I have always wondered if puresoul was MisterX or MisterC, if he's either, then he's busy...

I actually think he was also MisterX.....been busy since the XB1 reveal running damage control on his '2nd GPU' thesis.

Have to hand it to him though....the guy writes some amazing fiction.

Actually I'm pretty sure he is also the "insider" at his site.
But it have always been fun to read his fantasies and the answers from his fantasy friend :-D

Some of the responses from Xbox fanboys:

"Breakness awaits"
"KA-KA-KA-KARMA BREAKER!"
"How does that blank screen look in 1080p?"

Like seriously, they are nuking that article worse than any PlayStation fanboy did to Xbox articles. It's quite entertaining actually.

Just more proof that if Sony fan boys are the worst, it's a trillion-way tie with every other group of fanboys out there including the MS fanboys. It's like driving through the South - "Thank God, I'm out of Alabama... oh, crap, now I'm in Mississippi."

This comment should be sticky on every forum. Whether its football, video games or other "us vs them" type of talk.

Take your own advice and be wary, the X1 may have it's own issues...

...and shame on 'gamers' who are happy about this, anyone happy is more a corporate cheerleader than a gamer.

Gamers are too busy waiting for their systems. This is all about fanboys. The distinction is easy - people who are excited about what they're going to get to do with their system of choice? Those folk are gamers, and they're all right. People who are excited to tell other people why they made the wrong choice? Fanboys, and they suck.

Trust me, I'm smiling at these, but it's the one in the middle we should really focus on. I don't know if I believe in karma, but this is a chance for us to take the high road and show the other side some compassion (and class).

I don't want a plastic brick next week, nor do I wish that on anyone else.

Word! And let's also take this opportunity to reflect that while the console warriors (note the letter 's' there) are all piss and vinegar, the execs at these companies do respect each other and many of them play games on the other's consoles because they are at heart gamers as well. Celebrate gaming for what it is - good fun!

He was the MisterAlpha and the MisterOmega, the beginning and the end. For Microsoft so loved the world that the GPU sent its only begotten second GPU, that whosoever believeth in it should not perish, but have everlasting 1080p. And it was good.

I've spent years living in MS, GA, and AL so I can confirm this.

some of those comebacks are pretty funny and albeit deserved. When you go around boasting for months about how your console is the best thing since sliced bread then you will take heat when it disappoints initially. Just like a sports team that has all the hype going into the season then they start the season winless the first couple games they will take a beating by fans and media.

So as it stands. There is a little over 7 days now until Xbox One can be ours. However, even this close to launch, I still haven't decided whether I'm buying my games digitally or not.

It has been on my mind since the announcement of Xbox One. I truly can't make my mind up. I'll be getting FIFA as a download for free. I can be a bit OCD with things and part of me wants to go digital just to keep my entire library digital. The other part of my OCD wants to sell the digital code for FIFA and buy it on disc so I can buy every game on disc.

Am I the only one who has this little problem? There is no way I'll be going half digital/half retail.

I only find it slightly amusing for the very annoying folks at NeoGAF, the ones who would do the exact same thing if the roles were reversed. The incredibly childish people during E3 on IGN livefeed, completely trashing the Xbox One and how they should bow down to master Sony. It got so ridiculous that you couldn't even have a normal conversation there anymore. You've never seen me trolling the Sony forum or anything else, and neither would i laugh and make these jokes about faulty PS4's. For the people that acted like a grown up, simply were awaiting their PS4 and didn't bash Xbox One and Xbox fans in general....for them i find it really sad. For the trolls and idiots...karma!

So what exactly is the matter with faulty PS4's anyway? Cause this is the first time i'm reading it. But then...i also just logged onto the internet.

There is no wrong choice, both sides need to understand that.

I don't care about fanboys but at the same time I don't want failing consoles for anyone, even the fanboys and we have our own here too. I don't want them suffer either.

Im getting 6 games at launch, ryse, dead rising and battlefield will be coming on disk, Cod, FIFA and killer instinct digital. Part of me is annoyed that i wont have the boxes for some of those game. And for me i dont want to go fully digital till there is competitive pricing. Weve been told for years when it happens it will be cheaper as there is not distribution or packaging costs. Then they all end up selling for more than retail. Thats a huge concern for me. What i think i'll be doing is mainly going physical and then if there is a sale on (i bought devil may cry for £10 today woo) i'll pick it up. Plus with my hardrive being filled easily id rather have a game on a disk to install rather than dowloading it repeatedly.

