Okay, since you have asked, I'll clarify. I don't care that he's "protecting" his family. I care that his family is trying to profit off of UVGF.

Say wat??

I didn't get that impression. I was under the impression that his bro took the pics and planned on selling them (elsewhere, not on UVGF). nervous is just showing them on here because he promised it to us. If one of us wants to buy one we go to his bros site. I could be wrong though.

you on the money with this. I just wanted to share this here with all of you guys but IF you want a raw copy you can buy it. Its not that hard to understand.

Did you get to test out the dashboard? Or was everyone just strictly playing games? Just wondering if any dashboard flipping compares to the demos lately by MS.... (if it's as smooth as the videos promote).

Wait, what? Why on earth would someone buy a photo of a controller? There's actually a market for that? I thought that the controllers were for sale.

I'm going to photograph random video game accessories, slickly light them, and then post them here. I was thinking about starting with an HDMI cable: classic, clean lines, and slightly phallic. Thoughts? Or maybe a stylized close up of the 3 Red Rings. It wouldn't even need a title.

Everyone, please make sure you spread this on GAF! It'll go over like hotcakes! :meh:

I'm kind of surprised that neither console have kiosks at the stores yet. In fact we still have games being ran on PC's. Especially on the PS4 side of things.

Well the PS4 demo kiosks are starting to appear in select Sony stores starting today. But again that isn't a widespread proliferation. I'm beginng to think that both won't make their way into mainstream stores until after launch.

not to good from the video impression posted in the KI thread..
1 person mentioned this? How many have stated in countless topics and threads the D pad is way better? You of course have remind the Xbox section of this 1 opinion. Yeah, pretty sad behaviour IMO...

That was the only other impression I heard as I been following KI and watched the video. In fact besides Nervous impression and the KI video one I haven't heard any other impressions.

Keep trying though okay ;)

News flash from May the D pad is way better. "Just Google it" Or believe the dude with the fat fingers review.

Keep slamming xb1 okay;)

I can tell you the D-Pad works perfect at fish town for KI bro.
Of course it does like everyone else has said but he can't believe you, you're not slamming xb1.

I need to "try harder" though? Really? It is so damn easy it is to discredit everything he posts always. I'm batting a thousand without breaking a sweat. ;)

But here is the thing, that built is really old. They times the command wont work, I think is because its not finished.

He dosent think I'm bullshi*tting him. He read 2 different things.

Was able to stop by the Chicago event very briefly this afternoon. Played a bit of Forza, BF4 and Kinect Sports. Watched people play most of the other demos such as Ryse, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, LocoCycle, etc..

The controller was nice, had a nice feel and fit well for me. Buttons and such were mostly well placed and had nice feedback. However, I did NOT like the click in feel of the analog sticks. Maybe it was the controller I used but the stick click was not very responsive while playing BF4 and trying to sprint. Just felt mushy and shallow.

Kinect seemed to work well for the brief time I played. Was a jet ski demo where you had your arms straight out in front of you while pushing and pulling your arms to turn left and right. Kinect seemed responsive but it was hard to tell if it was more responsive and less laggy than Kinect 1.0. I also couldn't tell if the wider angle camera lens helped.

I would have have liked to see the dashboard and some of the other system features so I guess I'll have to wait until I am able to make a judgement on that aspect of the system.

Unfortunately, I was not that impressed with the games overall. I wasn't expecting to be blown away but the games just seem like they're a small improvement on Xbox 360 games as far as graphics and gameplay. Yes, there are differences but it wasn't making me feel as if I had to get the system at launch cause I'd be missing out on some amazing next-gen experience.

Overall, seemed like a nice system update, almost like an Xbox 360 1.5. This is just my opinion, you may feel differently.

Thanks for your writeup. I love reading actual gamer's reviews versus paid people. There's going to be a lot of advertising dollars spent this holiday and into next year from both Sony and MSFT as they battle for people to buy their respective systems.

I really want to play the demo kiosks once they start becoming available at stores to get a real hands-on with both systems.

Hmm. What I see online doesn't match up to what Wiseguy is describing. But I haven't seen the games in person.

You'd be surprised by how much "online" footage differs from reality.

Hell, everything you see on an E3 stage, etc, is never what the final product looks like.

I remember that Shaun White snowboarding game at a past E3 where they showed the kid coming into the living room and gets on his board and starts having a blast....game was NOTHING like that.

all those games I played are very old builts. I mean you can see it with KI, Forza, DR3, and even Ryse which its a big difference

This is what I am hoping is the case, the games not living up to peoples expectations are earlier builds and not the progressed web video's we're seeing today.

Very well could be that I was seeing older beta builds of these games.

For instance, BF4 had some pretty average textures and needed more anti-aliasing. The lighting in the game engine was decent, but overall BF4 looked marginally better than current gen IMO.

