Phil Spencer on the Switch


"Our relationship with Nintendo is great," Spencer said on the latest episode of IGN's Xbox show Unlocked, noting he had to opportunity to play Nintendo Switch early and thinks "they've done some really innovative work."

The Xbox boss went on to say he "love the hardware design" and believes that "anytime Nintendo brings a new product to the gaming market it's good for all of us."

Ok, I am golden for launch:

Neon Switch - ready for pickup at BestBuy. I am going at Midnight tonight just to watch all the fun and stroll by those who have been waiting for hours (there are already a couple dozen people in line 6 hours ahead). Also got the regular Zelda there.

Special Edition Zelda - Coming from Walmart next Friday.

Extra Neon Controller - Shipping from Amazon arriving next Tuesday.

Pro Controller - Shipped from Best Buy, here tomorrow
3 Zelda Amiibos - Shipped from Best Buy, here tomorrow

Comfort Grip - Amazon, March 31st delivery (meh).


Unfortunately I must work tomorrow so I likely won't start playing until Friday night.
 
I'm thinking about going to the midnight launch at GS. But I have to be at work at 7am.

Should I brave it or wimp out? Lol
 
Reviews of the console are glowing. This may be Nintendo's return to form.

Been playing Zelda for an hour...in my bed.

Freaking amazing game that has done everything crazy I throw at it. I didnt think I would ever play it undocked but I was wrong. More to come...

As much as I want one, my dusty Wii U keeps reminding me that I barely played that thing, and I'll probably barely play the Switch.
 
if it had netflix, youtube, twitch and browser i would have bought it

but no way is it worth it just for zelda, just gotta get through the launch hype lol

Dusted off my Wii U and brought out my games to prepare to trade it in. Can't bring myself to get rid of it. What's with these crazy mixed emotions?!?! Damn you, Switch hype.

Ensure your console has the latest system update.

Ensure the Joy-Con controllers are charged. How to

Try to decrease the distance between the Joy-Con and the Nintendo Switch console.

Ensure that the Nintendo Switch console is placed to minimize interference with the Joy-Con. It is best if the Nintendo Switch console is placed out in the open and that it is not:

-Behind a TV
-Near an aquarium
-Placed in or under a metal object
-Pressed against a large amount of wires and cords
-Within three to four feet of another wireless device, such as a wireless speaker or a wireless access point.

Check for possible sources of interference and turn them off. Interference can be caused by devices, such as:

-Cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc.
-Wireless headsets
-Wireless printers
-Microwaves
-Wireless speakers
-Cordless phones
-USB 3.0-compatible devices such as hard drives, thumb drives, LAN adapters, etc.

In most cases it will be enough to move these devices three to four feet away from the Nintendo Switch console and/or Joy-Con controllers. However, if you continue to experience this issue, please power these devices off while using the Nintendo Switch console.

it would add value.. and currently game wise it doesnt provide much value

i always toyed with the idea of buying a tablet but cant justify it fully, but put it together with a gaming console then its a no brainer

I was messing around with the idea of getting a Switch for my boy, but the lack of netflix, browsers, etc kills it. He needs something that plays Minecraft and Roblox anyway.

One amazing game is really not enough.

My walmart says it's in stock, but I think they don't update the damn thing.