A few reports have said it could be that the HDMI port may be faulty. I think one of IGN's PS4's had this problem. And i just saw a video on Gaf that linked to youtube where a guy filmed his problems. The picture was very distorted, looked like a video signal problem. Maybe a GPU issue or again the HDMI port? Hope its not widespread. Too many folks paying allot of money for a fun day they've been waiting for for a long time. Its not fun and I should know. Because I had a 360 die on me 2 weeks after launch, luckily the manager at a GameStop allowed me to return it instead of having to contact Microsoft back then.

Another thing to consider with digital this time round both consoles are going to sell every game released via a marketplace. And sure at this early stage probabally only 5% of consumers will own both. however in 2-3 years when that numbers closer to say 30-40% they will slash costs all over the place to beat their competitor to sales. Which can only be good news for us consumers :) Plus since xbox first started selling digital retail games, theyve come along way. At first they were selling 2-3 year old games for £40-50 now they realise if a games old stick it up for £15-20 which yes may still be more than retail but shows they adapting. So i may be willing to embrace a full digital future just not yet. (unless they bring back that gorgeous family sharing plan, *drools*)

It seems to be a heat issue. There are plenty of youtube vids showing demo kiosks freezing/crashing, now all the current reports, plus the fact that no one has seen a retail PS4 until recently. All very concerning, IMO. Also, I know people love to laugh at supposed "insiders'" rumors, but several them have been talking about PS4 overheating for months now.

This is just one quote taken from Oct 17th:
"PS4 should come with a pack in fire extinguisher :) It is the hottest console to date I have seen 3 crash so far. Only one x1 and that was pc hardware due to sdk .net studio problems. But it worked after a reboot cant say the same for ps4."

From 2 weeks ago:
"The big thing about balance is not all ways about gpu/cpu. It is also about Heat. When you put gpu/cpu/power brick/gddr5 all in a small case there goes your balance. Dont be fooled by the lies. Even with fail safes built in this system is poorly designed and problems are going to happen.

With the next gen user base being zero right now.. Every body can understand there is a lot of cash and investments inplace no dev is going to tell you the truth. Even ms wont comment on ps4 directly. I would let your own eyes and ears tell you the truth if its hot and loud and blurry at lunch it ant going to get any better till 2nd revision. Hot thermals no overheads. :)"

As much as the fanboy fighting is entertaining, I honestly hope this isn't a major deal for Sony. We'll find out soon enough.

The only issue with those questionable insiders is, others have PS4's and they're not overheating... Those insiders make it sound like all will overheat due to the consoles design.

Right now there are about 4k PS4's out there and we have a report of 8 I believe, more will come through, no doubt, but in percentage, let's say we had 15 fail, would that not be within an acceptable fail rate?

Let's not turn this thread into PS4 hardware failure thread. All electronic hardware will have some kind of failure rate including the X1. Let's show some class and not set ourselves up for a fall next week. Not talking about any previous posts because to be fair, it's been pretty civil over here considering all the trolling we've put up with the past few months. Keep up the good work guys.

I tried mentioning this on the playstation thread and no one listened. The majority of ps4's out in the wild are from a taco bell competition, now im english so i dont know the taco bell's usual customers but im going to assume alot of them arnt the type to moan on twitter or stir up a frenzy on gaf. most would likely just call up sony and deal with it without fuss... because these are people who got it for free. and will still get it for free...

I thought about the same thing also but we'll never really know just how big of an issue it is, on the flip side, people with issues are always the ones to make the most noise if you know what I mean?

Generally a happy customer is a quiet one.

I plan on going all digital this time because I hate swapping disk. But here in the states this buy 2 get one free deal that Target has going on is extremely tempting....

Guess you're right. People who get things for free tend to be civil because they didn't pay for it with there hard earned money. But the people who pre-ordered the console are going to cause a s*** storm when this turns out to be a wide spread problem.

i was only trying to be supportive on there though. I know alot of people like to moan at the apposing brand on the internet, but they are gamers who've spent a considerable amount of money and it cant be nice having something they've been waiting since feb for break....

I dunno when im happy a purr like a walrus makes a right noise! some examples:-
  • opening a case....... thats a purr
  • sniffing a collectors guide.... thats a purr
  • unlocking a 100 point achievement ..... the walls will echo with the immense purring!

Have they announced this for the X1 games yet?

There's a failure rate for all electronics, and there will be for X1 too. But the other console has been annonced (mostly by fans) as a very big event, a perfect product, nearly like the Second Coming of C.
Therefore it's very good to see that it's just a electronic device, with failures and bugs, like all other devices. just my 2c ;)
