Been using the IGN app lately and i've come across some vids of THIEF. I am surprised nobody is talking about it yet as it due in about a month?! Gameplay and GFX looked pretty good.

Has anybody heard anything on a next gen mortal kombat? Would love to have a 2d remake along the lines of killer instinct for ps4

I think the last MK that came out would probably fall along those lines, I am very much looking forward to a new one though whenever it does come out.

I just watched the trailer for Doki Doki Universe on the store, it looks pretty unique. Has anyone here played it?

PS4 doesn't downoad updates while in stand by mode. Anyone else have this problem?

Here's the fix according to a Sony mod.

Hey guys,

If you are experiencing this ce-34878-0 error code, please close the application and then install the latest system software and game patch.

If the error occurs again, initialise the PS4 system after back-up of the save data and please also submit any crash reports after re-booting your console when the error occurs.

Hope that helps.

I had some issues with the first couple of BF4 updates not downloading until I signed in but the last one did it automatically.

It has not been doing it with BF and DC Universe for some reason.

This Site Will Add Dozens of Free PS4 Games to Your Library

All running through the web browser

We’ve already established that the current PlayStation 4 drought isn’t quite as bad as some message board pundits may lead you to believe, but there is an easy way to enhance your next generation software library for free. A smart group of gamers have launched Sonyfied.com, a website tailored to the console’s web browser which includes a slew of HTML5 games playable with the DualShock 4.

The site individually tests each submitted title with the supercharged system’s controller, and ensures that it’s a pleasant experience on the new device. Current favourites include Pac-Man, Cut the Rope, and Plants vs. Zombies, which we can confirm play like a dream on the meaty machine. Other noteworthy releases include 1945, Zombie Grinder, and Run Run Run. Alright, they’re not exactly blockbusters, but they do work fine.

According to the website’s creators, it will continue adding new games over time, meaning that this is something that you may want to bookmark for a rainy day. Obviously you’re never going to find anything on par with Killzone: Shadow Fall here, but it’s a novel concept that makes clever use of the console’s on-board browser. And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t get the urge for a spot of tower defence from time to time?

That's pretty cool. Any trophy support? ;)

War always changes

Back in our review of Digital Extreme's PlayStation 4 free-to-play shooter, we declared thatWarframe was a decent game, but it needed some work before we could consider it to be truly compelling. It's promising, then, that the developer seems determined to improve on its relatively solid product by adding in some heavily requested features.

Trophy fanatics like our very own Sammy Barker will be delighted to learn that the sci-fi romp now supports Sony's satisfying reward system, while those who were put off by the title's strict control settings will be overjoyed to hear that you can now alter them to ridiculous degrees in order to better fit your preferences.

As if that wasn't enough, the huge update also adds an entirely new frame to the mix: Oberon. Described as a paladin class, this snazzy-looking suit specialises in both offensive powers and healing abilities, making it a great addition to any Tenno team. Has the inclusion of shiny virtual trinkets encouraged you to give Warframe a try? Or have you been busy slashing and dashing since it launched with the PS4 back in November? Patch us up in the comments section below.

Man Warframe looks so cool but I just can't get over the repetitiveness. It's like playing Halo with only grunts as the enemies for the whole game.

And wow I can't believe kvally got a ps4. =D

I know everyone, or most everyone thinks that backwards compatibility is a waste of time. And it is at some point eventually. But how awesome would it be to be able to play all the awesome games that are out now or coming out for PS360 on our new consoles?

These companies would still be making a profit on game sales wether it be on the old hardware or new. Oh well. Just a random thought.

^

Man I think about that every single day. I never had a ps3 so I missed everything that console had to offer. If I could play ps3 games on my ps4 I'd be in heaven right now. I was actually so close to ordering a ps3 right before I got my ps4. My gf stopped me and said it was stupid to get both though. QQ

I think that's the goal of PSNow? Hopefully it works. I bet it is going to be a lagfest though.

Yeah me too, I didn't have a PS1, PS2 or PS3 (although I had a PS3 for one year and sold it) and I would have a lot of catching up to do with all the games that came out for those systems. Thing is though, once you play some of those older games they are never as good as you hoped, unless they are arcade games, IMO.

Yeah PSNow is a cool idea and I will download games from it. But it also means rebuying games. Hopefully it does work well though.

If the lag is like plugging another system through the X1's HDMI in port it should be playable but kind of annoying.

