Post E3, what are your purchases for this year?

I'm going to try to finish it under 50 hours. Main story only though. No side quests. No grinding. I started the game last night and I couldn't stop playing. Game is so good. I'm at level 6 and doing the ladies of the wood quest and so far my buddy said i barely touch the game lol.

Why would you want to finish the game under 50 hours?

Racing sims are niche, some people love playing the same tracks over and over beating their best times or racing online, believe it or not many like that sort of challenge. The fans have been begging for weather. What would you have Forza 6 do to prevent it from being a cash grab? Its a simulator, there is only so much that can be done with current tech to simulate racing on a track. Weather effects are pretty taxing, but they actually effect gameplay like rain for example. More tracks, many, many more cars this time are also a huge bonus.

I usually get about 400 hours out of each Forza game, I'm ranked usually in the top 100 on certain tracks, but it takes hours of tuning and polishing of the car just to achieve that. Its great fun if that's your bag, obviously its not yours, which is fine but its hardly a cash grab, with all they are adding I would pay $100 easily.

To me, The Order is much more of a cash grab despite being a new IP, huge production values with the same old limited, uninteresting gameplay we've seen for 15 years. The only difference is halo/gears have previous iterations. With as much as they have changed with halo 5, what's the difference between The Order and Halo 5? The Order does nothing new, in fact neither does bloodboure or most of these games. The point is, they are a rehash or something we've seen before usually. In my opinion, I like 343i's approach, they told the fans to fvck off with their new gameplay and you know what? Most of us like it better despite it pissing many off initially. That's pretty risky to take a "cash grab" franchise and just completely screw with the gameplay that already worked well.

Plenty can be done with racers including minor detials like pit crew. I like racers just not impressed with Forza and its slow innovation. Weather has been around for ages including day/night cycles, nothing new or impressive about it, but ok...

Like I mentioned tired of sequels on generel. My main gripe is Halo, Forza, Gears, Fable in rotation without any new IPs. People get amneshia when it comes to MS. X1 is a repeat of 360 since 2012 and people are here defending it. Wtf is wrong with people?

The gamepkay in The Order 1886 is actally a risky. Infact the majority of gamers dont know what it is except "TPS" but it clearly does more. Halo 5 is no way risky. The name alone is garanteed sales and pre orders like CoD.

All Im saying is they need mixture of new IPs and well known franchises YEARLY. The garanteed money is Halo, Gears, Forza. They know it. You now it. I know it. Stop kidding yourself.

I've played games with pit crews, project cars being one of them, it was a lame addition actually, repeating the same of crap over and over. The animations were crap, just looked awful. So that's it? Pit crews and Forza is godlike?

Lol explain how The Order is risky, I want to hear that. I've played through it so I want to see what I was missing out being an experienced gamer.

Did you even play the halo 5 beta? Doesn't sound like it. It was the biggest core gameplay changes since the series started easily.

Point is, most of the games are the same anyway, whether its a new name or a repeated one.

Maybe get off the defense and listen. Tired of explaining myself. A lot your post has nothing to do with my point. I dont even know where this conversation went. Now its out about innovation in gaming. Lol

You know I meant more than pit crew I made it clear in my original post. If you think Forza did all it could for racing go ahead and believe it. Lol

I've already told how you the the game is risky. The fact people hardley know what it is proof of it. Some compare it the TLOU. Some compare it to HR style games. No one truly knows what it is including people who've beaten it. The Order 1886 is a new IP targeting a niche audience fron a popular genre. Not hard see why its a bigger risk than Halo (a popular well know franchise garanteed $ from its name alone).

Like I said tired of Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable crammed in one year . It's obviously a buisness stragedy used to make money. After an 8 year console gen its gets old. Remember we had Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza almst 3 years in a row last gen It's natrul that I want something new/fresh. I shouldn't hafto explain this over and over. Why woukd I play Halo 5 beta? The series ran its course for me.

Wrong. I think youre confusing the fact that all 4 of those franchises are juggernaut properties. When mentioned, they over shadow all. This doesnt mean however that the Xone doesnt have any other exclusives or new Ip's. That is undoubtedly false. They've released plenty since launch with more coming down the line. Ori, Ryse, S.O. DR3 and more. Plus, the Xone also has every multi platform game the competition has. You can add BC to that list and other features the competition doesnt offer.

Those particular 4 (Halo, Fable, Gears, Forza) are juggernauts though, and hard to ignore. Dont hate bro-shama...

1886 was a risk, sure. But it failed.....and horribly. In fact Sony's exclusives (aside from BB) has fallen short of glory. Some moreso than others....

I don't think you have any idea what you are saying about The Order, that doesn't make sense. Its a typical 3rd person shooter with an awesome art style and visuals, nothing more. I wish it was more too, but it isn't. Nothing was risky about it other than shoving the same old gameplay at us again, QTE, typical dumb AI, corridor shooter.

Again, did you play the H5 beta?

We are literally watching two people debate whether Halo 5 or The Order had/has fresher gameplay.

Not to get caught up in this drama, but a few things.

What about Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, scalebound, Sea of Thieves, etc. MS has new exclusives. We also have Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusive. Granted, this year the new exclusives are a little thin, but it is one year. Laste year they had them and next year they will have them. So, this seems like a picky point to press.

