Your Biggest Disappointment From E3

Call me crazy, but no words about Skate disappointed me. I thought Skate 3 BC is getting delayed just to announce Skate 4. It wasn't. Now I have no idea what is going on.

Other than that, Crackdown 3 delay, few ME Andromeda news, a little bit about no words on Capybara's next game Below, no game plan about how Windows Store and Xbox Store will get integrated in Anniversary Update, etc. This E3 didn't exactly have what I really wanted to hear.

A new Skate game would have been awesome.

Usually but GTA 4 was announced there as was Agent. Take Two said they would be at E3 in a big way and I don't know that they showed off anything other than Mafia.

GTA wasn't but ms announced the same time as ps3 release and dlc deal. Moore even said it was hard work getting them to allow ms to show a trailer for the game at their show.

The entire show was pretty disappointing for me. Most of the exclusive PS4 games are a long way from being released. The Vita wasn't even mentioned (I don't think). Nintendo...all I saw was Zelda. The Microsoft event reminded me of past Nintendo conferences....silly colored controllers and an unnecessary console revision coming out soon just before their new hardware gets released. Then they just yap about how great the Scorpio will be without any sort of videos shown or tech demos of what will be possible with the console. The entire speech just reminded me of their "cloud" nonsense they spewed about the X1.

Not to mention the focus on this overpriced VR stuff. I'm slowly losing interest in gaming, and the entire event really didn't give me a bit of hope that it will get any better or more interesting at all.

The Vita and handheld Sony gaming is dead. That is what happens when you don;t support your platform.

I am still unsure why they bothered with the slim. Surely all those people capable of taking advantage of 4K are more likely to wait for Scorpio where you get all the slim advantages and the potential of native 4K gaming.

I agree on VR. While it sounds interesting and capable of unique and interesting experiences there doesn't seem to be all that much compelling software for it. My biggest issue with VR though is all the motion control going on with it. Motion control sucks ass.

Microsoft.

This is the year I wish I bought a PS4.

You'd think next year and the year after would be the year you wish you'd bought a PS4, what with pretty much everything Microsoft showed coming out in the next 12 months and most of everything Sony showed coming out after that. :smash:

(Not that I disagree with the idea that Sony's doing a much better job of showing games that are coming to their system in the future - they're killing it on that front. But this is the actual year where having the XBox would be good, since you're getting a slew of games coming out for it.)

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad I'm an XBone owner. But Sony's lineup is more impressive.

Microsoft now showing anything really new game wise.

God of Tombwar.

Only one VR game showcased and it may not even be a full game but a demo and just a collage of upcoming VR games.

Zelda's completely boring demo. Probably the worst I ever saw. Luckily the trailer alleviated concerns I had about it.

I think people are assuming just because it says in development it means a long way off. Many of those have a chance at coming next year but Sony is trying to avoid delays. All games should say in development until the product is finished.

I finally thought of something that disappointed me: Everything went smoothly.
  • No awkward Kinect or Move demos.
  • No cringe-worthy CEO moments.
  • No dance game demos.
  • No stage demo malfunctions.
  • No spastic guy on the Wii mote.

Ah well. Maybe next year.

You must have missed Ubisoft's conference. They did not disappoint. They even announced NX support... For Just Dance, after the "awesome" dance routine...

I did miss Ubisoft.

Those dance demos are always so awkward.

I "missed" Ubisoft's conference too.

The Ubi conference was good though. Silly dance sequence at the start but other than that it was fine. Aisha Tyler is a good host.

E3's are definitely getting better with time, more professional. Take a look at this video of "most embarrassing moments," and see what you think. My reaction was that none of these were really the laugh out loud "oh my god, how could they think this was a good idea?" sorts of moments we had in the past. They seemed more like things that just didn't showcase the game very well, came off stiff somehow, etc.

Borderlands 3. I thought I read somewhere a few months back that Gearbox was going to reveal the next borderlands game at E3 2016. WTH!

I love that that annoying lady from the Bethesda conference got mentioned, lol! So it wasn't only me!

I didn't mind the banter for Sea of Thieves (kinda lame but more natural), but it was awful during Wildlands (horribly scripted). That Peter Moore bit but with that soccer dude ( ;) ) was almost hostile, lol, and really uncomfortable. I wish they would just stop with celebrity appearances, as the are alwaus crappy.

Something being bad or lame is not the same as embarrassing. Embarrassing is like that Nintendo Wii E3.

The Sea of Thieves voice over/banter was actually fine cause you can easily imagine a lot of gamers being that way.
The Wildlands teamwork speak was just bad. Typically for an Ubisoft co-op game though.
Mourinho coming on was simply lame.

With SoT I was sat thinking no one will play it like that or talk like that online.

The minecraft stuff was cringe worthy.

all the xbox leaks made the show feel worse than it did.

and yeh no red dead 2

I honestly think that overall this was one of the best E3's in a long time. Ubisoft and Sony both showed a lot of things I'm really excited for as well as the skyrim re-master from Bethesda and BF1 from EA.

As far as things I'm disappointed about I'd agree with the others about RDR not being there, I was kind of hoping it would be but I should have known better lol. BTW Adam Boyes from Sony said that RDR was never supposed to be a part of their show and that the rumor is false. I guess at this point it doesn't matter but it's about time they give us something.

My biggest disappointment was that the fake insider news about Ori 2 being at Microsofts conference was pulled straight out of someone's ass.

Flynn getting himself banned is the biggest disappointment, the silly arse.

Yeah, sorry about passing that little tidbit along. At the time, I noted that I didn't have confirmation. Couldn't even locate the post, the GAF thread was moving so fast...

Would have been nice if true. Ori & The Blind Forest was awesome.

I am sure a sequel/ Ori 2 will come at some point.
