I was playing with a couple buddies the other night. Two of us (in a Jeep) rolled up on these guys and we went to jump out to fight them... I died from jumping out the vehicle soon as my guy touched the ground and my friend was gunned down soon as his feet hit the ground. Good times.

The biggest problem for me with this game is the inventory system. I have no idea how to use it. Feels bad.

It is tough at first because you just have to learn what everything does. On top of that, any time you spend in the inventory menu means someone can shoot you too so that makes it a challenge.

One of my top priorities is finding a backpack. Without a backpack, the game is really tough. There's just no way you can carry enough stuff to get to the end without at least a level 1.

From there, the biggest challenge is remembering what's in your inventory without looking (that can be really tough if you play a bunch of rounds in a row - did I find gas this round or last?).

Find what guns you like and drop addons for guns you usually don't use (unless that's all you find). I'm usually looking to dump shotguns and smgs once I find better assault rifles (my hope is to find two good rifles). Once I find them, I'm dumping all my shotgun attachments on the ground.

Prioritize what's important too. Things like pistol quickdraw mags are ok, but they just help reload speed. This isn't a game where you are going to reload in mid fight all that often (hopefully at least by then you are fighting with something better than a pistol). Extended mags on the other hand are much more important. That could mean the difference between a kill and having to reload mid-fight.

Early on the best thing is to grab everything, then find a nice room to hide. Then, sort through your inventory a bit until you get quicker with it.

Even with the best planning, luck can hurt you. I've had to pass up on great items like first aid kids simply because I don't have the inventory space.

The game is tough at first. My first few days I would usually die outside the zone or someone would kill me while I am trying to manage my inventory. Just keep at it and you'll improve over time.

I’m sure it’s change is a constant...it showed up as seventh when I gave it a peek, just now.

Yeah it definitely does. I've been checking it semi regularly though and the highest I've seen it is 4th place. NBA2K18 seems to be above it regularly and that game has sold 8.5 million copies total (a little over half on PS4). So I would expect PUBG hasn't reached 4 million copies sold at this point.

NBA2K18 has sold 8.5 million?

Even though it's not the usual $60 MSRP, 4 million in sales could be huge for both PUBG and Xbox.

Also have to wonder if they'll be an additional fee once the game hits full retail release.

It took time but I have got used to the inventory system and it works well. I dug back into it the last couple of days and it's remarkable how little you actually do some games while holding your interests. If I get off to a fast start with picking up items and I find myself in the circle already then I pretty much hunker down.

Great post - thank you. Yeah, definitely have to get faster. Doing okay, though. Usually get 1-2 kills a game, finished in the top 10 twice, 4th once, and mostly in the top 25.

Handgun vs. Shotgun. I had the shotgun while the other player had the handgun. I have lvl 1 vest and helmet while He has nothing. He comes into the room I'm in and doesn't see me. I take a shot and hit him. He leaves fast and I give chase. He turns and puts 4 bullets in me rapidly while my shots seem to miss... I die.... I've never been so mad before. I think I yelled I f***ing quit. I don't deserve to play this.

I don't know man.

Grabbing everything then sorting through it is not a good habit to form. You only want to pick up important things, surpressors, sights(especially 4x and above). Also, don't dump your stuff in a house where somebody else could profit from it.

Meds, painkillers, energy drinks are a must have.

Dumping things like SMGs and shotguns also isn't great advice. Having two ARs is pretty pointless. A shot gun, pump action or Saiga, and SMGs are better weapons in CQB situations. Not too mention the UMP and Tommy Gun are fantastic weapons. Your weapon loadout should Ideally consist of a long range weapon & a close range weapon.

Obviously you have to make do with what you can find, so my priority list in order...

Assault Rifle
scope(4x, holographic)
First aid kits, Painkillers, Energy drinks.
Helmet
Vest
Backpack
Second weapon.

In the end though it is about finding a loadout that works for you.

I've had zero luck with shotguns in this game, even when I have them in what should be ideal situations (me camping in a small area). Honestly I can only remember one kill with one. I dump a shotgun as soon as I come across something better.

Some people are just insanely good too. People somehow use their 3rd person camera to line up a perfect shot. Was in the top 10 yesterday and was prone with a scoped in M16. Guy hides behind a tree and I wait... he pops out and shoots me in the head. A few people here have run into the same thing and we're thinking people are using a mouse and kb attachment.

Then again, maybe people just get lucky with the headshot. I swear though, some people in this game seem faster than in a game like COD which feels odd. I have no idea how people can react that quickly.

Yeah I agree on the shotties. I don’t like them at all. But I seem to get wrecked by them. I’ve only maybe gotten 2 or 3 kills with them.
I’ve been head shot so fast I didn’t even see it or hear it. I had the drop on one dude who whipped around and one shotted me with a pistol. It was the single most BS kill I’ve had in the game and the only one I’ve ever thought was totally cheap. I 100% belive that player was using a keyboard mouse setup.

I really wish they would add a 1st person only server too. People use the camera as basically a legal wallhack.

My most memorable kill is still when I first started playing. As soon as I landed I picked up a handgun and 15 rounds. Then, some nut decides to come at me empty handed throwing hands like an animal. A mongoose to be exact, because this guy was impossible to hit. He had me down to about 1/3 health and I had hit him twice. On my last round I plant it in his dome.

Of course there was nothing to loot, but oh well.

Played with @zycthe and his buddy last night and had some crazy matches, we even pulled...

Just got my first top 5. Lol at how small the circle can get. Getting lucky and in position for what you think is the final spot helps a ton.

I really like how effective hiding in the grass can be. It's an actual mechanic! That's why this game is so amazing!

It was so much fun dude. After you left, my buddy and immediately got a chicken dinner in duo! Two in a row!

I realized that might not sound the way I intended. It was a lot of fun playing together, not just after you left. Lol.
