The joycon can convey the sensation of icecumes in a glass
That's oddly specific... I hope that that's the ONLY sensation it can convey. Like, you're running along the beach in Zelda, and you can tell that you're ice cubes are melting.

Or youre in a snow world in Mario, and you can feel your ice cubes getting stuck to the edge of the glass.

But nothing else!

It turned out having the 2nd best rated exclusives this gen.

With all of these posts in the Switch related threads...I assume you are getting Switch day one right?
Maybe.

I got the Wii U white basic system at launch and it even had a $50 pre-order promo rebate. So I got it for $250 CDN.

Problem is, I couldn't sell it for a profit, so I refunded it and got my money back. Online sites were flooded with them and nobody made money off it. I couldn't even sell it for $300, when my price was $250 + 13% tax = $282, since demand dried up near Xmas. Store shelves even had some at Xmas. And I paid cash for it and even offered buyers the gift receipt in case they changed their mind, or wanted a valid receipt in case something went wrong with it.

People couldn't even get rid of the black system as everyone was selling them at almost breakeven pricing.

Supply outstripped demand, and that was at Xmas. Right from there, I knew Wii U was doomed.

Confirmed

- Online voice chat and lobbies is through a smartphone app
- Connect your own ear buds to your phone to do voice chatting through the app. So it looks like to chat you have to use a earpiece that has a mic, or leave your phone on speaker mode
- Will be a paid service later on

So it looks like Ninty is trying to shovel the interface to your phone, and you tie up your phone chatting on Switch. While Reggie is promoting it as a great idea, it seems to me like they did this to save on the system's HDD and OS ram usage.

By the sounds of it on GAF, in order to do MP stuff with gamers chatting, you have to do the smartphone app way. It doesn't look like you can do it on the system/tablet itself by plugging in a headset into the tablet. You have to do it all with your own phone beside you.

The funny thing is whenever people would brag about cross game/party chat being a game changer i would always say cool, Microsoft reinvented the telephone. I mean, did i miss something or if i really wanted to chat with friends couldn't i just.. get on the phone with them?

Now Nintendo is literally reinventing the telephone with this new app. Hey, at least they're doing something. Still waiting for an achievement/trophy system confirmation though. That would be big for the Switch.

I'm guessing it'll convey the sense of buyer's remorse pretty well after finishing Zelda!

I'll be here all week, folks!

Feel like Sterling really nailed it. I am a huge Nintendo guy and this console is completely dry to me.

And so it begins

Don't Expect Borderlands 3 on Nintendo Switch, Gearbox CEO Says

Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford said on Twitter today, as spotted by IGN, that discussions with Nintendo fell apart "for some reason."

"I do not see that as happening," he said to a fan who asked about a Switch version of Borderlands 3. "We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities."

I think you had a typo in regards to ,'literally' and 'reinventing' and you meant to say "are offloading from the CPU with effects that compromise/aren't promised to work whilst not docked'.

Common typo. Sometimes I tell my Brother "thanks for visiting!" When I actually mean "I hope a jagged brick falls from the roof of the building as you walk out, and you poop yourself"

As I Said in another topic I can get a brand new U with MK 8 and Zelda for £100 less than a switch that comes with 0 games
Even if costs are a non-factor and you don't care about expensive second controllers and online fees, it really comes down to if grab and go tablet gaming and party play with Joy Cons are that important for you. If it is, then there isn't any other piece of hardware out there that can do it. In which you'll bite the bullet. It's not like Switch graphics are that much better than Wii U.

So it really comes down to whether the above that important for you.

If not, a Wii U black system can probably be found used for $200 (I'm guessing here), has free online (although maybe it's dead... but at least free), but at least you know the games out. It doesn't seem like many games will come out for it down the line (except Zelda), but at least you can choose from the existing 100s of games.

For Switch, who knows what will happen.

When Ninty is promoting a custom Switch version of FIFA and a 6 year old Skyrim, you know the software support will be thin.

One thing's for sure, I expect prices of Wii U's to drop soon as Ninty gamers will be trading them in to Gamestop. This will hammer down new and used console prices. So just wait it out for a big bargain bundle.

Wow, it just keeps getting worse. Now they are saying the Switch doesn't have a web browser or Netflix. Even the DS has Netflix for goodness sakes! And they are going to be charging for online service?!? Going by the overpricing of everything else I am scared to think what they are going to charge for online play w/ phone chat.

I don't see how the sum of playing 2 games (Zelda at launch and Mario 9 months later {hopefully}) can equate to laying out an additional $400 (ya gotta get a Pro controller). For that same money there is the likelihood of affording a Scorpio with a YUGE library of entertainment.

Is the new Zelda and Mario going to be THAT good? If they Meta at 11 then I guess so for a couple million rabid gamers. To get to 10 million you are going to have to bring in a number of casuals and multi-consolers. How many gamers live in Japan because I don't see the West opting for this over an X1 or PS4.

Huh? Wii U has been dead...Switch will have at at least as many (NEW)years worth of content as the Wii U did or more if it ends up more successful.
Go buy a dead console lol

Not buying either but if I just wanted to play zelda then the U is the better value.
