Official Thread Playstation VR

Been streaming Vr vids on 4pro. They handle ok but I noticed quality goes up and down and I'm wired in. Vrideo, Within apps are not good quality streamwise. I've got a 75/75 connection, it could be the problem. Wish I could find my usb stick.

I want to get a PS VR just for the hell of it but the Pro comes first along with a 4K TV. Like what were you thinking Sony. Most of us ain't rich. Slow down the greatness. I want to envy them for the get a second job comment but they were just telling it like it is.

Do not buy the Martian. I'm sorry for even posting. I had no idea it was 20min long for $20. WTF.

Star Wars Rogue one experience Dec 6th, free to everyone who owns Battlefront.

Now they are forcing me to make a decision since I never bought SWBF.

I've been waiting for it to be free on EA Access (likely soon or at least sometime before BF2 is released). But having it on X1 does me no good now for VR fun. Guess I will pick it up Black Friday for PS4 as I have seen deals coming for $12-15 on that weekend.

Nice gesture on the freebie though! Does this mean it is (yet another) short VR experience?

In other news, my Eagle Flight game came today. I believe it's time for me fly!

Yeah I'm hearing its about 20min long for SW VR, can't expect anything with it being free I guess.

Please give us impressions on Eagle Flight!

My copy of RIGS is coming later today. I'll give impressions if anyone wants. Man these Vr games are selling out to fast. Either they're not printing enough or they just can't keep with demand. Robinson isn't at Amazon and no store around me had it.

The PSVR launch bundle is no where to be seen either. Core headsets are though. I'm glad I got a PSVR bundle on launch day.

I was able to put a couple hours into Eagle Flight last night and it is a great chill game that anyone can play without much instruction. The flying is completely intuitive using your head to point where you want to go and the controls are accurate and responsive too. I played less of the story mode as it was just enjoyable to fly around Paris and squeeze through buildings and other obstacles. Graphics are slightly cartoonish and don't reach the level of BatmanVR.

You would think all the up/down/around stuff would be a nauseating experience but I didn't have any issues. In fact, of all the games I have played on the demo disk and whatnot the only 2 that had my stomach go out from under me are the Until Dawn roller coaster and RIGS jumping about.

As for Eagle Flight I am not far enough into the game story or even tried multiplayer yet to give it a rating but I get the feeling from it that this is one of the few games that bring enough "meat" to justify the price.

I heard RIGS on pro looks drastically better, and it wasn't ugly to begin with.

I heared the same. The other reason, I decided on RIGS because I've heard it's a real game sp/mp. I'll support that. I'll even buy RE7 even though it's not a fav genre even with Vr. Space Rift will be supported because a small team, went for full funding and their publisher wanted to only fund installments, to see if the franchise sells.

Robinson, anyone who has it, can I get 6 hours out of it? If so, I'll purchase. I won't waste money on big corp cash grabs, like the Martian. Scott is my fav director too. But he's gotta perform better.

Ok, just put Rigs in. Ugghhh, the god damn forced coddling in these Vr games is nauseating in itself. I get why it's there but I should be able to fix controls and jump in. The vision mask while turning makes me feel a little something.

So far though, it looks a little better on pro but has way more prescence than the demo and I haven't even hit an arena yet.

The game is good. The frame rate looks pretty stable and fluid. The strangest thing, I felt a small effect in my stomach only when returning to a marked spot which brings you back to the tutorial garage. While running jumping/shooting/boosting, there was no affect. Soon as I got near the yellow marked spot, I felt it. Really strange.

So today was the day, took 1/2 a day off and got home shortly before my new 4k TV ('65" Samsung KS9800) arrived from the Geek Squad.

Fast forward 8 hours later and I'm still in absolute heaven. The TV was a breeze to set up, all my components were automatically identified when I plugged them in. Spent another hour checking AVSForum for the master picture settings and got all that squared away.

