Honestly the BC stuff is really cool.
With that being said, if I were a Sony fanboy I'd be like good thing you have old games to play cause you sure as hell don't have anything new.
To be fair, my PS4 has been sitting mostly collecting dust since Horizon Zero Dawn. I'll have to dust it off for God of War for sure though, Sony Santa Monica looks to have done a good job as you would expect (best Sony studio by far).
If I had a PS4 it would probably collect dust too because my days of SP gaming are basically over. Competitive MP or co-op with the boys is pretty much all I'm interested in finding time for these days. Might fire up Ninja Gaiden Black for fun from time to time, but whenever I try to play a SP game now I just lose all interest 3 or so hours in. The last 2 games I played but couldn't finish:

I agree, but it looks like it could be one of those games worth having the system for by itself. If it wasn't for VR I would barely touch it.
GoW 3 and Twisted Metal are what got me to buy a PS3. Just the same I bought my PS4 Pro shortly after the GoW 4 announce. History repeats.
I have to drag myself off of the MP games, they suck up so much of my time but I definitely do love well done SP games. I ususally don't finish a lot of them but still get enough of my money's worth and come back much later usually.
I just played some HZD myself. It's really a great single player game, and quite amazing looking. I just have so many games going at time...plus, I mostly fire up the PS4 for VR. I will get GoW when I finally complete HZD.
Since this is an Xbox discussion, I will say that I'll likely sell off my PSVR if Xbox gets something better for VR this year. At that point, PS4 will be only for the good Sony exclusives. Maybe I'll end up getting it again down the line, when they improve some things.
I don't think anyone can argue X1X has huge, undeniable advantages right now. Probably the largest gap in pixel counts we've seen in multiplatform comparisons, and BC is leagues better on Xbox, not even in the same universe. It's doing two things REALLY well. Whereas sony has the single player games and VR(for people like me).
It's a good ying yang between the two, and while I see Sony continuing to outsell MS for months and months to come, X1X is winning back gamers, its extremely evident in the posts on Resetera and even Neogaf. There's a shift going on, its not quite equal, but its not one sided anymore at all.

Yeah, I definitely remember that. I may go in and fudge around, but I spent all night last night just putzing around enjoying the detail as usual. The game is something else in that regard- always has been- but now it so clean!
I really want Xbox to get there, not only because I like more options, but because I want them to push each other harder. Competition is great. Sony is basically competing against Nintendo only and its not even fun to debate with MS, its like they took themselves out of the competition.
Microsoft needs some visionary types. They don't really have that right now.
They have guys and girls that are very technical but don't really know how to put art, gameplay and creativity all together.

Man I uploaded The Division and it looks really good but for the life of me I can’t even make myself play it.

That may be but it is a realistic observation.
The only way one progresses is by facing reality and becoming better.
Not true about Sony though as yes they are improving but did put out AAA RATED titles on the PS2.

On topic. I'm pretty sure Phil knows that the Xbox platform has a serious exclusive problem on its hands. If they don't keep it games and actual EXCLUSIVE focused at E3 I'm going to be incredibly disappointed and shocked.
Off topic re. Sony, yes, but his comment isn't fundamentally about Sony; it's about MS.
It's nothing new and shouldn't be controversial. It's the same thing we've heard for years now about MS's need for a more robust stable of 1P games. It's the same thing you saw around the release of Horizon. Phil's response is encouraging but also nothing new (I like his parenthetical comment).
Microsoft put out AAA rated titles on Xbox and Xbox 360. It was a comment about improving not a comment about whether they ever were able to put out a good game before PS3.
