This is an outstanding benefit to those of us who have, for example, 8 year old gamers who tend to end up somehow leaving controllers in couch cushions and 2 year olds who love to grab remotes, phones, controllers, or anything else with lights and throwing/dropping them various places.

There's quite a huge stir that X1's OS and MP connectivity is in very very bad shape right now. MS has less than 1 month to fix it all.
If MS launches X1 with lots of bugs, I just don't know what to say. For a company that big with that amount of resources, dedicated team working on this for years.
I just hope all is well for those getting X1s in a 3 weeks!

It's Microsoft.....one of the most successful companies in the world and a leading one. There's no way they're gonna release a console with loads of issues, they'll fix it before launch (that's if there even is issues).
Says who? Some rumors without a clear source? I don't doubt that the development process would have had some - lots of - issues, but since there are whole bunch of X1 retail kiosks running everywhere, I wouldn't worry. Hell, it's not just for you, but go to any non-gaming tech site and see how X1 is received. Nobody is reporting such issues (and they are very very sensitive to rumors that make sense) and the console is surprisingly very well received. So for now, I wouldn't worry anything. It would be a shame if it's that messy, but many facts make me think that's not the case here.
Will the OS has bugs/issues? probably, I don't think I have ever once seen a software product launch without some form of issue. Will it be a huge mess and unusable? no lol, If you want to have an idea at worst case just look at their various Windows launches, whether that be on PC, tablet, or phone.
Right it might be rumors after all but it IS causing a stir in the gaming community. I am hoping that if there is a problem that MS fixes it before launch. I am sure they are manning war rooms from now until after launch 24/7.

Come to think of it, there is one thing that's really strange about that quote. VOIP means the voice talk stuff right? Why woulnd't MS designers replace that OS level VOIP API with something that comes from Skype, when it's the center of Microsoft ecosystem?
Yep. Same with Titanfall releasedate and CE announcement, soon rumours were created saying it would be 720p. If Kinect Sports was a just as big franchise, I bet you'd be seeing a bad rumour about that too in about an hour or so, because some good news just surfaced.
One of their mods (Bish I think) even stoked the flames and sent people into a frenzy with a tease about exchanging PM's with that guy CBOAT. Basically saying that if what CBOAT has said in PM's to him are true about additional XB1 problems that GAF is going to go into s***storm mode and he'll be in a bunker. Then he leaves the the thread and doesn't follow up with anything. It's quite fishy and does reek of trying to generate additional traffic to the site.
We all know what a large portion of GAF's community is about. It doesn't need to be continually recycled. Can we stop the GAF talk, mmmmmmmmmk?
Let me just say one thing: that site is quite influential. So much so that other forums comment about posts made there, executives tweet about them, and corporate PR sign-up and comment there.
Well, I suppose it serves Microsoft right for thinking silence on the issue was going to make it all better. It just continues to get worse and worse.
Microsoft seriously needs to respond to these rumors, and it doesn't even matter if it is true that its 720p. They have to relieve their customers anxiety by assuring them that they are still getting a quality product. Because letting these rumors float around is making them lose control of their message.

Trust me, this is not reaching any farther than hardcore gaming communities. It's not like back in E3 where used game policy became an issue everywhere. If Microsoft takes it serious, now that's going to be an issue.
I think what we need to recognize is, no matter what forums out there say, we just need more news, the more real news the better.
The way I look at it, we need to make this place thrive. I see no problem discussing other forums but we need to bring some life to the party here!

I think the vast majority wont even know what the resolutions are, only the core that frequent these types of forums and follow the journalists know, and they don't make up the majority.
I would actually like to second this PV. Can we have a thread specifically created for rumors, BS, FUD, the X1 apocalypse, delusions of grandeur etc? That way it would make things easier to instead choose to go into a thread and know what to expect, versus going into a certain thread and finding baseless FUD by accident. Thats annoying...
