But what I will say in defense of consumers is we hardly get accurate info to inform us of a games state. Looks how all the BG3 reviews ignored the issues. Look how youtubers/streamers spread mis information.
Yes, in an ideal world companies wouldn't take the piss and would release finishied products and fix issues in a timely manner, but that would doesn't exist. Consumers hold all the power but just want to pass the buck and do nothing.
