Official Thread Playstation VR

Is the PS VR sold out? I was browsing through nowinstock.net for stock shipment of NES Classic Edition and it's showing PSVR unit (core&bundle) is sold out everywhere. I didn't see any units at my stores ( Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Target ) locally this past week.

Sony realized PSVR was a disaster and stopped production...

I'm really liking Eagle Flight, especially the multiplayer. Some of the most intense gaming I've had. I dialed the sensitivity to max and the control is great. Sometimes its difficult to find a match, others its immediate though.

Arizona Sunshine is coming out for Rift/Vive this December and has also been announced coming for PS VR in the future. Looks good!

ain't going to look that good on PSVR and a 2D video will never convey how good or bad a game is in VR.

So I decided to do some PSVR gaming today and see if I noticed much difference with my PS4 Pro (yes, I did - faster loader, crisper, and more immersive). I went to check out the games on sale for VR this weekend and decided to give Holoball a go for $10.

BEST. VR. MONEY. I. HAVE. SPENT. YET. !!!

This game rocks HARD for fun! It's basically racquetball but in a VR Tron-like dimension. You are going to need space to place this, like 8 feet from your TV and no furniture (or people) around because you are swinging your move controller about. Shots feel right - go where you expect and even with spin if you hit it right. Now I did miss some balls I thought I had but that is all part of the fun. The only annoying thing for me so far is that I am on occasion hitting the share button and ruining a point.

I love this game.

So just to add to my post above. As you can see I was super-excited playing Holoball yesterday because it was really the first VR experience that truly delighted me in the gameplay department. I played it another 2 hours last night after my post and when I finally took off my headset I was covered in sweat from all the swinging and bouncing about.

Make no mistake, this is a $10 game and should be considered as such. There are not a ton of modes, no online play, nor any customization. But what you do get is pure fun gameplay, especially for someone who enjoys racquetball/tennis sports. There is also local 2 player with a non-VR player trying to take you down that is fun also. The computer AI does some Portal-like quips if you play bad. Great use of $10 I still say.

I also had some real fun yesterday with the free Call of Duty VR add-on. Not much too it but it's free and fun to do the dogfights in space. Definitely give it a go if you haven't yet.

Finally, now that I have the Move controller I was able to give Tumble VR a try and this is surely my next purchase. Stacking blocks, blowing up block towers, and completing light circuitry is pretty darn fun in VR space. This is one that anyone in the household can easily play too for some party stuff.

I also played a bunch more of Eagles Nest and I honestly just enjoy flying about free form as I do trying to complete missions. Still need to earn my wings before I give the online part a try.

All in all, I had a blast with my PS VR setup yesterday and not feeling a bit of remorse over the purchase. The only downside has been the overall overcharging for game experiences. Holoball gets it right at $10. These other companies wanting full price for experiences that are 2-5 hours isn't going to get my dollars.

Hmm, I was thinking. I'm a little angry at Eagle Flight for the forced comfort settings but Ubisoft seems to be the only 3rd party with the resources, putting out full experiences. Ubisoft with Werewolves Within. Capcom with RE7. Ubisoft AGAIN with Star Trek Bridge Crew and Bandai Namco with Ace Combat 7. I bought Driveclub/RIGS/Battlezone for the full game experience. I'm thinking about getting Eagle Flight. If they patched the comfort settings as options, I'd pull the trigger. My outlook on Ubi has broadened some after looking at their Vr line up again.

I'm also keeping a close eye on Bethesda and Fallout 4 Vr. I really like Tod Howards explanation of their strategy on Vr. Basically saying the Vr market will sort itself out and they want Fallout 4 to be an actual full length videogame with all Fallout 4 entails. This I will get behind.

As far as Robinson, anyone that's played can I get 5-8 hours out of it, first playthrough? It took me like 12 hours for Valiant Hearts: The Great War for a reference. Yessiree, I'm a scrub gamer now.

Thanks for the reply. I'll think about it more. Make a decision when I get FFXV.

I know Badmonk said he enjoyed Robinson: The Journey but I'm not yet sold for full price. FYI, Amazon just dropped the price to $33.99 so now would be a good time if you are on the fence.

Wow, haven't you guys heard the RE7 DEMO is now playable in vr? I have to visit aunt in hospital but so far on 4pro it looks pretty good. Tons of vr comfort options and non options for everyone, np there. Anyone with PSVR get the new RE7 DEMO update. I've turned off all comfort but couldn't play much. Guys let me know how it looks on OG Ps4.

To reiterate, yes it's now playable in Vr.

I thought it was available from the start when PS VR launched? That demo where you are sitting on a chair tied up? Is this something different? I tried to download it but it said I already had it. What is new?