I would much rather have fan favourites only than have a year full of games that I have no interest in.

As for Forza, it innovates in ways most people do not notice. Its physics engine is generally way beyond most racing games on a console.
It also bought us drivetars. It is now including rain with actual hydroplaning, Sure rain is nothing new, but I challenge you to find any sim on any platform that actually has proper bodies of water and proper hydroplaning, good luck. The series is still way out in front on the customization & tuning front as well.

I assumed his point was its more of a risk because Halo is going to sell well regardless and not really a comment of its gameplay.

I personally think the lineup is insulting. The Only worthy game on your list is TR and Rare Replay. Im burned out on sequels in general. If the game doesnt do anyrhing new or capture my interest time to move on. Gears and Halo ran it course at E3 and I was was actually hype for Gears.
As a gamer you guys should want more, demand more. Now were suppose to be excited cause Forza added weather effects? Smdh , "Cash Grab."

Like I mentioned Sony has 3 New IPs in one year alone. Name 1 new IP on X1 this year... No other choice but Halo, Gears, Fable Foza. I actually like Sony's approach to gaming. They take more risk and cater to a bigger audience.

Second you are completetly miss informed.
Last Gears of War came out in 2013. Next one isn't coming out until 2016.
Last Halo came out in 2013. Next one is out in 2015.
Last Fable came out in 2014. Next one is out this year but is not of the same lineage and has been in production for 3+ years.
Forza and Forza Horizon are two different games and they are separated by two years. They are not the same.
They have three exclusive and/or new IPs that will be talked about more in August, Quantum Break, Crackdown and Scalebound.

I'm not sure what's insulting?

Your definition of a cash grab seems to be off. A cash grab is something like The Last of Us on PS4. That's a cash grab.

Yeah or like Gears Ultimate edition on PC and Xbox one or any other remakes in general.
Let me guess though since Last of US was just out last gen it is more of one.

To many games coming out the next year or so. I can't afford all of them nor do I have the time to play them all!

The Last of Us is more because nothing was added to the game and it was barely a year old when they did it. Total cash grab. It was just a straight up port with nothing added unless I'm mistaken? Same goes for Halo: Spartan Assault. MCC is at the other end of the spectrum and I would not even think of calling that a cash grab. It may have been broken but it's far from a cash grab. Gears is in the middle.

Exactly,, even more risky actually. They could just copy and paste Halo 3 or Halo 2's gameplay, but instead they choose to add their own style.

But its still going to sell. Its not a risk if you have nothing to lose. At least in terms of sales.

Would putting out a title you know isn't ready for release be considered a cash grab?

That's true, but the issue wasn't about riskiness of releasing a game(I don't think), but the risks it takes AS a game. If you follow how Halo "purists" behave when you change one tiny aspect, then the (much needed) overhaul by 343i is risky as hell. Any change in a beloved, established franchise is risky. Of course, I think just copy/pasting old Halo gameplay into a new iteration may well have ended up just as risky.

You could probably say that the Order took risks by having so many long cutscenes, lol, but the gameplay was tried-and-true though-and-through. The only real risk was being a new IP, and that has nothing to do with what the game is doing itself.

This whole post is such BS.

There nothing but 100% accuracy in that post.

Well...not really.

The Master Chief Collection is 4 Halo games, and that came out in 2014.
Isn't there a Gears of War Remaster coming before the next Gears game in 2016?
Fable: The Journey came out in 2012.
Then you kind of act like MS's rapid fire Forza pattern is acceptable.

Anyway, it's BS because you responded to the following quote by Zero-O...

"I personally think the lineup is insulting. The Only worthy game on your list is TR and Rare Replay. Im burned out on sequels in general. If the game doesnt do anyrhing new or capture my interest time to move on. Gears and Halo ran it course at E3 and I was was actually hype for Gears.

Now let's ignore the Tomb Raider, Rare Replay, and Cash Grab comments for a moment. Zero-O is addressing the fact that these franchises have grown stale for a certain percentage of the population. Halo 5 will largely play like Halo 1. Gears 5 will largely play like Gears 1. Forza is Forza etc... Not only will they play the same but we've already been introduced to these worlds, these characters, these premises time and time again.

Some people crave novelty.
Other people crave familiarity.

What group do you think intelligent people belong to? I'm just surprised there are so many people here who bought the Xbox One to play the 5th, 6th, 7th, and maybe 8th Halo games on their Xbox One.

It just bugs the s*** out of me, and should to all of you, that Geurilla Games asked Sony to make something other than Killzone and Sony said "Sure." Bungie asked MS to make something other than Halo and MS responded with "This isn't going to work out."

Don't you people want talented developers to make new creative things? How this doesn't excite you is beyond me.

Yeah reminds me of all the Star Wars edition cash grabs....

What is it with you and trusted, successful franchises dude?! lol. Jesus! We get it, Sony has nothing that can compete with Halo, Forza, Gears or Fable and it rubs you the wrong way. But......Get Over It!

And I swear you hold grudges like someone I once knew who had a fabulous rack.

It just bugs the s*** out of me, and should to all of you, that Geurilla Games asked Sony to make something other than Killzone and Sony said "Sure."

Horizon had been worked by a small team in Guerilla for years while they tried multiple times to get Sony to approve it, it wasn't a simple "Sure".
