I am thinking the minimum spec (like some rumors are suggesting) will be very similar to the xbo s having hdr.4k upscaling and 4k streaming.
If NX is a handheld that can stream to different devices/tv's and has Xbox One S like power. I'd be all over it.
CD Projekt Red says the NX is "fantastic." This is a translation of an interview in German:
Host: What do you know about NX?
Fabian: It will be fantastic. As developer [CD Projekt] you get access to the hardware and everybody [at CD Projekt] is looking forward. We know things.
Host: Are you lying now?

And then...
Host: But the hardware will be much worse than the new Xbox.
Fabian: I think this will never again be the main emphasis in the future [for Nintendo]. Can it [NX] be better than the new Xbox? Take a realistic point of view: is Nintendo able to build a console that has got more power than Xbox?

Fabian: Affordable? Do they have the contacts to the industrial facilities, resources… [Shakes head several times in denial] And what would be the positive outcome? Who is going to develop games for it?
Which means exactly what i said before...it doesn't have to be as powerful as the Neo or Scorpio and devs will still for years thats right years to come still develop around the current gen consoles which the NX at a minimum will be.
Well, Nintendo's style will certainly fit just fine at current gen tech. It's just not going to set anyone's hair on fire. Let's just hope Zelda, despite looking like a great game, isn't the only big hitter Ninty has avaiable at launch.
They really need to come in with a bang, or people will shrug and say that they really want Zelda, but one game isn't enough to justify the plunge...
Yeah, I don't think anyone expected the NX to be a super-powered console, tech-wise. I just found it interesting that CD Projekt Red would call it "fantastic." I don't think they mean "fantastic" as in "fantastically powerful." They are just happy about it, for some unknown reason. I think that's a positive sign, especially coming from them.
Not that it necessarily means 3rd parties are going to rush to develop for it. We'll have to see about that.
Just remember, those kinds of remarks were made about the Wii as well. And I know certain people like to point out that the Wii sold so well, but Nintendo shouldn't be chasing the gimmick demographic- that's not going to work again.
My Wii... Er.. my Last Nintendo console was a Wii. Yep, I bought one... And I barely played it. My wife liked it for about a month because of the fitness game. We had the balance board too. I sold it off because it didn't have anything I (or my wife) wanted to play on it. That's why they need to hurry up and give us some specs and footage.
Zelda looks awesome, but if that's all they got... and how long between that and the next? It took an entire generation to get another Zelda, and it was a transition game too. If the rumors turn out correct, and the architecture is indeed it's own thing, then that doesn't spell successful wooing of 3rd party devs either.
I hope I am wrong, but I just don't get why they wouldn't show the thing at E3? That doesn't give me confidence that they learned anything.
CD project build beautiful games, but they are notorious resource hogs.
Maybe there is more Oomphf in it than we expect? They haven't had a game on a Nintendo console in the past have they?
Maybe they have a deal coming up? I'd love to see a collaboration between them.
Yeah, who knows. I don't think it's anything to hang our hats on. Everyone sh*ts on the NX so much, I just thought it was noteworthy to hear something positive from a respected developer. They might've just been being polite.
Maybe that stupid Gwent game. I can't see them porting Witcher. They're upcoming game (the cyberpunk one) will be beyond the reach of the NX.
They could be legitimately excited if it's something different (likely). People Are s***ting on NX because
1.There is no concrete info
2. We all want to see them be great again and the rumors don't seem to indicate righting the ship. I honestly think the Flak Nintendo gets is because we are upset that they seem to be chasing that Wii mess that sent them in a niche direction.
With x84 based...A XBO equivalent NX would good enough,PS4 equivalent NX would be GREAT and specs that are better than PS4 would AMAZING
"A major French publication is reporting..." I assume we're talking rumor. Would be nice if true.
Here's what Nintendo has to do, to sell me: 1) deliver a normal console with a normal controller, not some weird gimmicky thing; 2) decent specs, on par with X1 and PS4 (Neo would be bonus points); 3) Zelda; 4) remastered Mario Kart 8 and/or Skyward Sword at or near release; and 5) some form of BC, so I could play the earlier Zeldas (e.g., the updated Wii U versions of Wind Waker and the other one) without buying a Wii U, if I wanted to.
I'm not concerned about 3rd party support myself, unless we're talking about exclusives. I can't see myself playing multiplats on a Nintendo console.
And 6) don't go crazy with their fees for their BC. You're milking old games. You're going to be selling these same games on phones for $20 in a few years, or rereleasing them on Gameboy again, but with a feature where you blow into a microphone/wind turbine or some stupid thing.
Square have managed to stay afloat by its back catalogue/online games.
Its also funny seeing people boasting "As good as Xbox one" as a positive trait, when they poopoo that exact same power, every chance they get.
I hope they have a Zelda, a Mario/luigi and another big game at reveal. Makes me wish they still had Rare.
