'm pretty certain it will be a shadow of its former self, but beyond that, it's hard to say.

Forget Evilore, i know y'all been waiting on a statement from TD so here it is.
It's all coming together for Xbox fans. Two weeks until the release of the most powerful console evah, Xbox One X and nobody to slander their precious plastic with NeoGAF gone. Can't help but think half the people in this thread are happy to see GAF go just because the so called hivemind sided with PS4 as their console of choice this gen.
Never cared for GAF myself until i started using it the proper way. Could search for almost any topic and find information or opinions. Great place to go for that. Didn't post there and probably never would have so no loss there. Still sad to see so many glad that people who enjoyed posting somewhere can no longer do so. Like get a life.
As far as Malka goes, if all that is true then he deserves it. The guy must have been well off to begin with to not sell the site for $5 or $10 million when he had the chance. Who does that? If i create a site and it balloons in popularity and i can cash in on it then i'm doing it. I guess there's a certain pride to being able to say you're the owner of the world's most popular gaming site and he still made money on ad revenue but come on.

He sounds like someone who is not telling the truth. He does what a lot of abusive people do, which is try to paint her as "a crazy woman." She is a "deeply disturbed, malicious individual." She has a "history of serious mental illness." That's typical strategy for an abuser -- discredit the victim.
Then he calls it "misanthropy and opportunism," neither of which fit. Just more deflection.
So, he talks like a person who's lying.
Otoh, the fact that she later had sex with him does not help her case (if she chooses to make it a case, that is -- sounds more like she is afraid and just wants it to go away now).
Had to stop reading about the halfway point. It started to feel too sordid. Too much of a soap opera.

2. If he knows/knew that then why was he trying to bang her? My guess is he knew exactly what he was doing and thought he could take her on a road trip and bang her because her “issues” presented a easy lay.
3. Now as for the girl. I’m sure she does have issues and her claims of this event deeply scaring her rings a bit hollow when she later slept with him and shared a bed. That doesn’t make sense at all. The more natural reaction is I want nothing to do with this man because......he sexually assaulted me.

Well you know Malka is doing. He scrabbling like hell to save the situation so his investment doesn’t evaporate. I’m sure he willing to pay out money to keep the band back together and be business as usual.
Well, the article says "various moderators," so it's unclear whether it's 2 or 7 or what.
I really enjoyed GAF for its spirited game discussions and discussions about gaming-related issues. That depended on the community, not the mods. So where the community goes is more important to me than where the mods go.
I wasn't a big fan of the previous mods. I never had any bad encounters, but I head a lot of complaining. So I'm not all that concerned about what the mods are doing.
Resetera does seem to have the most community members. So that's where I'll be heading.
I like the admins they've named. Nice to see Shinobi on the list. ZhugeEX seems good. I think Emily Rogers is ok, too.

And he wants to get rid of the off topic section which is clearly about directing the conversation away from him.
Who knows.
But don't be surprised if some of those old mods are trying to keep it hush hush. Nobody knows who any of these people are in real life, so all a old GAF mod has to do is latch on and make a new moniker and nobody will know.
Any GAF mod who knew Malka is a tard all these years is really no better. They only bailed ship when the shyt hit the fan. If the accuser never said anything, they'd all still be moderating at GAF right now.
I don't know who the other people are, but if the new site is run by guys like Shinobi and Zhuge, that's a really good sign.
If any old GAF mods are part of it, forget it. Mods at GAF were part of the problem and there's no way to know if they will improve, or stick to their old GAF ways of controlling a board.
There is a list of formers gaf member social media accounts, names, and even porn accounts that presumably intend to join "resetera". Site doesn't even exist yet and they are already getting doxxed by gamergaters.
