I hope PES can make a big jump this year, but they have to improve on the technical side. 720p and still having framerate issues on X1 on top of that? They have to improve that engine significantly somehow.

Plus Fifa's gameplay is just so good. Hard to beat Fifa right now. Makes me sad to say that as a long time PES fan.

Ill take 720P with decent FPS, providing the gameplay is not the same stale, robotic mess it has been for a long long time. PES 15 is terrible, easily one of the worst games I have ever played, and that saddens me. This series was numero uno, it was fantastic, but since the dawn of last-gen it has just gone down hill. Even when adds things like player collisions, and fighting for the ball, it has no real impact. Then you look at FIFA, and these same additions had huge impacts on how the game feels & plays.

My expectations are low for PES 16, but I am hoping that this is the year it comes back.

Fox engine right? That has never ran well on the One.
 
animations look way smoother, not as robotic. this has easily got me more interested than FIFA16
 
KONAMI ANNOUNCES NEW 3-YEAR DEAL WITH UEFA

Konami has secured a new three-year deal with UEFA to "retain exclusive rights to Europe's greatest club football competitions" for forthcoming Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) titles.

It also permits PES to feature UEFA's Super Cup, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League club competitions as both individual modes or "within the larger season overview upon qualification".

The fox engine looks and runs like s*** on the Xbox One. FIFA plays like a pile of generic, homogenized s*** though so there is no winning.
 
pes15 was beyond s***. literally a ps2 game in how it plays with no collision system or realistic ball physics. as a hopeful fan, 15 was the game that made me lose all hope of pes getting as good as fifa. the gap between them is just too big now

PES 2016 Release Date and New Gameplay Details Announced

Following the announcement of Neymar as the cover star for PES 2016, Konami on Friday announced the release date and more details about the upcoming professional soccer game.

The game launches September 18 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the franchise, and Konami says the game will focus on "core PES values."

PES 2016 runs on the Fox Engine, which also powers Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and the upcomingPhantom Pain. "Every facet of the game has been enhanced to deliver yet another outstanding product" that aims to stand up as the "definitive football experience," Konami said.

Among other things, PES 2016 will deliver an "advanced collision system" that calculates how players interact, thus resulting in "unique outcomes" based on how two players collide. The game also gives players greater control when in the air. "Use the left stick to battle the opposition or disrupt a larger, more powerful, player; or find the best position to make the header/volley," Konami said.

PES 2016 also includes enhancements to 1v1 player control, with response times improved to help players deke out their opponents when charging toward the net. Other new features include improvements to defense (perform a tackle at the "perfect time" and you'll get the ball for a quick counter chance), smarter player AI that means you no longer need to manually trigger a one-two, and advancements to goalkeeping mechanics to allow for more variety in catching, clearing, and deflecting shots.

Further still, PES 2016 includes new goal celebration controls, and better visuals across the board, including dynamic weather (players will slip and fall in rainy weather) and a new wide camera. There are also a variety of new player animations, new ball physics, and improvements to the game's Master League and myClub modes, as well as new commentary.

Konami also says it signed a new three-year deal with UEFA for Champions League competition. This allows Konami to feature the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League tournaments in PES.

More details on PES 2016 will be announced next week at E3.

Everything he says sounds great, and it looks good, but I am just gunna wait and see how it plays.

After a long absence from my favorite series this past year it appears I will have played PES 15 more than FIFA 15. Considering what I have seen from EA on FIFA16 - it appears they are focusing on AI, tactical, defense, and other nuances to make the game "play" more realistic while PES seems to be working on the management aspects I am squarely on the fence on which will be my go-to footy title this year. The other factor is all my buddies are FIFA nuts and I do enjoy playing these titles online along with the career mode stuff.

Looking forward to demos on both to try to sort out my indecision.
 
Xbox One/PS4 Getting PES 2016 Demo Next Week, Final Covert Art Revealed

Konami's upcoming professional soccer game PES 2016 doesn't launch until September, but you can play it this week at Gamescom or next week through a demo on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the developer has announced.

The free demo will be available on those platforms and last-generation systems starting August 13. It features both club and national teams and aims to introduce you to the game's many new features.

No, it looks like complete @ss. And Morato?!?!? Wow, what a choice. :txbrolleyes: Thank goodness I don't play the box (as in the case itself). I become a convert to PES last year after that less than stellar FIFA15. Looking forward to giving them both a try.

I do not think FIFA 16 will get a demo. I hope I am wrong, but no demo for PGA tour seems like a good indication.
 
well everyone said the same last year when there wasnt a demo for NFL but we still got a demo for FIFA in the end
 
EA Access gets those of us who have that at least a 4 day early "free" trial.

What's wrong with Morata? The best young striker in europe after the season he had he deserves it, Real prove there stupidity again by letting him move on to support a 'galactico' instead.

He had similar amount of appearances and scored twice as many goals...and he is a more exciting player to watch.

Does he need to prove he can do it season after season, sure, but based on last season...

Kane > Morata.

Based on last season big games those that Kane doesn't know off Morata Champions League Semi and Final, goalscorer. I also understand Kane plays for a lesser side but to score and play well in games against Madrid and then score and come close in the final speaks volumes of the premier tournament in world football.

I would have Morata over Kane but I respect your opinion, I wouldn't want Kane at United unless he can consistently show he's capable of two more seasons like last year and I am a fan, he has fantastic movement and an eye for goal but there's something about English players that fills me with no hope.

It is not like Kane did not play well in big matches. He scord 4 goals in 2 big London show downs. 2 against Chelsea & 2 against Arsenal.

The problem, at least over here in the USA, is that anything outside of the EPL there is very little exposure to the matches. FoxSports just picked up the Bundesliga so we can finally get some decent exposure to that league. La Liga and Serie A you really have to search for matches other than when those teams show up in Champions League.

I have no idea how well this game does in the USA compared to Europe/RotW but I would think it holds it own making a Juventus youngster unknown to many on this side of the pond possible an odd choice. So for me the question was less about talent than it was name recognition - speaking just as an American that follows footie alot.

I imagine it rarely does well here. No MLS obviously hurts. If I want the game at launch I actually pre-order from Gamestop (something I never do) since you can't even be sure it shows up on store shelves at launch.

I know too as an Xbox owner, it always feels like we're left out. The game runs worse and there are a lot fewer option files. PES is the only game where I really wish I had a different console to play it on.

As for TV coverage, all I ever seem to find is matches like Man City vs SoonToBeRelegatedShireship. :)
