Xbox One X

I just wanted to post that I was wrong. I think I said that the Xbox One X would drop out of the Amazon top 100 after Christmas. Surprisingly, it's at #52 right now. One of the Xbox One S consoles is at 37. Another is at 73. Those consoles were not even to be found in the top 100 early on last year. I know part of it is multiple sku's, but looks like they are doing well or they have less sku's.

Xbox One X will hopefully see a price drop this fall to keep it in the top 100 during the holidays.

Its number #54
as of now Hedon and above the other Xbox Ones...though one seems to have been discontinued.

OK, I've talked about it for awhile and decided to record my fan while in the starting HQ of Monster Hunter World.

You can skip to 1:30 and 2:30. I've had it louder sometimes. It's more annoying than anything else.

I can't say I've ever heard my Xbox One X fans over the ambient noise in my house

We did a factory reset and I want to say it seems better. I had the volume off. Once in a while I could hear the fan rev up a little, but I think if I had the volume on; I wouldn't have heard it. I kept the ticket open and I'll decide this weekend what to do. My warranty is for a whole year, so it'll be free to get it serviced.

Had my first problem with my ONE X lastnight.
Was playing Fifa 18 and the controller disconnected and started flashing while my characters on screen all keep moving downward. I powered on my other controller and it started flashing too. I tried syncing them and nothing happened.
I regained control by connecting controller to console by USB cord.
After a restart everything seems fine again. Weird.

Probably better off purchasing the DLC expansions for the Witcher 3 when a sale presents itself on PS4.

My opinion on Origins or Assassin's Creed as a whole has changed over the years. Great game, great formula, all works well, but don't understand why a narrative based game has a yearly release.

They realised they could sell 7-10 million copies of Assassins Creed in 1 year instead of 1 game every 3 years that sells 15.

Mine louder than a leaf blower when I first got it home. Full blast fan from the startup, never did it slow down. I did a hard reset, or factory reset since I didn't have anything installed, and at first it didn't seem to work.

I played Mass Effect Adromeda and instantly the fan was full blast again. Over the course of the next hour or so, the fan would come and go between full blast and quiet. Then, as if someone pulled a cork out of the cooling line, the system went to stone silent operation and has been that way since. Literally from full blast during one of the spells to whisper quiet (and yes, still working) cooling.

It really acted like a hvac system in the commercial industry that was settling into normal operating mode through its controls.

Since the first day after it went quiet, never have had a single instance where I hear the fan go anywhere above wondering if it is working.

Yeah, was reading some stuff and I think I'm in the norm. Right now, I'm purposely listening for it; so it's a bit of me being anal about it.

I do think after the Factory reset it only got a little loud to cool as if part of the cycle. Before it was revving every few seconds. Going to play a bunch of Monster Hunter to test it this week/weekend. Work stuff!

Knowing that I have the luxury of getting it repaired at no cost is nice, plus I still have my original XBox One.

loosing controller sync has happened few times with me. Not during game just on start up. Hard reset as always fixed it.

Mine did another strange thing to me the other night, was giving Halo 5 a shot before cancelling my game pass membership and when I quit the game to go back to the dashboard it froze, the console made a clicking sound a few times and then powered it's self off. I restarted it and got the whole boot up animation and it seems to be ok now. This is like the 3rd or 4th time the thing has shut down on me but the first time it made that noise.

EDITED OUT PERSONAL ATTACKS

Do you have it plugged directly into a wall outlet?

Controller disconnects are usually a sign of signal interference.

Connect your Xbox One power supply
Connecting your Xbox One power supply unit (PSU) correctly ensures that your console will perform as it was designed. Here’s how to connect the PSU:

  1. Plug the DC cord into the PSU port on the back of your console.

  1. Plug the AC cord into the PSU.

  1. Plug the other end of the AC cord into a wall outlet.
Note We recommend plugging directly into a wall outlet--a power strip or surge protector is not necessary, as your console's power supply has internal protection built in.

  1. Verify that the LED power indicator on the PSU is brightly lit.

Same for One X.

Plus it's one of the troubleshooting tips when having fan issues. When playing an intensive game, the console needs to draw power. If plugged into another surge protector; you may not draw enough. Hence the fan may get louder.

I would never be so foolish to follow that.

Some didn't have a choice. Some saw that the console wouldn't power on because of a double surge protector in place.

Just saying. Do what you want, but wanted to share what's already out there. Tons of articles and people's feedback.

Plus, where that is what Sony and MS are specifically instructing people to do, if you had a power surge and it killed your box, they'd have to replace it. You may have to speak to a supervisor when you call in, but you could do it.

Don't have anything plugged directly into the wall. Too many electrical devices more than anything.

Also read somewhere that it's caused by batteries, especially rechargeables, that are on their way out. They don't hold the proper voltage voltage anymore.

This guy does not deserve an Xbox.
Lol, what does that even mean? If he's having issues, this seems like a logical place to talk about them.

For what it's worth, JinCA, I'm sorry you are having issues, man. I haven't had any myself, but I know it's frustrating having a product that isn't functioning properly. I have always found MS to be quite accommodating in the past.

Thankfully my X hasn't given me any issues.

Big difference between a good surge protector and just typical stuff like extension cords, cheap power strips, power squids, the cheapest surge protectors your can find with enough inputs or any of those easy to buy things that are of varying quality.

A high quality surge protector will usually have some power conditioning, probably UPS and a massive $$$ guarantee on anything connected to it. Your average person doesn't buy those though.

I have all my stuff in a surge protector including my PS Pro and X1X. No issues. Never had issues with surge protectors ever actually.
