'Battlefield: Hardline. Arriving 2015

Well, at least they are trying to do something. They have to in a way from all the negative press. EA is making NBA for next-gen only then with Battlefield they are saying they are fixing some of the problems that have plagued the game since the inception. I also don't agree that the guy from LevelCap kisses EA's ass all the time. He's pretty honest in all his vids. It's just hard to get the feel for a whole game from one demo, so they usually get overly excited about demos when it's just one map, something new, & nothing is broke in the demo really. He's consistently since launch reported the issues in BF4 & talked about what they should do.

BF4 is better then Ghost and this will be better then Advanced Warfare.

What???

BF4 is a DISASTER. The game does not work. It has bugs that date back to BF2 that they never bothered to fix. The netcode was an absolute joke. It seems that only the most recent patch made it playable. Otherwise you were getting killed 5 seconds after you got to cover. The game still doesn't load properly. I'd say about 1 in 4 times it just hangs and forces me to reboot my console. The other day I put in the disk and it said that I needed an Xbox Live Gold account to play online.

I love the Battlefield games. I go way back to the BF1942 open beta playing Wake over and over. However these games have always been notoriously buggy. When 1942 came out it was unplayable. The lag and warping were so bad that you would fall off the ships just trying to move.

At least back in the old days they would eventually fix most of the major bugs after a few months. Now they just crank out new titles with the same old unfixed bugs. It would be bad enough to charge us for yet another new game when BF4 was so bad, but you know we'll see the same bugs in the new game.

I love Battlefield, but I'm sick of being in this abusive relationship. People who didn't game on PC and play the old games might write this off as a one time thing. Those of us who go back to BF2 and earlier know better.

I find Ghosts to be boring and played out, but at least when I start the game and jump into the multiplayer, it actually works every time. The COD netcode is way better than people give it credit for. Even the BF4 20 player TDM servers used to have terrible lag. People seem to not notice as much as it is more apparent with the run and gun nature of COD.

LOL no and BF4 works now on PS4/PC. I suggest playing it on those formats if its not working for you.

It is playable now... 6 months after release. At launch it was broken on all platforms. I don't have a PC that could run it, and I don't have a PS4, but people who did were making the same complaints as me. The multiplayer was almost impossible to get into the first month on any platform, and single player saved games were lost all the time (I never played it, not sure if they even fixed it).

As I said, I love the BF series. If there was a way to check my all time most played games, I would bet that BF1942 and BF2 would be at the top of the list by far. When you buy a BF game at launch, you are basically paying to beta test it for them. I get that there are going to be launch hiccups, but those should be patched in weeks, not months.

People just turn a blind eye to the bugs because the game is so much fun. The sound bug was in BF2... from 2005. That's nearly a decade ago and still never got fixed.

BF4 has been playable for me on X1 after 1 month, then it became unplayable again when naval strike came out but now its back to better then ever

So it has only been unplayable for a month or two... no big deal. :p

well you said "BF4 is a DISASTER. The game does not work."

which is blowing things WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of proportion

Being broken for the 1st month, plus still having major netcode issues 6 months after release is not good. Until the latest patch, the netcode has been awful in this game. Way worse than COD. I'm no big fan of COD, but when I put the game in, it actually works.

Other than Forza, BF was one of the reasons I bought a launch next-gen console. I want to love this game, but the fact that I have to wait from November to June to actually enjoy it is a huge problem.

Sorry, but when I drop $500 on a launch console, and another $60 on a launch game, I don't like having to wait a month to even try to play it.

The game is damn fun... which is why people will overlook serious faults.

BF4 used to be a disaster. But with the addition of high performance servers and squads (even if it is still in Beta) I have not really been facing any issues with it.

I MIGHT get this game. Depends on how things look closer to release date! For now, I'm having a blast with my mates in BF4.

BF4 problems were a necessary evil.. because of it EA have finally invested in brand new servers. future games will benefit as much as BF4 has right now

It shouldn't have been with BF4, maybe with BF3 or earlier. The problem that the BF games have had have seemed to be the same though out each game, hence they should have been rectified by BF4.

What?

The game is not a disaster, works very well, and totally destroys Ghosts. I've been playing BF4 since day, and have been enjoying it.

I'm not sure the condition on xb1, but it was very playable on pc, and even playable on ps4, even though ps4 had issues immediately with conquest.

That and Frostbite 3. BF4 was a huge technical undertaking on a new engine, and quite a few others have (hopefully) benefited from an integrated technical basis. With Hardline not attempting anything particularly new in terms of technical stuff, it should be better than BF3 or 4. Should be.

Do people not remember the first month of this game? It was horribly buggy, enough that people were demanding refunds and the internet was filled with people complaining (more than just the usual). They even had to give a map pack for free to smooth things over.

The netcode was awful up until recently, at least on X1. I heard lots of complaints from other platforms, and I know the big netcode patch was on all platforms. On X1, anything more than 20 person TDM was too laggy to play. The game sat on my shelf for a month before it was even remotely playable.

I do remember all the complaints of the bugs, but I was on pc, and pc was very playable and fun from day 1. It was also playable on PS4, even though we couldn't play large conquest initially.

I never played it on XB1, so I can't comment, but on pc, I was playing from day 1.

I got signed up for the beta about an hour or so ago but no email yet. I guess that means I didn't get in. No big tho, been watching some streams and it's just a BF4 expansion for the most part.

On X1 all that worked was TDM. Rush was so-so at best and Conquest didn't even work IIRC. I didn't buy BF4 to play TDM obviously (although it did grow on me). I didn't remember these issues being specific to X1, I thought it was PS4 as well.

Here's an article from PC gamer on the issues:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/11/04/b...ues-connection-errors-glitches-dodgy-netcode/

There were certainly issues, never said there wasn't....but the game was very playable. I was playing....a lot.

Weird, it showed me as signed up earlier, even showed me all the stuff I'd get in-game when it launched.

Then just now I went to sign up again and it actually had everything filled out and thanked me again for signing up, only this time using my userID in the thank you page.

So maybe I still have a shot. Not gonna lose sleep over it, but I would like to give the new game mode(s) a play to see what they're like.

So, who has played the BETA ? I downloaded it last night (PC) but was too tired, so I did not play it. Looking forward to trying it out later today.

In my opinion this game looks f***ing horrible. It shouldn't have the Battlefield name attached to it; it should be a new IP. Obviously they kept the name for free sales. I'll try the beta but damn...

Ok, so have played several games of the BETA now, and eh. Gunplay, controls, movement are all Battlefield. Vehicles handle fine. but this sort of thing, for me, is not battlefield. It is just one big clusterf*** of action. No strategy needed. No thinking required. The Environment is not expansive enough for me. The game mode is basic, and as others have said, just a re-skinned rush with some objective mobility tossed in.

To me, battlefield is not about this CQB urban combat. Vehicles should not just be a way from A to B quickly. This series really has lost its way, and the glory days of 1942 and BF2 look to never return:(:( I am done with BF.

i was actually hoping this focused on the CQC.. like the Close Quarters DLC in BF3.. but no, this is nowhere near a CQC BF game lol i wish it was

it would be a great rotation, one year a big battlefield game with vehicle focus then the other year is a more close quarters BF game that has incredibly detailed small/medium maps with great pathways and flanking oopurtunity

really i just want a full version of BF3 Close quarters dlc. opportunity to have a different class too other then engineer. BF will never be like COD since the gun play is million times better so it annoys me when people say any BF game/server that has no vehicles is just COD

If this game had something different, like -say- parkour- I'd be more interested. Other than that its generic cops fragging generic robbers.
