Turkey meal!

Sounds good. But it's supposed to be a game preview, not the same as PC's 1.0 release..... or something like that.

So it's going to have HDR at launch and 4k textures later on when they actually make them.

$30 paid beta? Is the game stable enough to warrant spending $30? I like the premise, but I don't want to play a buggy game after paying $30.

It is indeed a paid beta, just like on Steam. But if/when the game goes final, don't you still own it and don't have to buy the retail version?

Think of it like this. The game didn't become an absurd, freakish, otherworldly success that now dwarfs Dota 2, because it's a buggy game. Buy it without hesitation.

I’ll be buying it so I’ll let you know how buggy or not it is.

It's that big of a community?

It has a significantly bigger community than Dota 2, which has reigned supreme on the Steam charts since the dawn of time. The game is unreal and IMO a must buy for anyone who's even mildly interested in competitive multiplayer games.

Don't X1 early access games have trials? If not then play Fortnite BR to see if you like the concept and use that to help decide.

Yeah you usually get an hour or so before you commit. That should be enough to get in a game or two here I think.

I've been looking at this for awhile. Just not sure whether to get the Xbox version or just buy the PC one. I'm a little disappointed that Xbox isn't getting the full game yet.

So does that mean the PC version doesn't have 4K textures?
The texture resolution is the least of its worries. There's something about it that's kind of fugly, and it's not the sharpness of the textures.

It's like it's aiming to look like Sarah Connor in Terminator 2, but ends up looking like Sarah Connor in Terminator 1.

Could I also use the analogy that it aims to look like John Connor in T2, but ends up looking like John Connor in T3?

Game is a must buy imo......have to see how the invintory system works but having everybody’s graphics at the same settings will make this game so much better.

As far as textures go, if we're using Counter-Strike: GO as a 1:1 comparison for the look they're going for with PUBG and the standard for the textures; I'd say PUBG is a mixed bag in it's current state. With Textures set to the Ultra setting, a few textures look great, other textures look like what you'd expect out of Low to Medium texture sets, like they would even look bad at 720p. I'm assuming a lot of it is placeholder stuff.

Honestly I'd be surprised if they released a texture set tuned for 4k resolution, that would be a massive overhaul. Unless they say otherwise I'm just going to assume they mean that they're targeting better quality textures all around.

If you want to save a few bucks, get the physical box on deal. All it includes is a code anyway.

I don't think 4k textures will mean much to this game.

I've watched various PC PUBG YT vids and none of them show great visuals. In fact, this game looks like something from 10 years ago.

Fortnite is fun but there is this hiccup every time i get into a fight and its bad.

If this game is smooth as butter fortnite will be gone in a flash.