All I can say it that it is absolutely glorious. The picture is amazing with everything I've fed it. On the gaming side I went through the PS4 Pro with Uncharted 4, Rachet & Clank, COD:IW, and FIFA17. I feel like the TV improves my play because of the low input lag (now realize how much my old TV had), the clarity, and the size of the picture.

I am sure I still have some tweaking to do and not entirely sure I'm even enabling HDR on any games but I can die a happy man after today. Absolutely zero regrets I drained my wallet on this. The drain will continue as I'm going to have to get myself an X1 S model for 4Kmovies and my X1 games. And I just upgraded my Netflix sub to 4k streams.

Next up is my copy of Star Wars Battlefront arriving Sunday Amazon on sale now for $16....then I gotta re-buy Skyrim and TombRaider just to further bathe in this beauty. Suddenly I have too many games to (re)play now!

Finally tried Playroom and VR worlds on pro, holy s*** it looks much better. I get the feeling pro was made for this.

I'm thinking your idea is more truthfull than Sony wants to admit. It drives the PSVR to higher level of experience. Take Ocean Descent. On OG, it's great but on Pro, there's more depth of being in the ocean. It's really hard to explain. There's more of the illusion of being lowered into the water. It's more of something, just can't find the words right now.

Right now my problem with Vr games is putting sounds where they don't belong and the illusion of weight and mass on objects in world. Ocean Descent has the shark making water noises as it swims by you. You have a diving suit on, you wouldn't hear that. Also building in psvr can be huge but I don't get the feeling of weight and mass from that building. I'm sure some developers will figure it out though.

Has anyone tried Space Rift or Eve Gunjack?

Like I said, vr will be like online gaming; it won't replace the core experience but rather enhance it's longevity by adding a new mode to the game.

sounds amazing!! i got a samsung 55in but def getting 65in for my next TV :)

I really can't believe that vr, is here. Usable, affordable (considering headsets used to be 40-140k for terrible implementation in the past ) and actually living up to expectations for the most part currently.

The wait has been long (since the mid-late 70s ) for myself. When you were younger, did you ever imagine yourself, actually being in a favorite tv show or game world somehow? Being in the same room with theSix Million Dollar man, Steve Austin and Bionic woman, Jamie Sommers was always a dream of mine. Tv was more of a motivator than games but I do recall wishing Superman and other games on the Atari 2600 would be cool if you were there, inside the game as Superman and others, somehow.

How long have you waited, what types of imaginings did you think to yourself about "Vr" until viable tech came along?

Also, does the current wave of vr, at least meet your expectations or do not meet your expectations?

TLDR:
How long have you waited for vr and does current vr, Occulus/PSVR/ViVe meet your expectations?

Can someone with a Ps4 PRO tell me if standard games look improved in cinematic mode?

Hold on, try to see for you. Gonna fire up Shadow of Mordor. Brb

Digital Joker, to be honest, I think I see a difference but it's really subtle. I'll throw in UC4 and try.
Despite the obvious differences when using supersampling on my 2006, 1080p tv, I'm not seeing complete noticeable differences when using cinema mode on the Hmd.

so Pro def improves the VR? a little or a lot? in the games you mentioned.

Not all games, but those I mentioned definitely see a drastic improvement. I noticed a difference in the Jackal Assault gameplay too. I'd say the difference is like going from 720p to 1080p in playroom.

Cool, thanks for taking the time to check. I was hoping there would be a bit of improvement in cinematic mode and nobody had thought to make the comparison.

Well..... As good as PSVR is, I've decided to unplug the thing and will sell it before X'mas if Sony don't come up with a fix for the pass through of HDR. So strawberry floating sick of swapping cables every time I move from VR gaming to Pro and back.

Is the PS VR sold out? I was browsing through nowinstock.net for stock shipment of NES Classic Edition and it's showing PSVR unit (core&bundle) is sold out everywhere. I didn't see any units at my stores ( Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Target ) locally this past week.
