Xbox is shuttling PAX-goers to the Microsoft campus to play indie games
http://www.destructoid.com/xbox-is-...osoft-campus-to-play-indie-games-279993.phtml

If you're going to be in Seattle next week for PAX Prime, Xbox is giving you the opportunity to get your hands on some games before the convention even begins. Bonus perks are you get to ride in the Sunset Overdrive bus, and you get to check out the magnificent Microsoft campus in Redmond.
On Thursday evening, Xbox is shuttling fans from the Washington State Convention Center to its campus to play 25 or so ID@Xbox titles. The buses leave at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., and return at 8:00 and 9:30 p.m. It's open to those that are at least 18 years old, and anyone under age can get in with a parent/guardian.
Seating is limited, so everything's on a first come, first served basis. However, if you feel like driving yourself over to Redmond, Microsoft would be more than happy to have you. If PAX is all about the games for you, this is a great opportunity to get a jump start on the weekend.

I think the graphics are much better than last year. Cleaner. The zoom camera takes getting used to, I'm trying to work with it but may switch. I like that you can press up and down on D-pad to change camera on the fly. In fact there seem to be a lot of little usability things like that.

Navigating the playbook feels a little clunkier, like I don't have the time to look at my options, but I assume that will improve over time as I get used to it.

The overall presentation of the game, camera angles, halftime show, is miles better than last year. I love the fact that they narrate the highlights during halftime. NOW if only they had narrated highlights for OTHER GAMES that are going on, then we'd be in NFL 2k5 presentation territory. It annoys me that last year and this year there are no in-game updates from other games in progress. It's a step backwards from last gen.

But otherwise the game seems a major improvement over last year.

Yeah the clunky playbook feels weird I agree on that. I think it feels kind of delayed. If you get what I mean.

I agree, the graphics are better than M25. I was also really impressed with the halftime highlights, that is a major improvement over M25. Im assuming that you are talking about the new defensive camera angles. I had trouble with that at first, but soon found out that you don't have to use that camera angle to do the new QTE styled defensive moves. You can do them in any camera setting. The gameplay is very similar to M25 imo. By my second game I could completely dominate the cpu on All-Pro difficulty. I won by 5 touchdowns easily in my second game. I like what Ive seen of M15, just not enough to drop $65 on it.

New Xbox One Smartglass Beta Update Lets You Record Game Clips From Your Smartphone and Much More
http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/08...ame-clips-from-your-smartphone-and-much-more/

Together with the new September preview update for the Xbox One, Microsoft just released update 2.4.1408.22100 of the Xbox One Smartglass Beta for Android.
The new version includes quite a lot of features, including the ability to record game clips directly from your smartphone, which is definitely useful for those that opted to buy their console without Kinect.
Below you can find the full list of new features:
  • Share and post activity feed items.
  • Post status updates to your activity feed.
  • See your activity feed on your profile.
  • Display messages in a new conversations view.
  • Record game clips.
  • In-app display of release and feature notes.
  • Expanding to new markets.
  • TV and OneGuide available in new markets.
The “Record that” option will appear directly in the “now playing” bar while you’re playing any game, as you can see in the screenshot below, allowing you to record game clips with a simple tap.
As usual, the preview update installed on the Xbox One may be necessary to use some of the new features of the app, which is available only for Android. iOS users will have to wait until the official release.

Cant wait for Tuesday, nice to see positive impressions, even people on Neogaf are saying good things which is rare for that site

Just pre-ordered it from Best Buy. I have Gamers Club Unlocked so I get 20% off in addition to the $10 gift card for pre-ordering.

This would be a great feature.

Not only can gamers test out the game, but for all those devs complaining that making a demo eats up time and money, MS allowing people to play the game for 24 hours helps. Also, at 24 hours, it prevents some gamers from milking a demo instead of buying the final game.

Looks like a win-win.

The one key issue is that any dev liking this 24 hour policy will have gamers waiting until release day as opposed to releasing a demo a month or two before it ships.

So, the schedule is as follows.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be playable all weekend to anyone attending PAX Prime. So, if you plan on going to PAX from August 29th – September 1st, 10 AM to 6 PM at Xbox Booths 412, 422, and 432. It’s very likely that at this panel, we will hear news about forge in the Master Chief Collection, and even possibly armor customization. Although it’s unlikely, we may even see Halo 3 running on Xbox One, since it was shown behind closed doors at Gamescom.

For those in town as Penny Arcade Expo kicks off next week, Microsoft is staging an open house at its campus and offering more than 25 playable games coming to Xbox One under the ID@Xbox program.

Never played a MOBA on PC, but that Smite game looks pretty good. Oh and Space Engineers looks Mine Craft, centric!!

I got EA Access last night to check this out. Best Madden yet and I buy the game every year. I am not sure if I will keep EA Access but it was worth the $5 to check this out a little early.

More Ori can't be a bad thing.

Metro Redux launches with disk-based installation issues, here is the workaround
http://www.xboxmad.net/x/metro-redux-installation-issues.html
The issues are caused by installing the day one patch in conjunction with the disk-based installation. Digital versions should be fine.

To install the game successfully, ensure you decline to update the game before installing. Once the game has fully nstalled, you can then load the game up which will trigger another update request - it should be safe to update this time. The Metro team are aware of the issue and will likely be issuing a fix, but until then this work around will have to do.

Did MS stop their parity release clause or something? How come all these ps4 games are coming to xbox one later?

Only if it's quite a bit cheaper.

It IS !! Depending on your location oc, I live in Denmark and the two Metro games are priced at 106 in USD.

I bought both as DD for about 50 or 60 USD in total (can remember exactly) at the US Xbox Live store.
:-)

Games are VERY expensive in the Nordic countries
