The PS fans who said they would never pay to play online last gen were definitely some of the worst. We all know they would have paid if Sony told them to. But it was a good bullet point for the PS3. No doubt, the 360 was a much better all around online experience and worth every penny to me but like i said in my previous post. Lots of gamers just don't care about the bells and whistles. If they can fire up Call of Duty and shoot people for 5-6 hours a night that's all that matters to them.
Microsoft could have axed all the hate and did a subscription service like Sony did. Silver members get to play online for free. Gold members get the total package for a reasonable $30 a month. That's all they had to do. But like capitalist America does, they got greedy for the money. And i don't blame them. They're a business, so it is what it is. Both would be charging this gen regardless, so whatever. I'm just glad we're getting a solid service on both ends. I don't mind paying for quality.
