DCEU's US opening weekends so far:

Man of Steel: $116,619,362
Batman v Superman: $166,007,347
Suicide Squad: $133,682,248
Wonder Woman: $100,505,000

4 consecutive opening weekends of over $100 million. The only other franchise that also achieved this record is The Hunger Games.

now all those had a HUGE dropoff in terms of 2nd week so we'll see if the quality shows and its not a drastic drop

i didnt get chance to watch it this weekend, so will have to wait till next week

Most superhero films are front loaded, but I hope she'll have nice legs :hehe: due to overwhelmingly positive reviews and good word of mouth. We shall see. Suicide Squad had great legs due to being the last blockbuster of the summer and having little competitions from other movies. WW won't have that advantage this summer.

WB didnt want the No Mans Land scene in the film at first.... Yep arguably the best scene in the film almost didnt make it.

It was an amazing movie. Great acting from everyone especially Gadot and Pine. Oscar-worthy costume design and original scores. Everything was perfect EXCEPT...

the casting of David Thewlis as Ares. He was great as Sir Patrick but as Ares he's too old and lacks the Greek god physique of the God of War. They should have cast Scott Adkins or Jason Stratham as Ares for that revelation towards the end of the movie. Scott Adkins would be my first choice.

Only thing I've really seen people complain about is they say the 3rd act is not very good.

I can't wait to see this myself.

Proof that studio exectives should not interfere with the director's vision. They did that with BvS and Suicide Squad.

I'd give it an 8/10.

Superb action sequences with some great moments that make you understand she has Superman level abilities, as she herself learns that she has that kind of power. That said, it definitely had its chick flick moments. The extended scene discussing Steve Trevor's unit, dress shopping, the dancing, the kiss, and the lesson of the power of love are all pointed right at the female audience members. Kinda like how Captain America The First Avenger had pretty much those same moments.

I've got to say that I truly loved her fighting scenes (with the exception of the final battle). Makes me want to fire up Injustice 2 now actually!

Saw this last night. Overall was a pretty good movie. I agree that the final battle was a bit much. It kind of felt out of sync with the earlier scenes or something. Maybe the 3rd act was just a bit too long, overall. Feels...a bit....like...DCEU-itis. Somehow, it's still a good movie.

Anyway, I think this movie was made for both male and female audiences, but with a keen eye for women, made by women. (At least director and actresses) I think that the writing was actually pretty good, even if corny sometimes. Making this movie even work had to honestly be quite a fine line to walk.

Chris Pine may not new the greatest actor, but he's got a lot of charisma and women love him. Very smart casting, imo. Ok, there was one scene though, where he said something that wasn't supposed to be funny and it sounded almost EXACTLY like William Shatner. I started cracking up, and then I noticed I shouldn't be laughing at that scene. It was funny to me because I don't really think I've heard him sound that much like Shatner in Star Trek. Anyway, he's actually mostly pretty good here, as well as being pretty likable. All the while, he's just a co-star for the real star off the show. Yeah, she is really something! Wow! Beauty, Brains, and Bad-assery. It's something that hasn't quite been been captured that way before. Gal pulls it off quite well.

I probably agree with Ace's 8/10. I wouldn't mind watching it over again, either. Maybe the ending would grow on me.

Her fighting scenes were like watching Captain America mixed with Achilles from Troy, but with a beautiful woman.

Really enjoyed it. Gadot and Pine had really good chemistry. The end was a bit too much CG, that's my only complaint.

I haven't seen Batman, Superman, or Batman VS Superman. I don't need to to get the gist of this one, do I?

No, this one takes place prior to those and is a 99% self contained story.

Huzzah! I have BvS on Blu-ray, but I have zero interest in actually watching it for some reason.

I'm looking forward to wonder Woman though. I was in love with Lynda Carter when I was a wee lad.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did they not really explain Wonder Womans powers at all?

Like, she's a God that needs bracelets to deflect bullets? Sometimes she can stop things with her mind? Othertimes no? She can jump far and pick up heavy objects?

Seems like most movies they explicitly tell you what our hero can and can not do.

BTW, was anyone else livid that the Germans only shot at her shield in the No Mans Land scene? Go for the legs, and lower torso you bafoons! Clearly shooting the shield for 7 straight minutes isn't working.

Still recommend you to watch Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition if you're invested in Wonder Woman because she did appear a lot in BvS and her fight scene in that movie is awesome, and she'll appear again in future DCEU movies. Even though most of this Wonder Woman movie is a story of its own but there is still a little connection between it and BvS.

Warner Bros. will soon begin negotiations with Patty Jenkins over Wonder Woman sequel
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...ector-patty-jenkins-not-signed-sequel-1010845

"Sources say the studio intends to begin negotiations with Jenkins shortly (although the exact timing is unclear), and the filmmaker and her reps at CAA, Anonymous Content and Jackoway Tyerman will enjoy enormous leverage. Jenkins could not only return to the director's chair on Wonder Woman 2 but also could ink a more expansive deal that would allow her to work with DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns on a script treatment for that movie and possibly others as well."

Wonder Woman 2 Plot Is Set in America

http://movieweb.com/wonder-woman-2-plot-american-setting/

"The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She's Wonder Woman. She's got to come to America. It's time."

She is geographically a Mediterranean woman  but it makes sense for the sequel to be set in modern-day US since most of DC's fictional cities are located in the US. Time for her to face her number one nemesis - Cheetah - or something.

Gal is 5 months pregnant in several scenes but they cut a whole in the front of her suit and put green screen cloth over the bump to slim her down.

Also explains that justice league pic where she looked like a different person

There was an interview on YouTube in which she revealed that all the "pregnant" reshoot scenes were in the third act of the movie. I've see the movie 4 times already and I honestly could not see any difference on her body. Couldn't spot out Zack Snyder's cameo either. But if anyone is curious, here he is:

Saw it last week and really enjoyed it. Gotta say, what made me happiest is that they didn't turn the concept of Greek deities to mean aliens from other space. Some of the jokes ran a bit long, I mean, I don't mind a dick joke here and there, but that bit so early in the movie ran a bit long. Probably upset more prudish folks as well. In any case, they added a solid balance of humor and drama. Love seeing her fight the Germans, and to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised with the Ares fight. I didn't think a more super powered fight like that was going to happen in a movie like this. Thought the action and cinematography was absolutely on point. Good acting too. Pretty easy to see why the movie has done so well.
