Official Thread The Division v. 2

Hard to tell what it looks like. These games are all about the endgame. The story is just a glorified XP leveling system to enter the endgame.

We need to see what the endgame actually is. Raids, Dark Zone, Loot, skills, upgrades, activities, competitive MP, etc.
Not for me lol
I played the first one co-oped through the sp, hardly played the dark zone, feel like I got my moneys worth. Prob play this one in the same manner. Actually got to see it irl at a demo booth at Stockholm comic con a few months ago, looked like the first one at a new location, I'm fine with that.

I agree, the first game's campaign was awesome and it was reused a lot for the end game content which I'd be surprised if that's not done with this sequel so campaign content will most likely be very relevant to the end game progression system. I can't understand how someone would say the 12-15 hrs. of campaign content doesn't matter. I guess that's the mentality that goes on to say the game was a ripoff like the Destiny crybabies that keep playing while complaining about it. Its like "dude move on already and shut the hell up".

This was funny.

I think the trick is to give these games 3 months and see where people are then. Sometimes getting in on the ground floor is fun, but I think I'll let both Div 2 and Anthem simmer a bit and see which one is deeper in the long run.

the more little details I hear the more hyped i'm getting. Dark Zone normalization is massive. I like how they went about the spongy enemy issue, instead of removing it they got creative and turned it into a combat mechanic. Armour normalization is massive. 3 distinct DZs is nice. End game first, story second.

PVE and PvP balancing is seperate, supposedly. If true then that is massive.

Goota give huge props to Ubisoft for actually listening to feedback on D1 and actually adding it to the game.

I just hope Ubisoft doesn't ruin it with stupid MT itegratilon. The stash size is already a massive worry for me.

The Division 2 beta dates, beta access and everything else you should know

How to sign up to The Division 2 beta arriving in February.

Matthew Reynolds17/01/2019
The Division 2 beta will allowing you to get hands-on with Ubisoft's open-world multiplayer shooter ahead of its release date on March 15th.

Those who followed the original will notice this is familiar territory, and though details on the sequel's beta are light, there is some educated guesses we can make based on what happened last time.

Here's everything we know so far - including The Division 2 beta dates and beta access.

The Division 2 beta dates

Ubisoft has announced The Division 2 beta dates on all platforms - PS4, Xbox One and PC - will take place between Thursday, February 7th to Monday, February 11th.

Specific start times have yet to be revealed - but should be confirmed closer to the time.

How to get The Division 2 beta access

There are several ways to gain The Division 2 beta access:

Pre-ordering The Division 2
The Division 2 beta sign-ups on the official site
If you pre-order The Division 2 from a store, you will receive a code from the retailer, while digital purchases will grant your account automatic access.

If you're going for the beta sign-ups, then the process has several steps. First, select which platform you'd like to play the beta on - PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC. When you proceed, you're then asked to sign into your Uplay account.

After you've confirmed your email address, then you've registered your interest.

It should be noted this won't guarantee beta access. Ubisoft hasn't confirmed specifically how invites will work, but signing up nice and early should improve your chances when the time comes.

What will the The Division 2 beta be like?

Ubisoft hasn't confirmed any specifics about The Division 2 beta, but by looking at the beta for the original - which set huge player records for the time - we have some educated guesses on what we might expect.

The original beta featured a gameplay segment close to the start of the game, and featured a handful of story missions with the ability to play in four player co-op. It also featured The Dark Zone, The Division's take on a player-versus-player zone. The sequel will probably do something similar.

A weapon skin was offered as a bonus for the first Division beta. Will the sequel offer something similar?
Meanwhile, playing the original beta unlocked a Weapon skin - for the SIG 556 - for the final game. Again, we might see the same again for The Division 2.

Another tidbit - the original beta received a 24 hour headstart on Xbox One. With the sequel's first gameplay debuting at Xbox's E3 press conference, there's a chance a similar partnership could also be in place - though with the beta dates already announced, we highly doubt it at this late stage.

Everything else you need to know about The Division 2

Fresh off its full reveal during E3 2018, we know the first details about The Division 2, including:

A new location, shifting from New York City to Washington D.C.
It's not just a location change, but a seasonal one - moving from a snowy winter to the summer.

There were a few confirmed locations - an overgrown zoo where survivors of the series' smallpox plague were sheltering, through to streets surrounding the Capitol building and a glimpse of a crashed Air Force One.
A release date of March 15th, 2019 on all three platforms - PS4, Xbox One and PC.

And I will say I played the demo at E3 and really liked it. One of the devs was talking to me the whole time, and he said they were aware of all the criticisms of the first one and were trying to fix all of them.

Looking forward to the end product.

So it's nothing new.

I love how they are dealing with the spongyness. Having to wear down armour introduces teamwork and strategy, and better AI is absolutely awesome. :)

I like how they are dealing with most things. Take the DZ for example, one of the big problems in D1 was spending hours in DZ and coming out with very little due to getting gankd at extraction all the damn time.

In D2 you get a mix, gear you get there and then and contaminated gear that needs extraction. Then they kept the incentive to extract gear by making contaminated gear roll after it is extraccted, but also rolls based on your build to try and give you something you actually want.

I watched that DZ video and I liked what I heard. It also looked much smoother. You still have the gear enabled DZ in the end game as well. Looks fun. They are definitely making all the right noises around twist needed to be improved.

yeah it does smoother. Likely due to smaller zones, lower player count...and the expansion of data centers...and just general engine network improvements

The X1X version is supposedly 60 FPS...which means OG Xbox should be too.

It said 60fps for X? I must of missed that.

Thinking about it, it's not much going on in regards to npc count and the environments are very static. MGSV did 60fps on base models and looked amazing, so there's a chance this will do fauxK at 60fps.
