What movies have you seen recently?

I do agree, but I still liked Wonder Woman...mostly...and Black Panther looks awesome.

I think the issue is the majority of these movied are based on the popular characters most know very well. Movies based on the lesse known like Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther are more interesting.
I haven't seen WW yet, although just finally saw Batman v Superman a couple months ago so I'm behind on DC stuff as well. As for the second comment that may be something else as well. I didn't know anything about Ant Man going in and enjoyed that movie. Same with Guardians. I think Dr Strange is the next in the release order for me to watch and I'm really looking forward to that one.

Yeah Ant Man was surprising. I thought it would be terrible but really enjoyed it. ..and now the sequal gives us Evangeline Lilly in a tight leather outfit, So no complaints here:hehe:

I think the rumoured Black Widow spin off could be good....but then again Black Widow isn't a Superhero.

I guess another take on Hellboy is coming so we'll so how that goes.

Been on a DC animated movie binge:

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight - Probably the most out there take you could get on Batman. It manages to hold the attention and make a interesting film out of a interesting one shot comic. The fight choreography is much different and a bit more basic, but it holds up well. You never get the feeling that Batman is OP. My biggest complaints is that they leave you wanting more of the world and don't really give it to you. I feel like they could have expanded a bit considering all the changes from the source material, but it's fairly to the point. Will probably be a one shot film when it's all said and done too.

Killing Joke - Wasn't sure how to feel about it,first off, the animation wasn't as much a let down as I was expecting it to be when I first saw it. It's more pleasing that I thought. Also, the first half of the movie is basically all about Batgirl. It's smart in that it leads into the main storyline, but it gives the impression that this story is more about Batgirl and her transition into the Oracle, and then turns into Batman/Joke. It's all good, but there's a disconnect.

Justice League Dark - Decent. Yet another DC film that gives me Swamp Thing, but tries to omit him as much as possible though. Personally, I'm ready for a Swamp Thing standalone film. The representations of each character were well done I thought, for the most part anyway. Good action, animation, and to be frank, I kind of enjoyed it a bit more than Dr. Strange. Hell, this was a better Justice League movie than Justice League in many respects. This film does a great balance of humor and drama in my opinion.

The Cloverfield Paradox:

Really weird but it was interesting. I'm not sure how this is supposed to explain the emergence of the Cloverfield creature though.

As a marketing move I also find it interesting and kind of amusing to launch a major feature this way.

Cloverfield Paradox as well. Enjoyed it as well but I feel like we are still int he dark on a lot of things so hopefully the 4th movie is real and coming later this year as well. I will add this in a spoiler regarding previous movies:

If you remove what little they have about the initial attack on NYC and the monster at the end, this movie could be mistaken for something entirely different. Now I didn't follow the ARG a lot for the first two movies, but my understanding is that the slushie company from Japan is a cover up for uncovering the monster buried in the ocean. This movie makes it seem like the particle accelerator is the cause of the monsters appearing, but not sure how that plays into the slushie company. First movie really didn't have mention of an energy crisis from what I remember, so not sure how that plays into it. Also when it comes to Lane I don't remember 100%, but it seems like no one knows what is happening there. So I'm wondering if Lane might actually take place on Earth 2 instead where war is already happening with possible aliens/monsters later.

Yeah the possibilities make it quite open-ended in terms of the timeline/setting of the first two Cloverfield films. I enjoyed Paradox - it was more interesting and more fun than Life, which was quite similar (stuck on a space station).

The 15:17 to Paris - GOOD

The acting and dialogue are weak, but the story (and the way the story is told) is remarkable. Having each of the three heroes play themselves adds an extra dimension to each of their scenes; as an audience member, I couldn't help but wonder how they felt reliving the pivotal moments in their lives. And now I wonder - where do they go from here? What are they going to do with their lives now?

It also reminded me of my travels through Europe. And of course, I wonder, do I have that kind of courage in me?

Downsizing: Okay

Interesting concept but a bit hollow. Seemed like they could've been a lot more creative with set design but they wanted to avoid being too on the nose so they ended up being too mundane.

Watched King Arthur and the Legend of the Sword last night, it was a different take on the whole thing but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Watched Spider-Man homecoming the other night and loved it, best Spider-Man movie by far IMO.

Watched Dr. Strange tonight and loved it as well, awesome movie!

Mune Guardian of the Moon... really good. A lil long winded (slow) with its world building but still interesting. Art direction reminds me a lot of Ori and the Blind Forest. 8/11

Watched Pele with the kids. Average. Tries real hard to pull on the heart strings at every corner. Villains turn into allies after about 10 minutes. Vincent D'Onforino as the head coach saves the movie. Wish there was more soccer action and less drama. Did like the nod to Brazillian Ginga.

Just watched Justice League and it's nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be, it's a flawed but entertaining movie that is worth seeing. That being said whoever did the facial animation for Steppenwolf needs to never get a job doing effects work again lol. Some of the green/blue screen stuff didn't blend well either but some effects did look better watching in 4K HDR than they did watching on youtube. This movie also makes me really look forward to seeing Aquaman.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 - Terrible? I had to shut it off after the worst shootout scene in the history of cinema. Vince Vaughn what have you done?

Wife and I are going to 50 Shades tonight. :hehe::hehe::banana:

I'd be surprised if that is even close to being as good as The Secretary. James Spader owns that ass.

So I read this, and wondered why anyone would want a monsters dildo? There are some real freaks out there...

Anyway... Just finished watching The Shape of Water... Do you think an artisan dildo maker could be bribed to fast track my order, or do you think they'd be above that?

I really loved the movie. Combined twee, whimsy, and grotesque in a way that seems to be Del Toro's hallmark.

I don't want to watch it again soon, but I'm glad I did. Also, the dress in the dance scene is amazing.

Did you ever read the books? I remember reading them on the tram one time when they first came out, and I had to stay on the tram for an extra 3 stops due to wearing tight shorts...

Just saw Black Panther, 8/10... fight scenes were awesome, loved that long/nonbreak one cam shot. Lots of world building and plenty of show over tell bits. Felt two parts Captain America: first avenger and one part original iron man.

Can wait for infinity war ^^,
