What kills me is the sh**-eating grin on his face as he's selling people a line of pure BS. That's the same grin Kellyanne Conway gets, or that used car salesman who tells you the car was only driven to church by someone's grandma.

Some relative posted on Facebook about a meeting to discuss the Trump presidency. The meeting includes Henry Kissinger and omg The Bilderberg Group.

This person then said "God help us".

I actually read their shared article past the headline and all this was is a meeting. It has no authority. It doesn't even take meeting minutes. I'm not even sure Kissinger or this group even have issue with Trump policies.

The reason I'm even discussing this here is I bump into this weird creeping paranoia that makes having a discussion with people irl or Facebook awkward af.

I guess I just wondered if this is common or if this comes from Fox news and Alt-Right news.

Luckily, it's only confined to Facebook for me.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...ions-have-undisclosed-meeting-russian-n767096

The FBI and Congress are examining a campaign event last spring during which Donald Trump, Jeff Sessions and Jared Kushner were in a small gathering with Russian ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak and other diplomats at Washington's Mayflower Hotel, multiple U.S. officials told NBC News.

Five current and former U.S. officials said they are aware of classified intelligence suggesting there was some sort of private encounter between Trump and his aides and the Russian envoy, despite a heated denial from Sessions, who has already come under fire for failing to disclose two separate contacts with Kislyak. Kushner also denied through a spokesman that he met privately with Kislyak that day.

And the f***ing idiot backs out of the Paris deal. What a f***ing idiot.

Trump supporters should never be allowed to vote again. There is no way the founding fathers could have foreseen this much stupidity to exist in the country that somebody like trump would be president.

Congrats US on joining Syria and Nicaragua. What a pile of s*** we have become under Trump.

No. We are alone on this.

Syria didn't join because of their ongoing civil war.

nicaragua didn't join because the accord wasn't stringent enough to combat climate change.

The US didn't join because f*** the planet.

Seriously f*** ALL republicans. I'm sorry. There is no such thing as a good republican. They are all garbage. I'm done giving anybody that is a republican my sympathy/empathy. I am going to laugh at republicans suffering. That's what wanted with their vote. That's what they are getting from me.

I'm seeing all these investigations being announced. I'm sure they'll take months to close but can we expect anything substantial to happen from them?

Unfortunately, just to have a job I now work as a truck driver and I come across this sometimes with people I meet in different parts of the country.

I rarely talk politics in person. The thing to remember is that often people don't even agree on basic facts. So basically, how are people supposed to have a debate on politics when we can't even agree on facts?

I have friends that tell me how Obama stole everyone's guns and destroyed the economy. I always prod them and ask them exactly when the anti-gun laws were passed in those 8 years, because I missed them. They say, "you know about the secret ones..." This is the kind of brain washing that is just pointless to even try to fight through. I enjoy talking to people who have different beliefs than me, but stuff like this? What's the point?

Really most talking politics isn't even talking politics, it is twisting facts to fit your view. Talking politics really is about talking issues and policy. What most people end up talking about is cherry picked facts to support their broad "side".

Every intelligent person is against this decision. Such a pathetic disgrace.

Team,

I know many of you share my disappointment with the White House's decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement. I spoke with President Trump on Tuesday and tried to persuade him to keep the U.S. in the agreement. But it wasn't enough.

Climate change is real and we all share a responsibility to fight it. I want to reassure you that today's developments will have no impact on Apple's efforts to protect the environment. We power nearly all of our operations with renewable energy, which we believe is an example of something that's good for our planet and makes good business sense as well.

We will keep working toward the ambitious goals of a closed-loop supply chain, and to eventually stop mining new materials altogether. Of course, we're going to keep working with our suppliers to help them do more to power their businesses with clean energy. And we will keep challenging ourselves to do even more. Knowing the good work that we and countless others around the world are doing, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about our planet's future.

Our mission has always been to leave the world better than we found it. We will never waver, because we know that future generations depend on us.

Your work is as important today as it has ever been. Thank you for your commitment to making a difference every single day.

Tim

Yea even Rex Tillerson and the Oil Co's didn't want him to withdraw from it. Elon Musk and Bob Iger left his advisory council because he is.

He just wants to destroy Obamas legacy because Obama made fun of him at that correspondents dinner. He such a damn toddler.

Now, I dislike Kathy Griffin. I don't find her funny at all. I didn't find he trump severed heard funny. It was stupid. What I do find funny is how all of these delicate snowflakes are calling for her to be fired, have her shows cancelled, etc. So sensitive these republicants are.

The right really love their straw man arguments. They love to take something like the Kathy Griffin thing and force us to defend it.

That's another thing that isn't really politics.

Elon take me to Mars with you. I don't care if I have to eat s*** potatoes every day.

Please attempt to do this.

White House adviser Kellyanne Conway predicted that former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate next week will be a "clarifying moment" as President Donald Trump tries to push through the controversy related to the FBI's investigation into possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Russian officials.