Get TR and BF4(if you own them or not)
KZSF....isn't all that

I have TR for the 360 and BF4 for the One. I, at least for now, am just doing exclusives on the PS4. Unless of course I start gaming with peeps from here that roll on PS4 for multi's only.

Yea I'm enjoying Warframe but I only play it for a little bit or every couple of days because of the repetitiveness. Maybe it gets better the more you play but every level looks the same.

My bro has like 50 hours in warframe. I have about ...I dunno 14. It's good, but yeah there is a lot of grinding in it.

I'll remove his dead ass then. What games did you get?

EDIT:

Oh, you already said what games. And don't listen to Valliance. KZ MP is "all that." Single-player is good. Better than COD and BF, anyway.

I played through all three on the hardest difficulties, and I'd rank them:

KZ
COD
BF

BF was especially disappointing. It was better than BF3, but that campaign was a disaster.

On a scale of 1-4, with 1 being the best, where would you rate KZ1, KZ2, KZ3 and KZ4?

Never played KZ, so I'm just going to ignore that one.

I thought K2 was amazing, but I 100% understand the gripes with controls. I really enjoyed how focused the campaign was, and it had the most memorable characters, and Radec was a total badass. I thought the MP was a lot of fun.

K3 was okay. The campaign was all over the place, and had terrible pacing. The MP took a step back as well, and the inclusion of mechs and jetpacks just made it a mess. I liked it fine, but didn't get into it as much as K2.

SF is an odd duck. It also suffers from pacing issues, taking a bit too long to gain real traction, and the levels are uneven as well. It has some real high-highs, and some real low-lows. It's also a solid challenge on Hard, and it requires you to use the Owl effectively. Visually, it's awesome. Definitely worth playing for the visuals alone. The MP is better than K2.

If you're not familiar with KZ, you can definitely jump in with Shadowfall. Knowing the events of the previous games would help, but it isn't necessary.

If you're into multiplayer, and don't like objective based games, I wouldn't bother. TDM is fun, but it is slower, more methodical than other shooters. It doesn't have that instant gratification COD and BF delivers. Warzone, however, is awesome. The constant push and pull between objectives, plus utilizing the all your abilities correctly--such as spawn beacons, tactical shields, turrets, cloaking, scanning and tagging enemies, etc.--is immensely satisfying.

Thanks Blue. I was a fan of Killzone 3 and Killzone 2. Never played Killzone 1. I had better luck with the controls in KZ3 (could have been just a mind thing, or the fact that I got a third party controller), so I enjoyed the game more. However, I did like KZ2's campaign more. I did MP in both, but never to an extent.

Some were saying it was more of a tech demo. I don't want to drop $50 on KZ4 if it's a short game or some demo. I want it to be the full experience, SP and MP.

Just the haters. It is a very complete game in every sense, and by no means short.

They definitely changed the controls in K3, and I think for the better. I know a lot of "purists" are against that change, but whatever.

SF is definitely the best playing of the bunch, and that's in part to the improved framerate. If you're playing classic warzone, it is between 50-60 fps; if you're playing any of the 24 player matches, which is what I normally do, I'd say it is more like 35-45 fps. It still looks great, but less players, smoother experience. There is also no aim assist in this game, so it may feel hard as all s*** to start, since it is pretty unforgiving.

I wouldn't call it a tech demo at all. Campaign took me around 9 hours on hard, and I didn't even get 50% of the collectibles. It's very old school when it comes to hand holding, as in, there isn't any. I'm used to the "go go go!" campaigns of COD and BF, so having aFPS that insists I stop, look around, and figure s*** out is refreshing. They also curbed the difficulty on one of the more frustrating bits.

MP is definitely the total package. 10 maps to start, and surprisingly, I think they're all great. Two free maps are on the way.

The streamlined the classes, so it is Scout, Assault, and Support now. Each have two ability slots, though one ability is fixed per class: scout has scanning (to tag enemies); assault has tactical shield (think Reach's bubble shield, just not a bubble); and support has revive.

For the secondary abilities, scouts can deploy a stun drone, teleport (which is amazing/hilarious/frustrating), or cloak. Assault has speed boost, stun (unlike scout, which deploys a drone which hovers and waits for people to enter to stun, assault's stun is like an instant bomb going off around you, instantly stunning enemies), and drone buddy (follows you around and shoots enemies in its vicinity. Support has air drones, turrets, spawn beacon, and supply boxes.

All weapons are available from the start, which is great, and you can have four custom load outs per class. You unlock weapon attachments and ability improvements through play.
