Which 4K HDR TV are you planning to buy for Scorpio or One s?

I keep reading about potential burn-in with OLED. Is it a real issue..?

It's definitely a possibility but it seems that it's not super common either, it's just hard to spend that money and not know for sure. I'm tempted to get one when I upgrade the TV I have now in a year or two because I think overall the colors look better on them and the blacks and viewing angles are better but the best LED's look great too and while they may not have the level of uniformity, black levels or handle motion quite as well it's still nice knowing that burn-in is virtually impossible.

Nope had mine for over a year with no burn in. Don’t listen to the FUD from LCD fangirls. If you leave the The TV on for a few weeks with a static logo I’m sure you would have burn in, but not from normal use.

does anybody know if the oled has a burn in eracer in the settings.. My panasonic vt50 plasma has one and it literally eraces any burn in that happens

It has a clear panel noise option, you can do that manually but I read that it does it automatically evey time you turn off the TV if the TV was on for more than 4 hours.
I have never had to run it manually.
OLED is definitely the tv you want coming from a plasma, I also had a Panasonic VT50.

My friend has a second generation lg OLED ..his has burn in and the TV lost its brightness .all he does game on it he now has a sony 900e.i wanna get a 4k LCD TV I'm shopping now for one

OLEDs are great but they are not perfect. No tv is. It’s entirely situational. Take Sea of Thieves I bet that game looks better on a high end lcd.

How long do you run the eraser? I have mild burn in on my ZT60 and the eraser doesn’t fix it. :(

Well, you Yanks got a good deal! I keep reading TCL are solid tvs at budget pricing. We don't even have them here in Canada. I've been scouring sites, and don't see anyone carrying it..... unless I order it from an Amazon marketplace seller.

The best brand here with good results and low pricing is Vizio, which Costco Canada has some nicely featured 65" tvs for $1,200-1,800. Their premium models are $2,000+

if you like crushed blacks then OLED is for you.
If you want to baby sit the screen ie don't pause ANY still images and go due something like use the bathroom or you are at risk of burn in.

Organic material that ages.(According to Samsung)

HDR that only reaches at most 1000 nits.(most oled sets are well under this)

If those things are good with you? Oled is the TV to get.

A(non burn in gamer friendly) High Peak Brightness ie 1400 nits or Higher Full Array LED TV is the best type of TV out and what I go with but keep in mind the viewing angle's aren't as good.
I had a choice to get any set out in the 75/77 inch size range and went with the Sony Z9D.
Its expensive but met and exceeded my needs.
Compare for yourself if you have a best buy that still has a Z9D next to or near a OLED.

Anyway decent Full Array tech can be had at a much cheaper than I paid price just keep in mind the higher the zones and the higher the peak brightness the better.

Oh and my blacks don't crush and are so dark it looks like my screen is off.

Oled is young as time goes by more and more people will notice issues with its tech.

Updated photo, after new stand wire cleanup and speaker upgrades.

Do you have a visions near you? I went in there and got a 55” Samsung Q7 for $1600 cad, I had to get their 5 year warranty so all in it was $2050, the thing about CostCo is everyone tells me they have amazing warranty and will take anything back. I tried haggling with Best Buy and Leon’s they did not want to make a deal. So good luck! Plus Black Friday is right around the corner, never hurts to wait for that!

Hes coming from plasma a oled or decent full array set would be a better choice.

I guess what I was trying to say was maybe he can get a good deal on whatever tv he wants if he has a visions nearby as they are more than willing to make deals on their tv’s. I would have went OLED as well but they wouldn’t give me as good pricing on anything but a floor model

Yeah, there's a Visions 20 min from me. I never even heard of this place before. Had to Google it, and never knew there were about 20 in Canada.

Initially I thought it was Vistek..... they sell tvs???

For me, all electronics are Costco only. Although the price is comparable to an electronic store, the warranty is impossible to beat, and the extra warranty coverage and price are the best at Costco too. And if the tv bombs, they have concierge pick up, repair, and return delivery back home.

I had an issue 5 years ago and the concierge service handled it.

I let burn in eraser run for 20mins. I'm still on the fench with getting a oled b7 for my bedroom. My Samsung js8500 is looking great with the x1x sofar, which I didn't think it would cause all the clouding it gives off. Decisions,decisions..
