Yeah he cracked me the hell up. I could always tell he was part troll part dude with a real anger/ego problem.

I of course trolled the troll as much as I could when he was around the forum I frequented (actually just the comment section of the site.) Wished I'd saved some of it lol, was FIFTEEN years ago good lawd.

He relates because he famously promised an epic game where you could look into the sky, see a star, then fly to it, enter it's atmosphere, etc. I don't even remember if he eventually made a good game but he BS'd for years about the buggy POS.
 
Needs graphical update if it's going to be around for a while. It looks worse than Mass effect 3 on many levels.
 
Oh, I wouldn't expect anything even remotely close to Mass Effect. I'm hoping for a half-decent looking indy/arcade title, not anything approaching a full production by a studio like Bioware. I mean, it's a 4-person team.

Ditto. And it shouldn't be compared to ME anyhow - it's closer to a 4X game like Civ V than ME by a country mile.

heh tell that to Minecraft, currently sitting at 13m units sold on PC and 6m units sold on Xbox. Not even sure where the ME comparison came from. This is going to be an open environment type game. The biggest environment in ME3 is Normandy. D:

lol It just saddens me because I didn't pay 500 dollars to play ugly games. The life of a graphics whore is a hard one. An open world sci fi game sounds amazing but if it doesn't look good that will kill it for me. qq
 
Anyone ever play Freelancer? For some reason this game gives me a Freelancer vibe.
 
So I saw the the video from the PS4 stage. If this game can deliver, it's easily one of my most anticipated games so far. Is there any word on if the PS4 deal is exclusive or timed only? Was there any info on a lauch date?

They are a 4 man team so I'm sure they had to focus on one platform first.

Yeah, thats exactly what I was thinking. I reckon they're going with PS4 first and then if it goes well, they'll look at moving to X1/PC. which could potentially be years. I'm not waiting years for an X1 port. If there is nothing announced for X1 by the time this launches on PS4, then that's what I'm getting it on.
 
It is an interesting title. I missed it during the conference, but caught it this morning. I need to see more on it though, things like survival mechanics, and just how varied these procedurally generated worlds are. It certainly looks ambitious though.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't that policy only counts if the game is in development for both platforms at the same time? So once its out on PS4, and providing Sony haven't bought it, I think they are free to release it on other platforms, including X1.

My understanding is that MS want indie games released first or at the same time. but they will make exceptions ofr games that were made prior to the change in policy. So this game should be one of the exceptions.
 
Looks great to me. They've said it will make its console debut on the PS4. Whether and when it comes to X1 is unknown, at least to me.

This game is getting a fair amount of attention. It would say it's coming to X1 at some point but PS4 is first and foremost for 2015, and given how small the dev team is, the other platforms are 2106/17 at the earliest. I'll be getting this on PS4.

I am just happy that I do not need to buy a PS4 just for this game.

Today’s E3 press conference brought the news that No Man’s Sky will be playable on PlayStation 4 in addition to its formerly announced appearance on PC.

So what else is helping you justify it ? Only game on PS4 I would like to play is Infamous. Two games is just not enough.

Don't want to go to offtopic here : No Mans Sky, Bloodborne, The Order, various free to play things that look interesting and maybe one or two others, like Infamous for example.

I have no clue what bloodborne is. I saw the trailer, but is this a demon/dark souls game ? I need to see/hear more.

Basically yes. Its like a DS style game... bosses, fog doors and all, expect it has guns and appears to be a steampunk setting. There is some bad quality gameplay footage floating about.

I saw the footage that was dubbed project beast. Looked awesome.

Yeah I am very interesting in that game. It looks great from what I saw yesterday. Definitely will pick this up. The aircraft somewhat reminds me of Star Wars. :D

The space part actually reminded me of Starfox
