I must have to go buy another PC if I want to play PC games, because my 2013 HP All In One won't play most of the latest PC games in the best possible experience, and I paid more for it than an Xbox One. But what does that have to do with the PC being the best, least expensive gaming experience when the PC can't play most of the games I prefer. It may be the best experience for YOU, but YOU are not everyone.

TDbanks....platforms evolve overtime. The PC was originally conceived as a device for using mathematical algorithms for guiding missiles. As time progressed, and technology improved it became less about computational tasks and more about entertainment. PC's gave birth to the modern gaming console. This is factual. The console is a direct spawn of the PC being used for entertainment.
In that vein....yes consoles were designed for games, but as stated platforms evolve over time. Now consoles can surf the internet, download games, and even perform complex mathematical algorithms used for non-gaming functions (a la folding @ home)
These are tasks PC's have been doing for years....and coincidentally the PC platform has also been a gaming platform.

That is like me saying 'consoles aren't meant to be media (all in one devices) which coincidentally the XB1 bills itself as.
Did you happen to notice who i was responding to? I think you're a cool PC gamer even though you've done your fair share of trash flinging. Same with Qbert and whoever else. There's a couple bad apples though and we all know who they are. They ruin every one of these threads. You can tell them until you're blue in the face that you agree PC is awesome, and it does some things better. That it's just not for us(console gamers) and they keep saying the same things over and over. Trying to force the platform on us.
And i'm glad you realize that technology and devices evolve over time. That's the whole message i've been trying to get across as it pertains to consoles and the Xbox One in particular. It's a gaming machine at heart but it's evolved into a multimedia machine that brings us entertainment now. The all in one set top box.
....and there are games that are exclusive to the PC platform that are going to be amazing!
Check out Star Citizen (based on the Crytek engine!) That game isn't even finished and they are leveraging the very cutting edge of PC graphics to make it look phenomenal.
Yes the PC might not have as many (high profile) exclusives on it that consoles have (simply because consoles are traditionally seen as the only way to play games. That is changing though), but PCs are arguably better as gaming machines than consoles. On the technical side of that argument there is no retort. The PC platform is superior technically, but software wise it is up to individual preference. Just because a console game wins GOTY doesn't mean that on the PC many gamers would consider a lesser known title just as viable.
BTW...just going by GOTY winners...I think most of the past titles were in fact multiplatform. Notable exceptions being The Last of Us and a few others.
