From a media coverage standpoint, you'd think Sony won the show. The games that matter are the ones that run better on PS4 or have exclusive content. Battlefront, MGS, Final Fantasy, and Dark Souls are all associated with the Sony brand and are beating MS's exclusives in terms of reception. Sony takes a dump and wins. I just wonder if the fact they win the hearts of gamers when they don't try is potentially making them lazy in regards to exclusives and innovation this gen.
 
The console that is losing the war is often the best console to own. That company usually shows more hustle.

I actually agree. I've been a Xbox gamer past three gens. Stuck with them due to Xbox Live...but couldn't deny that MS became lame and boring 2nd half of last gen. Sony really worked hard to re-establish themselves and did a great job catching up in ecosystem while beating MS's butt in AAA exclusives. Prior to that, MS took a lot of chances with the OG Xbox (despite it's short life) and to start the 360 gen.

I just think it's more interesting and exciting to be a Xbox gamer right now.

Agreed about everything you said. I paused when the X1 unveiled and gave serious consideration to Sony but what brought me back was really the games I wanted to play and the forceeble lineup. To my surprise it now feels like original Xbox days. The scrappy underdog flatout hustling and delivering.

The NES was the market leader and was the best console to own.
The SNES was the market leader and the best console to own.
The original Playstation was the market leader and the best console to own.
The PS2 was the market leader and the best console to own.
The 360 and PS3 were neck and neck the whole time and there was no clear winner in terms of game content.
The PS4 is the market leader and, according to critics, is the best console to own.

Disclaimer: The Wii didn't compete in the same market as the PS3/360

I honestly can't think of a single console that was trailing in terms of sales, but was the better console. Please divulge.

It doesn't have to. The steel simply needs to weaken. And steel weakens very quickly when heated. Welding points weaken even faster. You can ask your local fire department which goes down faster, a house built from steel or from wood. They will tell you steel every time, and it happens because steel is so vulnerable to heat.

LOL!?!? OG Xbox was better in soooo many ways it's not even funny. Not even going to make the list because you should know better. PS2 had a larger library of games but everything else the Xbox was superior.

I would also be tempted to mention the Dreamcast but that is an easier debate to win for you. Original Xbox?...not even close...open and shut case. Even king Phony fanboy Val will concede this one (though I bet he didn't at the time that war was ongoing, lol)

Do the research. The PS2 had SIGNIFICANTLY more highly rated exclusives than the XBox. It wasn't even close.
 
As I said, the PS2 had a larger library of games...but the Xbox was the better console to own because of its features. And it had enough high rated games to keep anyone with a day job plenty busy and entertained. More doesn't always mean better.

No. I don't care about the library size. I care about each consoles best games. That's what separates the decent (XBox) to arguably the best console ever (PS2). It wasn't even close.

Damn, I had this whole rebuttal typed to go h-2-h with THL and Andy got OT mod request before I could post. :smash:

Gamescon was a huge win for Microsoft. Not sure about that list...was this an "Official" awards list or just that of the website linked? No matter, awards are opinion-based...we all have our own list of favs.

Oh, and OG XBox teh rulez. :og::bang:
 
Why sony even gets included in the poll is ridiculous, especially when every game shown is preceded by the xbox whoosh orb thing.
 
So in xbox category no quantum break, scalebound, tomb raider , crackdown, forza 6 or halo 5? Do the judges just ignore all xbox exclusives?