Forza, while being pretty, wasn't jumping out at me either. Graphically it's very good but it's not a big difference from what's out now. I bet if I saw the old and the new version side by side it'd be more apparent. Some extra reflections and light flare effects.
It's just a higher polygon version of current gen.

Dead Rising 4 was impressive for the fact that it had lots of zombies on screen at once and that each zombie was different. Some nice extra particle effects as well. Seems like they worked on making the game more action packed with somewhat improved graphics. Textures and other aspects, like draw and framerate were decent.

Ryse looked good and I'll be honest in that I didn't scrutinize what I saw of this game too closely. Textures and lighting seemed good, noticed a few effects that were very nice, like the camera angle close-ups of kills and such. Wasn't sure if it was a graphical jump or more of the art style/presentaion that made the game stand out.

I plan to go back and spend some more time at the event. Maybe the games will grow on me the second time around.

Look forward to your next views. Like @Vapor said I much prefer reading fan experiences as opposed to reviewers so keep up the good work I appreciate it :D

Went and spent some time with the Xbox One tonight at Best Buy and I'm going to give my honest impressions.

The demo station was set up inside the main door and attended by two teenage Microsoft employees. I have to admit I was a little disappointed they weren't making a bigger deal of it. No large display and no swag of any sort. I thought they'd probley have a green neon display set up with the sound cranked to get everyones attention but this wasent to be the case. Partial reasons for this Ill touch up in a moment. Even more disappointing was the complete absence of any swag. No small posters, no downloadable code cards or Xbox One lanyards. Nothing. The display itself was small and humble with two Xbox One units hooked up to 40 inch LG LED screens back to back.

The size of the console isn't overly large but it does sit somewhat deep and likely eliminates the possibility of placing it on a wall mounted shelf. The system is sleek looking with barely the faint buzz of the fan to be heard only when I had my ear right above the top mounted vent slots. Holding my hand over it I felt the slightest wisp of air movement and a warmth which I would have to say is lessor than than that of what you would typically find if inspecting any of the current gen systems in the same manner.
The young Asian whom told me he was employed by Microsoft asked me in poor and barely understandable English if I had heard of Xbox One to which I told him yes I had preordered one. He proceeded to tell me immediately how the system does not need to be connected to the internet and how I can trade games with my friends whenever I like. Having heard this as the first thing out of his mouth I realized just how hard Microsoft had drilled the point of making these facts well known to the public into its representatives. He then told me that one of the two units were not working and that unfortunately he wasn't able to demo the Kinect camera of the running unit as that two was malfunctioning. I suggested maybe swapping out the Kinect from the other unit but he told me the Kinect was fine and that the problem was infact within the console itself. I asked why there was no volume on and he sheepishishly told me the sound (for whatever reason) was not working ethier.

For those keeping score we have one of two demo units not functioning at all and the other unable to communicate with Kinect or output any sound.
Microsoft was not filling me with confidence in their hardware at this point to say the least.

Fortunately there was only a handful of people trying the unit and I was able to clearly observe two teens trying out the Killer Instinct demo. There was I think four selectable characters so how old or incomplete this demo might have been, I have no idea.
I observed the full looking background graphics of Jagos stage and some nice spark effects as well as the movement of Sabrewulfs fur and while they looked nice, I honestly don't think there was anything in the game bar maybe the blinding speed and high framerate, that couldn't be achieved by pushing current generation systems. A short time later they left and it was my turn at playing with me choosing the only other playable demo avalible... Forza 5. I stepped up to hold the Xbox One controller for the first time carefully examining it as Forza booted up. I noticed immediately how light it was... too light in fact. While pleasing to the touch I couldn't help but feel that Microsoft had used thinner, cheaper plastics this time around. And while the controller was comfortable there was a slight effort to be made in going from triggers to bumpers which I had never noticed when using my Xbox controllers. (This was confirmed to be none existant on 360 controllers when I immediately went to pick one up and compare upon returning home) After choosing my car, the game played walk around cutscenes seeming forever as the game loaded while the MS representative took the controller from me and hammered on buttons randomly in an effort to skip them to no availe.
When the racing started I was really impressed with the feel of the new rumble triggers. The way the gas vibrates to the spinning of the tires was cool but the feel of the brakes not only being applied but shuddering over bumps on the track was absolutely brilliant.
The graphics on the other hand were far less impressive though I could only race on the somewhat barren Bathurst track. While what I equated as real time shadowing and reflections were impressive, the rest was not and I found roadside textures to be flat and lifeless for many objects. Again, how far along this build was I really don't know.

Overall I couldn't help but walk away feeling let down but my first test. Graphically I didn't see anything that I don't feel couldn't be done on current gen bar some reflections and have serious concerns about the build quality of not only the controller, but the hardware within the console.
Over the next few weeks I'm going to be carefully scrutinizing game footage and reading every shred of information I can to decide if I'm going to infact show up to pick up my preordered Xbox One.
