Was looking at Amazon today. Best selling game is Zelda BOTW followed by Super Mario . Third best selling game is the PC version of Titanfall 2. Huh.

Best selling console is Switch. Followed by PS4 Slim and then Xbox One S Minecraft Bundle. Xbox One X outselling PS Pro still (surprised). Xbox One S has 3 sku's in the top 100, PS4 Slim has 1 sku in top 100.

Top 100 of Amazon for console exclusives (excluding pre-orders)

Nintendo: 15
Sony: 2
Microsoft: 1

Bundle veteran Forza Horizon 3 is once again the best placing racing game on the chart. Despite a drop of three places against the previous week, Playground Games’ racer placed in 22nd. At this rate, we wouldn’t be surprised to see FH3 stick around in the top 40 until Horizon 4 becomes reality.

Following behind FH3, Need For Speed Payback continues its newfound resurgence through the chart. Inching up into 27th, EA must be happy to see the game returning to the charts in the UK. Even more impressively, of all the bigger titles on the market at time of writing, Payback has held its price point higher than the rest. Compared to the £20 and below mark of Forza Motorsport 7 and GT Sport, Payback is sitting around a £30 average.

Speaking of the two console exclusives, they are nowhere to be seen this week. This marks Sport‘s second consecutive week outside the top 40 and after briefly reappearing last week, Forza 7 falls back under. With a new content update just arriving for GT Sport, perhaps it will help on the sales front. As far as Forza 7 is concerned, it’s hard to gauge what could inspire a return to the top sellers list.

MS should give FM a rest and give it a longer dev time

Nah. Theres no guarentee there would be a 50% boost in sales to offset the 50% increase in budget. Historically in videogames, absence doth not make the heart grow fonder.

With Gran Turismo games done for this generation (and a weak one at that) that only leaves Mario Kart and other Forzas as meaningful competition. Its the the best time to be in the racing business.

That brings up a good question. Would a gamer rather have one game that sells 20 million copies for the generation, or 6 games that sell 3.3 million each over a generation.

The first option is of course $60 for the gamer, second option is $360 for the gamer.

It seems like one of those games they could move to a service based type thing and just add new tracks every few months, not sure why it needs a new full game released every two years being that it's a sim racer.

Nah. They need to sort out the clusterf*** known as multiplayer. They need more emphasis on tracks instead of cars. They need to stop adding dumb s*** like off roaders, SUVs, Limos, etc.

T10 have lost their way, and have been ignorant to multiplayer issues for too long.

Monster Hunter series now at 48M

Monster Hunter: World has now shipped 7.5 million units on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which makes it the best-selling game in Capcom's history.

Capcom said today that Monster Hunter: World had been played by more than 7 million people, from a total of 7.5 million shipped units including downloads - a record high for the Japanese publisher.

That milestone includes both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and is all the more remarkable for Monster Hunter: World being the first game in the franchise to launch on a non-Nintendo platform since 2006. It is also the first simultaneous global launch of any game in the series' history.

Capcom noted both of these factors in a statement released today, stating that "Monster Hunter: World has overcome both linguistic and cultural barriers" in finding this new level of success.
