Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition

Let Sleeping Dogs lie.

Got it free through GwG and haven't played it much yet. Future XboxOne GwG game confirmed. :p

Haha, I also got the 360 version via Games with Gold but I still haven't touched it. Will more than likely get this definitive edition.

The more I think about it, the more I want it. I'm just wondering if the ghost story DLC they made is separate from the main game.

I'll buy it again for sure, I don't mind double dipping at all if the game is awesome and this game is just that. I also don't get people complaining about the price, if this were being released on the 360 or PS3 I could see a reason to complain but this is an upgraded version on new consoles that comes with all of the DLC. I just hope we get a sequel eventually.

Sounds good to me. Sleeping Dogs is a great game. I'll pick it up again for the Xbox One.

I feel like i've already been here. Oh, there's two threads. Well allow me to say once again, i'll be getting Sleeping Dogs again and not only that. I'll be getting it on that Xbox One master sauce hardware!

Only played a bit of the first game. If they do a remake on the same level as tomb raider, I may just bite.

I really liked Sleeping Dogs, it made me feel like a kung-fu god. Can't wait for the sequel.

Not a chance I'll be buying this again though.

Can't understand why people who got SD as a GwG freebie but haven't really bothered playing it want to now pay $60 for the same game. Why people would want to pay $60 for a game they already own for free but don't actually bother to play is beyond me.

Best open world game in years.

What happened to Watch Dogs being pure bliss and the best open world game you've ever played? Sorry, they call me out for liking more than one game so i had to. :)

Who knows. This game was among the most hyped next gen games and absolutely zero people have talked about it for months despite it selling something like 4M copies! Seems like a big candidate for people lining up to trade back to EB. lol

Times like this make me happy I game on PC; good god. $60 for the original then $5-$15 for the DLC, then another $60 for this "definitive edition", which chances are high will be the same game with the PC texture pack (it really did make an absolute huge difference), HBAO, AA.

It's getting a bit ridiculous.
Yeah, count me among those that have already played the definitive edition for $15 a year ago.

Seriously? They're rereleasing a two year old game at that price? Why not ,you know... WORK ON A FU(KING SEQUEL! :txbmad:

Because I don't really like playing games on my 360 anymore due to how slow the system is to me now + I would prefer to play the game with visual improvements now that I'm used to the way current gen games look + I got the last gen version of the game for free so I don't see me doing it as being that different from people who spent full price when the game originally came out.

Edit: Oh, and I also don't like the 360 controller. The 360 controller feels bulky and stiff to me now that I'm used to the Xbox One controller. Hope the game uses the rumble triggers too.

Sleeping Dogs did plenty of good things, but one thing where they failed miserably was the driving. God was that terrible, especially compared to say GTA V, hell even GTA IV. In SD it's like controlling a RC car, same goes for all vehicles. It just is no fun at all. Most other things were quite good though. If they were to drastically improve this, who knows..maybe i'd check it out. Right now i say it;s a rather pointless remaster. This game has been free a while ago on GwG for Christ's sake and you can now get it for what...10 euros or so?

as crowded as the fall is and I have played on the 360 and ps3
I will be getting this again
I think I need to find my thread on the COD remake
got a feeling that's real as well

It was decent, but not good enough to spend $60 on again. Based on the development, it was destined for disaster, so the final product came as a surprise. The combat was good. The map was varied enough despite the size. The SP missions were pretty good. The upgrades kept it interesting. The over the top action kept it interesting.

Still, people forgive the game too easily for all the faults. The driving was terrible. The map was tiny. You couldn't fly. The side missions were bland. The SP story was about as generic as they come. GTA IV which is 6 years old was worlds better than this, which means GTA V was a generation ahead of it. Heck, even Saints Row 2 slightly out performed it.

Still, for the $5 to $10 range, I might consider getting the HD remake.

SR2's engine was a mess. The driving was SD biggest problem.

I played the game and finish it right away...which for me its extremely rare. Just when you think the story is going to get interesting...it ended. That's what I like about the GTAs,they give you plenty of game time but rarely overstays its welcome.

Confirmed for October 10th

“It was an exciting opportunity for the original development team to be able revisit a game we're so passionate about”, said Dan Sochan, senior producer at developer United Front Games.
“We're giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we've gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p. We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambiance of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation of consoles.”

Ohhh, umm, Ooh! o_O

The first game didnt look like they tried to push the visuals at all. I enjoyed it, but S.D. wasnt the prettiest game out there. Not by a long shot. Just sayin...

This was an awesome game and one I wouldn’t mind revisiting. Heck, Square could release a remastered version of Deus Ex Human Revolution and I’d pick that up too.
