Yea but at that point how virtual is it? Just because you have screens strapped to your head that may be 3D doesn't really make it VR IMO.
IMO you have to be engaged and exert yourself for it to be VR, to walk you should be on that treadmill, to shoot, you should have a have gun peripheral in your hands where you have to legitimate sight up your targets, if not, you're just playing a video game where the screens are strapped to your face.
You sound like you've never tried out the Rift. I have, and can unequivocally state that Rift is an unbelievable experience. It's legitimate VR.
