Did nothing to sway me. I just do not understand what makes this controller worth spending more than twice the money on.
If you are ultra competitive and do competitions and stuff, then yeah, maybe it is worth it, but for a normal gamer who just plays games...just not seeing it.
I'd certainly hope it's the best he's ever used.
The buttons underneath and longer sticks are the biggest deal, when it comes to actually playing, imo. I remember hoping that would be a part of the base design when this gen started. It just makes so much more sense to have them there. For me:
-Adjustable height sticks are great, and longer thumbsticks are way more comfortable for me as I have large hands.
-Programmable buttons = bumper jumper configs for Halo (if it doesn't have one) and Destiny. Being able to jump while never taking your thumb off of your aim stick is huge.
-Adjustable pressure on the triggers - this will be much more comfortable say in Destiny using a scout rifle where you are firing shot after shot
-Buttons underneath = using manual clutch in Forza and faster lap times
Mine not arriving until Wednesay. Amazon screwed up yet again on an Xbox preorder.
I want the Elite controller for those rubber grips alone. They look so comfortable.
People who are complaining about the price of this controller are using their top of the line smartphones and super pricey Beats headphones.
This controller is absolutely magnificent.
This though is the same thing you already have just with 4 extra buttons that provide no extra input.
No need to explain this bad boy, there is fixin' to be some serious controller envy going on when The Elites start mowing down the minions on the battlefields, racetracks, and fields.

Maybe we should put it to the test, if you are getting one.
When you get your new controller do some Rivals events in Forza 6, and I will try to beat the time with my normal controller.
#Skillvsgimmicks.
Being able to use manual clutch should actually make people a little faster (if they choose this option). In past games, manual shifting is faster, and manual with a clutch (which most of us can't do with a default controller) is even faster, especially in the lower end cars.
I know in past games you could shave off a second or more on the Top Gear star in a slow car challenge using all manual + manual clutch.
It is faster.
but are you faster enough with it
