I'm enjoying the show for the most part. I grew up on watching awards shows, and I for one wasn't entirely impressed with the award presentations. I'm not against premieres, but I feel like the games and the people behind them deserve better representation. An example being how in the Academy Awards, they'll give you examples of the sound design nominees, even giving behind the scenes footage sometimes of them recording. It's often a common critique of mine, and one I'll continue to bring up until they improve on that aspect.

Not much of note tonight. Oh well.

The wait for Hollow Knight news continues on.

A little bummed there was no Slime Rancher 2 news. (I'm serious.)

They need to stop making every game trailer have a female narrator and these trailers are getting so obvious. The women always beat up the guys if it's a game where both fight, if it's a game with created characters the female version is always shown now and they ALWAYS are the voice lol.

As far as the new games shown I think Suicide Squad looks amazing and like a lot of fun, ARC Raiders looks good but I wish it wasn't an MP game, I thought Hellblade 2 looked odd and nowhere near as good as that in engine (on high end PC) trailer they showed a few years ago, maybe if they dialed down the chromatic aberration by about 90% it would look better but they really need to stop with those "in engine" videos if they don't want people to be disappointed when they actually show the game. The gameplay portions of the Horizon FW trailer looked great as well, can't wait to play that.

Tried my hand at those youtube shorts Papa Keighley wanted us to make. It was initially only a quickly thrown together thing for art direction, but Psychonauts 2 losing to Deathloop, Guardians of the Galaxy, and It Takes Two in their respective categories left me a bit flabbergasted.

I'm not going to complain about which game won GOTY or any of the others, awards about subjective things are nothing to be upset about plus if you haven't played all of the nominees how can you really have an informed opinion anyway?

I will say it's cool that so many companies are going the extra mile to make games accessible to as many people as possible, that clip they showed of the guy who had been in the motorcycle accident and was able to play on his xbox without any real hand function was very nice. It was odd that was immediately followed by an add but it's nice that so many companies want to make sure that people who already have a hard enough time in life can find a way to have the little escape the rest of us get with gaming.

I can’t be the only one who couldn’t wait for those boobs to fall out. Until I saw her face. Then imagined a brown bag over her face….

Lots of games on that list NOT there. Another fraud.

Another fraud? The Twitter guy that said Indiana Jones claim.

So many frauds.
List seemed realistic because it wasn’t mindblowing at all. Turns out even THAT mild list was too high of expectations… LOL.

I'm rarely bugged by woke' agendas like some are, but that show couldn't have done more virtue signaling if it tried. How does a 3 and a half hour show full of 3 hours of blatant corporate whoring, commercials, and ads feel qualified to preach to us? The direction of the show makes little sense to me. Spend all your time on commercials and trying to promote a holier than thou agenda, and then completely gloss over the awards and only give people a tiny amount of time to speak when you do acknowlege they won. Why even pretend it's an award show any more?

Everyone is watching for the "ads" and not the awards though