At PSX they announced an update to the RE7 Beginning Hour demo. The whole demo is now playable in Vr. It wasn't before, at least to my knowlegde. You could play in cinema mode but not Vr. Update for Og ps4, support for pro and psvr. The kitchen is separate.

yeah standing adds to it a lot. omfg just played through it twice and its amazing! I already pre ordered this weeks ago since playing the lantern demo at a PSVR tour near where I live, and that and robinson was the main reason I got my PSVR.
this RE demo is terrifying, I stopped a couple times lol to gain my composure but its bloody incredible re the tension and immersion.
I recommend playing through at least twice, I will play through a couple more times tomorrow as there is stuff to uncover and more areas to explore........... I wont give too much away for those that haven't played yet but I honestly didn't wanna go in the basement, I went away 3 times before I plucked up the courage to desend lol

The materials in VR, wallpaper, sheetrock, wood, leather, metal all look very real up close in re7. It's sort of scary in itself.

its the demo where youre in the house, not tied on the chair, def give this a try. its called beginning hour teaser and its very good,

I was getting motion sickness from it. :really:

Wow, really? Was it all the climbing that got you? I don't recall you saying any other games doing a number on you.

Were you able to complete the game? Other than the motion issues how was the game itself?

badmonk, if you don't mind me asking how long was Robinson for you?
Over 6 hours, can't remember exactly but I explored nearly every nook and cranny, might have been 8, but I didn't rush through and found the whole experience pretty incredible. Don't know if there is a way on PS4 to check how long we have played for.

I finished it and felt fine. As a VR game I thought it was amazing. Not the longest game I have played lol but I loved every second. I felt a little dissapointed as certain things they showed before didn't happen the same way in the game, but overall I was very happy with my purchase.

I think the problem comes from the world moving when you're not moving and/or moment that doesn't jive with how you would move in real life. The camera will move even though I know I'm not swaying back and forth. It started right in the opening cubicle. Was a little better when I got outside, but I can't play it at lengths.

I think I got better at it. I was ok with robinson but I had been playing windlands a lot and that was hard lol I could only play in 5 min bursts but in the end was playing over 1 hour on windlands so maybe you can get used to it.

RE I think is fine as pretty slow moving, well apart from the part where you run as fast as f**k to get away from a certain something lol

Play it standing if possible, and alone. Lol
dude I played robinson and windlands stood up and that alone makes it a more unique experience. just played RE standing up and wow, amazing!! actually looking around, turning your body to see behind you is incredible. just played through the 3rd time and got a bad ending lol don't wanna give anything away for people that haven't played yet but gonna try and get the good ending later.
needless to say, I am really happy with my preorder of RE7 which I placed weeks ago and playing this demo just sealed the deal.
I think this is going to be an amazing gaming experience.

Thanks badmonk/Plainview. Appreciate the answer, I'll get about 5 hours as I'd look at every nook and cranny.

As I play more Vr games, especially after the RE7 demo, getting the sense of, all (should have said, "most games" when first making this post ) games are gimped on 2D flat screens no matter the resolution. I was excited for 4k HDR but now, it's really not a big deal. It's more of the same for me. We'll go to 8k and blah blah. But it will never actually put me in the world like Vr, ever. I still take spins in ocean descent and that's non interactive. My growing opinion is, as soon as people realise flat screens actually inhibit the experience, whether it's a movie/simulation/game, the better. I was excited to see Horizon: Zero Dawn when it came out, now....not so much. The other game that has me thinking is Space Rift. When I play some more I'll give small impression.

It'll be years before a heavy amount of tech, physical/graphical will be thrown at Vr. I know this. Vr/Ar is a slow slow burn. So, I'll just have to enjoy what I get. So far though, one of my dream franchises is on the way. Star Trek:Bridge Crew is one. A full Racing sim and a full Air Combat sim is the third and I'd be quite content. Seeing the potential of Vr/Ar has my brain churning lately, at least when it works.

I hear ya, but TBH I still just love sitting in a chair and playing a game the traditional way. I think VR is at its strongest with games like RE, and maybe open world RPGs like skyrim, but for eg playing online competitive FPS titles like Overwatch or counter strike then I think the traditional method is better.
That being said, I think the next generation of VR might be true 1080p HD or maybe 4K, imagine RE7 played in VR in true 4K!!!! Omfg!!!
Then I don't know, if it gets that good, which I am 99% sure it will, then it will def change the way we game but as much as I loved playing RE7 stood up and frantically turning every time I heard a sound, I still love just sitting back in my chair and playing with gamepad/mouse k/b (hey I'm a PC gamer now lol) on my TV or monitor (PC gamer ya see) and fragging to my hearts content.

Can't wait for RE7 now, easily one of the most intense and exciting gaming moments I have had. Did anyone find the full dummy hand and attach the finger? I did but don't think you can do anything with it.
