The Xbox Onesie

So cortana has gotten better since then first release it? Back then it was the worst thing that ever happened to my Xbox.

My PS Pro and Xbox One games all install at the same speed. Though that is digital only. I never buy discs, so I wouldn't know the install time on those.

Is it really an issue? It's a one time thing per game.

I normally whack the disc in (If I didnt buy the game digitally) and then watch a movie/pluck my eyebrows/do anything else. If you're too impatient, you could always just buy digital and pre-load the game?

If you're playing recent AAA PC games, you should be pretty used to long install times.
Well I'm spoiled with Wii U really. It may sound odd, but those load times seem like a blessing compared to what you get on an Xbox One. I also don't like to have install times on a console, it is a petty thing from my side. I don't mind as much with a PC, as it is a home computer, but with a console I somehow find it.. excruciating.

Mine usually take around 30 mins to install. Plus you can already start playing after so much installs. A weird nitpicking thing to have a problem with.

Oh, it isn't just nitpicking, I would have loved it we would go to a flash card based console in the Next Gen. And somehow I find it too... PC Like to be a console if I need to install things. Might sound odd, and maybe I'm impatient, but I just have this thing for "plug and play" when I"m hanging in a lazy chair and a controller in my hands.

Installs were generally pretty quick for me. And game updates were basically instantaneous. Unlike another console where game updates aren't bad, but can have you waiting for a few minutes.
So how much do you say that this depends on the speed of your Internet connection? LIke I only can get ADSL (at the lowest speed to. It's Telenor with "OLD LINES RAAAAAAAH!" as their usual excuse) here, so I'm pretty much screwed in that regard.

Guess it depends on the game but usually 30 minutes. Not anywhere near as fast as PS4 installs but not nearly as bad as they were at launch. Never bothered me either way. People laughed at PS3 having mandatory installs last gen and i was just like okay. It sucks at times, but there's other things to do while a game installs like make a sandwich or something.
Thanks for the information, as for the Sandwich advice, I don't think you've met Telenor yet ;).

Cortana is great. Once you get the hang of giving her a second to think, and now it shows you your words immediately so you can see how accurately it hears you. I can speak normally and be confident it will work even if it isn't instant (sometimes it is). I hope Scorpio speeds it up a tad.

And is this talking to your Kinect or through the mic? When I was using Cortana I was using Kinect. At that point Cortana was just not working for me at all. Most of the time when I spoke it'd just show Cortana processing and then it would eventually give up. Normal Xbox commands worked flawlessly though and always have.

So, no Kinect port on Scorpio means 2 things:
  1. Kinect v2 that shipped with Xbox One is officially dead (even more dead than with no port with the S release)
  2. IF there is ever another revision (would be tied to a VR capability, and possibly Skype), that version would probably include a 4K camera and utilize the USB port instead. I would suspect it would somehow have to be cheaper to make, as well as be backward compliant with Kinect v2.
Yes, I actually can see #2 as a possibility. I would just REALLY need a new purpose. Like I said, VR and Skype are the two biggest I can really think of.

I'm sure the USB dongle that they sell for $40 will still work on Scorpio.

But my dream is for a new Kinect that works really well.

Oh, I agree that Kinect will work fine with Scorpio and the adapter. I guess I should have said "Dead in spirit". I didn't mean to imply that it wouldn't work.

My thought is that a Kinect revision (v3) could still be coming at some point, and that version won't likely need the dongle/adapter anymore. See reasons above for them to actually go through with this.

I think the recent update made Cortana respond much faster for me. Anyone else notice this?

Diablo is always juat a tiny bit more than I want to pay.

It's worth it. They just added Seasons to consoles and a new class is coming soon. Game is as addictive as ever.
I just feel it'll be a GwG at some point and I don't really have time right now anyway so I'd like to see 14.99.

Picked up ScreamRide for $7.50. Always wanted to try that, but didn't want to pay full price for it. Not really seeing anything interesting that I don't already have.