Conway, appearing on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” also left open the possibility that Trump might block Comey from testifying by invoking executive privilege.

I was about to ask if they were dumb enough to try and block Comey, but then I think we all know that answer. :tounge:

Stock markets up 20% since Trump took over about 7 months ago. Like the grand 'ol Nasdaq days from 1999. Beast. Will it come crashing down like Nasdaq 2000? Who knows. But markets at all time highs every week.

Hope you guys didn't miss out.

Love or hate him, remember he's a business guy. He'll never screw around with policies that would hurt his own business interests.

Catch the wave while you can.

Notice how 99% of business leaders have shut their mouths about Trump the past 6 months since stock prices and profits have been trending up lately. The are quietly riding the wave too.

Stocks have been increasing for years now. Where was the credit to Obama?

With that said, stocks going up only help "certain" people. What about other areas that are being affect? My home value had been going up steadily for a few years now....and now, the value has dropped 3 times. Thanks Trump.

It is no surprise Trump and a GOP congress are great for big business and the very rich. Everything he wants to do will benefit big business. Dismantling the EPA, net neutrality eliminated, getting rid of Obamacare will be huge for business. Just wait until his tax cuts to stimulate the economy come in.

Hopefully Joe Six Pack Trump voter enjoys watching the 1% get filthy rich while he's still wondering what happened to the wall, his healthcare, and why his summer a/c bill is so high...

I lol at you attributing the stock market increases to him being a "business guy".
"Helping certain people" is a ton of people. Anyone who has stocks, a company plan or pension fund has rode the wave. Now if someone has zero equities, that's their problem. They have nothing to gain or lose, while people with equities rides the risk of losing money. People with nothing complain when people with assets gain, but you never hear from them when markets drop and people's stocks/home prices plummet.

Your link about presidents is only the first 3 months IN OFFICE (Jan 20 to end of Apr). Also, since end of April, markets have rose another 2% since the article was written.

If you look at what the markets have done since he got elected in early Nov 2016, markets have been on fire. And that's despite tons of bad mouthing about Trump, including business leaders back then.

Nov 8, 2016 S&P 2,140 pts
June 2, 2017 S&P 2,440 pts
+300 pts = +14%

Nov 8, 2016 Dow 18,300 pts
June 2, 2017 Dow 21,200 pts
+2,900 pts = +16%

Nov 8, 2016 Nasdaq 5,200 pts
June 2, 2017 Nasdaq 6,300 pts
+1,100 pts = +21%

Whoever discredited the markets when Obama was pres? Markets rose a lot too. Big difference is that Trump is "supposed to be bad" for business. And that may be true for foreign companies, but not for American-based companies.

Obama took over when markets had already spiraled down 40%. He took over when markets were at 20 year lows and things did great growing back, but he took over at a time markets can't really get any worse. He took over when market indexes were equivalent to what they were in 1997. Trump has taken over and it's kept on going despite negativity. If people believed all the hoopla last year from the press and business leaders, markets should have tumbled, but they've accelerated since he won the election.

Rising markets help a lot of people. You just have to be in the market. You snooze you lose.

It's no different than people preferring to leave money in a savings account at 1% interest. During down times and the markets and stocks are dropping 20%, a 1% savings account looks great. People who are risk averse, or have no money to make money show no remorse when others have portfolios dropping daily. In fact, they are probably happy John the CEO, or yuppies Mike and Susan down the st with a BMW are losing their shirts when markets are in the red daily.

Like everyone else, I rode the roller coaster of Dow/Nasdaq 1999-2000. I had some stocks triple, and also had drop 80%. I remember one stock rose $18 in one day. But then another had a 4 pm after-hours earnings bust and the stock dropped 50% from $44 to I think $22..... National Semiconductors circa summer 2000. Lost my shirt on that one.

But when the markets are riding the wave of upturns, people with nothing on the line make a stink that others are getting rich.

That's jealousy.

People should be concerned with their own finances, and not worry what John, Mike or Susan make. What do I care if John makes $5M a year, Mike and Susan make $100,000 each, or if Bryce Harper makes $25M/yr swinging a bat? I don't. I don't care what my peers at work make either. Who knows, maybe that guy down the hall who does lousy work makes more than me. You never know, and who cares. I worry about what I make and how I handle my assets.

I know a guy who has a crappier job, but lives in a place DOUBLE what I have. He and his wife bought a big home at cheap prices 10 years ago (Toronto GTA market is red hot). His home has literally tripled from $500k to $1.8M. That blows past my home. Someone people will be jealous. For me, shyt, good on him for risking buying a home at that time for big bucks, but it grew exponentially. That's awesome news. But to some, they'll thinki he's an unworthy lucky azzhole. You snooze, you lose.

If people put money into boring market index funds when Obama took over, a person't portfolio should have rose an avg of 10% a year (compounded too) for 8 years in a row!

Scott Trade requires an initial deposit of 2500. I'm not sure it's a question of people being to lazy to setup investments or just not having a chunk of spare money like that. I know I don't.
