This flipping game. I bought it yesterday for $5 and somehow it feels new to me. Everything feels improved and even the soundtrack gives it a whole new feel to it. At firs I too was burned out but then I caved in and went to see the difference and it lies in the little things that I enjoy. Really great version. The seeds are magnificent here if not weird. I spawned in a jungle like area with swampy grass and such. I decided to climb a via vines to get a better picture of where to go. The panorama was weird. On one side I had a desert plain, on the other were snow capped hills. Da. Fook.

Wait a minute ! Are you saying you can climb those vines that grow off the trees ? I didn't know that.

No. They are. My imported games are 36 times in size. The size is applied if your world has not been fully discovered.

Odd, ours that were imported were not full discovered and are not 36x.

That is odd. My three imported saves look the same size as my new saves. You can go past the boundaries of the map as well, or so I've been told.

I smashed my boat into the invisible wall in the ocean, was pretty disappointed. I'll probably focus on new seeds.

I should be playing my Madden season, or backlog games... but instead I'm digging holes.

It may sound weird, but getting to a high vantage point looked really cool.

edit: Square holes no less.

Been playing this a lot.

I set up homebase next to this vast "natural" cave system. It's just endless and full of monsters but i been clearing a lot of em out.

Question: How does one get Gold and Diamonds?

Just keep going lower. You will find both eventually.

I was playing some co-op with my daughter last night and she went off to do some exploring out of the area of my map. She then created a new map for the area she was in and started running around to uncover the lay of the land.

We then compared maps and found that about a 1/3rd of her map was identical to mine! Hopefully this is not something that will be a regular occurrence. I'd really hate for these worlds to be 36x larger than the 360 version only because it repeats the chunk you start out in.

The size of the large maps compared to the 360 maps is just amazing. I spent about 2-3 hours just running most of the time and only covered a small percent of the whole thing.

I wonder what the sales are like on the next gen consoles now....think they sold a million+ yet?

Since don`t have Xbox One and got a Ps4 I will wait for ps4 version to become cheap.
Upgrade from Xbox 360 to Ps4 version is not possible after what I read.

Yeah I know. I wish it was, somehow. Oh well, the 360 version was fine. I don't mind having a small world, personally.

I know this is an absurd question to ask at this point but what is the Minecraft experience like at this point? Is is intense? Is it a multiplayer experience? Strategic? I know you build stuff but I have no idea if I'd enjoy this game.

It's almost a "sim". There are not any random servers, so you can't just go into matchmaking. You need to play with friends. Once you hook up with friends, or find people on forums that you can add as a friend, you can start looking at your recent players list to see if any of the games you played with friends had randoms....and if they have randoms, you can try to join them.

It is building and digging, and their is survival (attacks by zombies, spiders). I think most people just work in groups of 8 and just simulate life, farms, reproduce landmarks, find ingredients to build and create more inventory.

There is not a campaign, and there is a "free roam" in creative mode that lets you turn off all threats, fly anywhere you want and just build to your hearts content.

It's a survival and crafting game with a strong dose of digital Legos.

Sony has announced it will sell Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition in disc form from 3rd October 2014.

The block building sandbox has been available on PS4 digitally since the beginning of the month. Earlier this week Xbox maker Microsoft announced it had bought Minecraft developer Mojang in a $2.5bn deal - but it pledged to continue to support the franchise on competing platforms such as PlayStation.

The PS4 port is the work of long-standing Minecraft console specialist 4J Studios, and features worlds 36 times bigger than those in the PS3 version. You can import PS3 saves to the PS4 Edition, too.

"Also, to ensure you have the best Minecraft experience possible on the PS4, be on the look out for a day one patch available on 3rd October," Sony Computer Entertainment Europe product manager Kimberley Piper-Bowles warned in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

But what of the PS Vita version, which is still without a release date?

"For those waiting for the PS Vita Edition, we'll have more information on this in a few weeks and will include full details on how the Cross-Buy works between the PS3 and PS Vita Editions," Piper-Bowles said.

It looks like Sony is preparing for the imminent removal of Minecraft from PSN in the coming years. This is why I love discs.

MS would be crazy to remove it from PSN if it's making money. Do that s*** with the series and PC gamers may also rebel on the game when the next one comes out thinking game is now a sell out game and they won't support it.

Why would it be crazy? Wouldn't that just be all the more reason to make it exclusive?

To risk the PC community seeing the game as a sell out game and not buying the new one? No that is a bad thing.

MS have said they will continue to support non MS platforms.

They will probably just receive stuff later.
