What movies have you seen recently?

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. 8/10. I liked this fresh, stylish take on an old tale.

I'm surprised the bad/mixed reviews it got from critics. It looked decent in the trailers.

Netflix has been advertising this War Machine pretty heavy.

I'm 20 minutes in and my god this is hard to watch. I mean Ben Kingsley is in this too, I had no idea!

It seems really bad 20 minutes in, like it's all over the place, classic awful Pitt performance I mean even worse than Inglorious Basterds which I like despite him.

Man they must have spent so much on this and it is absolute s***e 20 minutes in the camera work, the script, the acting, soundtrack etc this is a bad movie. The only interesting things in the first 20 minutes I've watched is how f***ing old Anthony Michael Hall (is that really him?) and the guy from Ferris Bueller are (wow how did they get that old that fast!?!?!)

Alien: Covenant - 2/10

I thought it was aweful. The answers they gave made no sense. The acting was average. The second half was like a terrible remake of Alien. It makes Prometheus kinda pointless...and doesn't even answer the questions Prometeus asked.

Overall it felt like a cop out. For me, this movie goes in the s*** bin with Alien 3 & Ressurection.

Going to see it today. You and one other person on the two forums I frequent said it sucked. The rest say it's decent to good. Will see for myself.

You should tell those people to watch a proper Alien movie(Alien, Aliens) cause even if you forget about the answers given it is just a bad Alien movie. It has no atmosphere. It has no suspense.

Alien Covenant - 7/10 I was entertained and enjoyed watching it. Was better than Prometheus, it felt more like the original in a couple areas. Looking forward to the next one and what this mf'er in the story is going to do next. It was disappointing not learning more about the engineers though. Definitely not a trash movie menace-uk- to each his own I guess.

My main disappointment is it felt like Dr. Shaw's character was just discarded and she frankly seems really stupid now for rebuilding David.

Another nitpick is the trained colony crew seemed really incompetent when it came to things like quarantine. At least Vickers in Prometheus didn't f*** around and just torched Dr. Holloway.

I don't really mind the elusive backstory of the Engineers. That all has been clearly studied by David alone and he's not telling what he's learned yet, or that may unfold with whatever he does in the next film.

Otherwise, the movie may feel incomplete because that is often the case with the second movie in a Trilogy being the setup for the 3rd film. This worked on gradually building up David like the Agent Smith of ALIENS.

Lol.

I know right. That qurantine bit is so fricken stupid.

Watched "The Great Wall" last night. Not as terrible as I thought it was going to be, but still ridiculous with bad CGI in certain spots.

It's sitting at a 71% critics and 61% user rating. Looks like a lot of people disagree with you.

You should go read some of those user reviews, cause a lot are echoing what I said.

I don't care if people enjoy it. People enjoy Paranormal Activity too. Doesn't mean they are good movies for the Horror genre or Alien movies.

It is a decent movie. It looks like people had their expectations too high. If you go in expecting the original Alien in quality of course you will be disappointed.

Trainspotting 2: VERY close to being a perfect 10/10. It's got poetry, nostalgia, laughs, and a very small, but nearly perfect cast. Each character is my favorite, with the exception of Veronica. The film managed to make me connect with these characters deeply. If you loved the first film, as I did, you will love the sequel just as much.

Too high? The person Directing was responsible for the masterpiece called Alien. Expecting something that recaptures what made that movie so great is not unreasonable

Covenant is nothing but a typical modern horror. It lacks all good stuff like interesting or good characters. It lacks atmosphere. It lacks suspense. Each scene has eye roll worthy stupidity from the characters. It destroys the 2 interesting things from prometheus.

People can enjoy it all they want. They can call it a good movie...but to call it a good Alien movie is downright bonkers and absolutely hilarious.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: 8/10

Started off too goofy and slow, but it picked up tremendously. I prefer movies that do this over ones that start well but end poorly.

This might explain why I liked Prometheus so much. I had no idea it was an Alien related movie until it got the the end. LOL

I'm looking forward to seeing this when it comes out on BluRay. Does it completely do away with the Prometheus feel though?

I liked Prometheus too. I went in with a open mind and did not let the hype or wanting it to be something it was not kill my enjoyment.

I would say the new movie feels more like the original Alien movie in a couple areas than Prometheus.

I just saw Wonder Woman. I leave the theatre with two...rather three thoughts...

1) It was one of the "better" Marvel movies.

2) If you have Gal Godot in your movie, it's 10% more watchable.

3) I have no idea why anyone over the age of 18 watches these Marvel movies. It feels like all 248 of them are produced by the same team of 5 people. They're movies for children.
