You can't trust Hatch!!

Let me start off on something. I never, ever get motion sickness till my crew were hitting hi waves.

I have played so many games and never had that effect. But this game nailed the sailing so good i am just speechless.

Let me take something everything what you guys think it's going to be a Sea of Thieves the chances are it's going to be that because this one has my expectation what I thought the game can be.

Keep in mind that this is an alpha so this is probably an old built you know because of this game supposed to come out this year there's no way this is can be in Alpha development now but I'm assuming if they're testing the server or how things communicate with each other when you have a bunch of players playing

the exploring part where it gives such a Pirates of the Caribbean feels to it.
When your crew leaves you that is when you know your f*cked if you have dead come after you.

There is a mermaid in the ocean that can return you back to your crew.

The only time I see loading was getting into the game and when you dead you go into a realm with a dead pirate! LOL

The biggest part is when you start playing music you only play one part when your crew joins you than the music sound epic unless you're drunk! LOL

The map on the table might look small but when you're sailing it a trip and the sky changes. Also hands down the best day and night cycle on any game that I played.

How big are the biggest islands or environments in the alpha?
Some island is small to good size land. I only was able to land maybe 5 but they are so many. They are so much travel that I was able to see the rest. There is booty you need to find and once that is done they give you another land to go find.

The problem is that you never know when there is another crew out there. I was lucky that I haven't run into another crew because that sailing is no joke.

Every person has a job to do when sailing.

Steering
turn the sail
lift the sail
drop the sail
drop the anchor
raise the anchor
Navigate the main map while sailing

It's crazy.

Honestly, I can't wait to see,how this looks on Scorpio with it's rich colors and the open sea.

Do those jobs act as their own mini games and how do you coordinate who does what?
well if you want to get the ship to go any way you need your crew because you can technically do it yourself but it will take forever to get anywhere.

1 pirate can lift the anchor but it will be forever, but if you have 3 it will go up really fast. Plus you have a wind factor you need to see because where ever the wind blows you have to adjust your sail.

just what they are doing to the xbox one is mind blowing. If there is a time you asked if RARE ever get back into the groove. I can say yes if this game keeps getting better.

How many max for a crew?

Do you have unlimited ammo or is that another resource to manage?

Can you get hurt? Healed?

Are there female pirates? Townspeople? Shops?

what are your thoughts that this launches as a game pass exclusive?

Phil did mention on ign that he hopped to see new games launch on the service.

he also compared sea of thieves to mine craft.

I think this game will be built on content and what better way to get people to play and also launch a new service. There will be plenty of micro transaction for cosmetics to make extra money.

then in 6-12 months release a full retail copy.

A few probably baseless thoughts after following this game:

1. I don't expect a campaign. This appears to be a massively (hopefully) multiplayer experience.

2. This is the reason for the alphas. Rare has to scale the game correctly to be successful for various player counts.

3. Since Rare has the ability to scale the world out I almost expect a Elite Dangerous approach and content added into the world.

4. This game takes the notion of teamwork to a whole another level. Success requires it. Lone wolf strategies will not get you far.

5. This game caters to all audiences and fundamental aspects of it will appeal to parents. My hunch this is where Minecraft comparisons come in. Teamwork, creativity, and exploration are values of the game.

Why do I get a PSO vibe from the descriptions of teamwork and exploration in this game? I loved how that game felt so original back on Dreamcast. Excuse me if that seems like a terrible analogy. I haven't been much into any online co-op type games; so for me, there hasn't really been much I can compare this to. Still, the more I read about this game, the more the concept interests me. I have to admit, when the game was first announced, I didn't really feel that excited about it. That has definitely changed. This looks different than anything I've played, but that sense of adventure and online companionship seems like something that I must really miss.
