THOR: Ragnarok

Some humor was like Are You f***ing Kidding Me stuff. Most was okay though and I liked how Ruffalo was trying to handle Banner in such a weird circumstance; kind of a straight man character in the middle of complete sci-fi / fantasy absurdity.

I'm curious if Banner / Hulk has any character direction of their own or of the writers just look for how to shuffle him around until Infinity War. Banners concern about being suppressed long term made me think of the comics' Grey Hulk. Strangely, he does now have the haircut the Grey Hulk usually had.

One major contribution of this movie to the MCU is really delivering on higher powered fighting. Audiences were treated to major battles with CIVIL WAR, now we see THOR as a real powerhouse fighter and I really like seeing the mix of combat and lightning.

Also while these movies keep assembling generic armies to smash, it was at least mixed up a bit with Fenris.

Otherwise, Skurge seemed weirdly pointless.

Saw Thor Ragnarok yesterday.

Really enjoyed it. Had no issue with the humor.

Hela was strong, imposing, and sexy as f***. That hip sway.

Thor: Ragnarok - Ok. Didn't enjoy a lot of the 10 years old humour, but Thor realizing his potential, Hela arguably being the best Marvel villain to date, and the Hulk make it better than the prevous two movies.

Spider-Man Homecoming - 8/10 I thought it was a fun movie I enjoyed it. Keaton is my favorite MCU villain so far, he was good in this. Spider-Man 2 is still my favorite.

The Discovery - 8/10 A Netflix original about what if we discovered the existence of the afterlife. This takes place a couple years after the discovery. Interesting concept with a good cast, I liked it.

Thor Ragnarok - Average

It was ok. Felt a bit bored, going against the grain, I thought the humor saved what would have been a terribly boring movie. I will say that a better title would have been Thordead Ragnopool. They tried hard to capture Deadpool humor in a PG-13 way.

Suburbicon - Below Average

I've loved everything Clooney has directed and nearly everything the Coen brothers have written, this was not the case with Suburbicon. It felt way too forced. The last dinner scene is outstanding though.

That is disappointing. With those involved I was looking forward to this. I was also disappointed in Monuments Men.

Never even heard of it.

I watched Pearl Harbor last night haven’t seen it in years. The middle of the movie/bombing is so damn good. Too bad the rest of the movie was not as good.

Watched the second of the new ninja turtles movie...it was silly and fun, just something to enjoy and pig out on vegan food like meatlovers pizza and buttery popcorn with a dash of salty.

Just don’t go into this expecting Shakespearean writing or Oscar winning acting.

Rented some movies over the weekend.

Baby Driver - 9/10 I loved it. Cool action, great music, good cast, and a lot of fun with some very tense moments too. One of my favorites I’ve seen this year.

King Arthur: Legend Of the Sword - 7/10 I thought it was better than the reviews made it out to be. Was entertaining. I liked some of the musical score and imagery.

King Arthur was surprisingly good. The biggest issue for me was the modern language they used, it just sounds wrong.

The Room - Great

First time seeing it. It's truly a bad movie that is so bad it's great. A complete incoherent disaster from the very start. Everyone should see it. I suggest alcohol should be involved.
