The last scene of First Man should be clipped off and replaced by AMERIKA by Rammstein.

Now is when I wish I had an indoor bike. Tons of rain the past several days and looks like it's going to continue through most of the upcoming week. I went Saturday evening after it was dry at least for that day, and the trail wasn't too bad except for one part that was muddy. Since then the rain has been too frequent to make it work the risk of going. Almost feel like trying to find a gym in town that has spin bikes or something.

That said, in the down time I really should clean my bike as I haven't in a while, especially the chain. Maybe the one positive for the rain...

I’m really sick and tired of people getting offended by everything. The new hate train is the upcoming film First Man with it not featuring the planting of the American flag on the moon in the the film so people are jumping to the conclusion that this movie is now un-American. Not like these people have actually seen the movie before jumping to this conclusion. What a bunch of idiots.

Anyway this releases around my birthday I’m looking forward to seeing it in theater.
It's pretty strange seeing an amerikan movie without an amerikan flag slowly blowing in the wind, usually you put it at the end when all bad guys are dead or the hero sacrificed himself for the greater good.

I Googled this story and apparently the Flag is in some background shots. They just don't focus on Neil Armstrong actually planting the flag.

Anyway, I hope all these goofball patriots are Pro-NASA funding instead of slashing the budgets.

This artistic decision continues through the actual moon landing, and The Telegraph reported that the film doesn’t include a scene in which Armstrong plants the American flag on the moon, which kicked off a firestorm of complaints that the film was unpatriotic from folks who haven’t yet seen the movie. This is somewhat false—during the moon landing sequence, the scene dwells more on Armstrong looking back at Earth and considering the accomplishment he just made in the name of mankind. But the flag isi n the scene and is visible in multiple shots, according to those that have actually seen the movie.

Gosling was asked about this decision at a press conference in Venice, and he responded that his portrayal of Armstrong is true to how the real Neil Armstrong felt about his herculean feat:
“I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement [and] that’s how we chose to view it. I also think Neil was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts, and time and time again he deferred the focus from himself to the 400,000 people who made the mission possible.”

I don't want to go to work today. My companies 2nd customer is lame and never takes holidays off so their forklift guys get extra holiday pay; so that means I have to shuttle trailers to the docks. Oh well, I'll probably only work 1 or 2 hours tops.

The flag is in the damn movie but since it doesn’t show him planting the flag and screaming “this is for Merica’!” people got butthurt.

Rip car battery. Or at least I hope that is all it is. Should have seen it coming to be honest. Stock battery in a car purchased in 07 lol. From oil changes they said it's getting down there but just had one done like a month ago and nothing said. Past few weeks periodically while starting it would be a little harder than normal to turn over, but then the next time it would fire right up. Today absolutely nothing but starter clicking.

Tomorrow is first day of school so couldn't have happened at a better time. Luckily only live about a mile from an AutoZone so I walked and picked up a jump pack. Hope it can charge enough over night and get me going for at least the next couple of days until I can get the battery replaced. Probably could have just replaced the battery but I doubt I have the correct tools, and a bit of corrosion around the terminals anyways so meh. I'll pay someone $10 to do it for me.

Holy hell you weren't kidding about being lazy.

I'm joking. It's almost guaranteed to just be the battery. 7 years is about how long the battery has lasted in every new car I've ever owned. Then replacement batteries you'll be lucky to get 4-5 years out of.

I signed up for The Athletic this past weekend. First of all the website and app are light years beyond those for Wapo or New York Times. Not only is there a way to save articles that sync between web/app, but it also grays out and puts a check mark on articles you have already read. Plus being able to set up your feed to be just whatever leagues or teams you want is great.

Can't wait for some good hot takes on a s*** Bulls season.

Doesn't matter if you're a conservative, unless you just drive by post in the political thread and not provide anything of substance. So far no Trump supporters have been able to do anything but most memes or share verifiably false info from garbage sites like InfoWars and Breitbart.

I don't follow any big news organizatioIn Its mostly one sided trash. i follow local news thats all i need.
