Rise of the Tomb Raider announced for PC (Early 2016) and PS4 (Holiday 2016)

One penny gained is profitable. Decent profit means the money gained is satisfactory. Pretty big difference.

We know MS is publishing. What do publishers do?...so we know they are doing the advertising and distribution, that alone is a huge cost. We also know MS is helping to fund the development of the game. How much, who knows, but given how big this game was, and the fact that Square Enix were doing it already, I would assume MS had to part with some big bucks for this exclusivity.
If you are saying they will make a decent profit, then you are saying they will be profitable. There is no "I never said they would be profitable." You are arguing with yourself.

Anyways, you need to show some sort of link or evidence to support your large, presumptuous claim that Microsoft is taking care of over half of the entire game's expenses.

WOW. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Shame I didn't actually say that. I said "I never said 'profit'. I said 'decent profit' " if you can not make out the obvious distinction between the two, well, that is on you.

Not sure how "I wouldn't be surprised if MS was footing half the development cost" is considered presumptuous. What limits did I fail to observe? how is it not appropriate?

:txbconfused:

You're getting weird again. Crazy logic for how one can claim they never said the word "profit." This is why I don't care for your console wars. K bye.

My consoles wars? at what point was this about console wars?

Seems like the thread has derailed a long time ago, but I just realized that the game is coming to "Windows 10" as well as "Steam PC". Then I realized, Microsoft didn't exactly pay for Xbox timed exclusivity. Rather, they paid to bring the game to Windows Store and make it a cross-purchase game between Windows 10 PC and Xbox. People would still buy it on Steam, but not only you have the option to buy it on Windows Store as well, you would have already bought it if you bought a digital copy for Xbox.

For now, this makes Windows 10 and Windows Store a part of Xbox ecosystem. It's cool, and Windows Store might be at least as good as Origin. However, if this becomes a trend with many other games (and remember, this started with a bunch of ID@Xbox titles going cross-platform), the relationship might be reversed - Xbox becomes one of the services for Windows 10, and your PC literally becomes Xbox.
