PS4 Pro Discussion

Well I made the jump to the Pro. Look and quality even better than the regular PS4. Also like the little light on the touchpad now. Didn't realize that had changed. Anyways still waiting to download a game to play (Let it Die) but not even sure it makes use of the Pro.

Congrats
FYI the new power and eject buttons suck
lol yea noticed that right away. In fact I thought I fried the thing. I had it plugged in (like hold front of console while shoving the power cable in) and thought it was good. Plugged it into the surge protector and was tying cables and could hear the power sparking or whatever. Turns out power cable wasn't all the way in or just doesn't fit snug enough so it came out. Went to turn on the PS4 and couldn't figure out how to press the button to get it working. Oh well beyond the first time I rarely use the buttons on the system.

Here's a good resource. 1440p, it looks like.

Thanks I'll take a look. At least for that game it looks like it should downsample so that's good for me. Didn't get a chance to play the game last night as the download took freaking forever.

I still have trouble finding that *bleeping* eject button on the pro.

I remember on launch day spending way too much time figuring out how to turn the damn thing on.

I'm still not entirely sure how to power-on or eject a disc on the PS4 Pro.Thankfully all of that can be done with a controller.

Yeah, if you look at the bottom part of what is the middle cheeseburger, on the far left there's a tiny white circle. That's power. The eject one is off on the right, but not all the way to the right.

Whoever designed that should be shot.

Its not just hard 2 see...its also awkward to push as they don't feel like buttons.

Yep, I still use the eject one all the time and I still have trouble finding it. It is a pet peeve of mine - people who care way too much about the look of their electronics. Make it functional first.

Initially for the power button, I was pressing up on it (so pressing it against the middle cheeseburger lol). Not sure if it's supposed to be a little loose but that's the only way it felt like it was moving.

Edit: man haven't had a cheeseburger in a long time

Right, lol. I still hate that i can't eject a disc on X1 with the controller through the dashboard. It was there last gen, so why not this gen?

Can't stand simple design flaws like that. When you need a flashlight to find the buttons on your console it's a problem.

Discs are so 2016. Get with the times.

I wish I could go digital, but disk games still have the best sales, especially newer games. Amazon Prime has pretty much every new release for $48. I've never seen digital versions of anything like that. The only good digital sales are dirt cheap old games.

Truth. I want everything digital, but I got Final Fantasy and Watch Dogs 2 on disc because they were each twenty bucks off!

Xbox is my only full digital system. PS4 and Wii U both about 95% disc based because of Best Buy gamer's club. Only reason I really went digital with Xbox was the ability to switch to TV and what not back and forth. Although now with their backwards compatible and cross-buy deals if worked out well.

Fallout 4 patch is out, going to be a long day at work!

Went home "for lunch", I'm EXTREMELY happy with this patch. If you put a ton of time into this game on PS4, you'll notice obvious resolution, texture, draw distance, stability, and frame rate improvements. I was walking around looking at things I'd seen a million times oohing and ahhing. Weapons like Spray N Pray and the Explosive Shotgun used to make action chug and skip a ton of frames now seem sooooooo much more fluid. Large explosions like cars and fat boys look and perform so much better. It's certainly not perfect, still has drops and stutters, but it's so much better than what I was accustomed to for so long. So awesome.

Haven't played Fallout 4 yet but good to hear they've improved the performance.

It used to be so much easier with Sony:

I like the look of the Pro much better than the launch console. Better button placement, no glossy plastic, MUCH better light placement that makes finding the buttons easier to find in the dark.

That picture of the original PS1 is what an ugly console looks like.

The buttons suck on the PS Pro. The rest is good though.
