Official Thread Bloodborne

IDK, I wanted different characters and since there is no magic/bows I wanted to have one that could kill with a gun and also wreck face with the Chikage. With Bone marrow Ash I am able to do a lot of dmg. Almost high level spell dmg. The one time I was invaded I took half the hp from an invader with one shot. He healed and I loaded another BMA and shot him again and hit him twice with melee and he was dead. That was with the starting pistol.

Damn you fools and your super high levels already. I need to find more time to play this game but I like to play it in darkness only which limits me to maybe 2 hours a night when I'm not dead tired.

picked up Dark Souls 2 upgrade for 20 bucks. I didn't realize how different BB feels until now. Seems to me that BB is more responsive and much more forgiving when it comes to stamina. I can only get a 3 hit combo in DS2 and then my stamina seems to take forever to come back which really makes the ganks tougher to deal with. DS2 with the new enemies in diff areas and the slower pace sure makes it feel a lot harder. I am dying early on a lot. Need to remember I cannot play it like I play BB.

I was literally about to write this exact post.

Nice! Yeah, I am slowly getting my mojo back. They did a wonderful job of making BB feel like it's own thing. I did not fully realize this until I played them back to back. Each game does different things better. I like that in DS2 you can hop off a ladder if needed, teleport from bonfire to bonfire, have a variety of criticals instead of just one visceral attack(although it never gets old in BB, lol), etc. There are more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. The loading is magical though. Happy with my purchase and I will be playing both for a while, while also juggling Diablo 3 with the new awesome patch coming. Happy gaming guys.

I don't know if you know this but the spiders die in 1-2 hits if you hit them from behind. The first time I beat Rom, I just ignored the spiders, I did not lock on to Rom and hit him twice with the cane, rolled, rinse and repeat. When he began the second phase I just ran or rolled in one direction. The second time I beat him, I murdered all spiders before engaging. Also, if you don't know, he takes about 1/3 dmg when you hit his head.

Thanks for the tip beat him finally what a pain in the ass that was. Funny thing was said prey vanquished and then I died I was like WTF but it counted when I came back I got the cutscenes.

I love how these games work, leveling up your skills is much more important than leveling your character. the first time I faced BSB he was so tough, with my third character who was actually 10 levels lower than my previous character BSB was a cakewalk. Never even got to do a second swing as I just stood in it's face and parry the first move over and over until it died,

Yeah absolutely. BB is like Sonic when compared to dark Souls. I just got to Majula and my character left wooden and clumsy compared to the BB hunter. I've never had two From Software games to play at the same time before. I'm like a kid in a candy store at the moment. I wonder if you can spec a DS character to be as fast and nimble as a hunter?

You can parry boss moves with the pistol? Haven't actually tried that. And now that I think of it I do remember doing a devastating attack on the second boss that tool one third of his health. That may have been a parry attack

Yep, I think that you can get a visceral attack on any boss. Some require shots to the head to stun and others attacks to their front legs for example. Smaller ones can be parried like any common enemy like BSB.

I don't think so, it's just a slower pace game, I don't use a shield in Dark/Demons Souls anymore but they are just not quite as fast. You can still be pretty quick with a low equip burden,

Made some good progress yesterday.
I got through
Shadow of Yharnam, Amelia, and Rod. Going after the witch next.

Amazing game. Really makes me rethink how action RPG's should be.

Beat the Witch last night. First try was the night before; I had no idea a boss was even in the area, so I wasn't expecting a fight. I got her down to less than a quarter health on 2nd bar, and then she trapped me and then went my entire health bar.

Tried again last night. I'd say easiest fight so far. I liked it though because it was completely different than the other boss fights I've experienced.

I ended up beating Henryk as well, but he killed Eileen unfortunately, so her quest line is dead with her.

Game is awesome.

This is an unhealthy obsession. On my morning commute (carpool!) I'm reading articles on this game and it just makes me angry I can't be playing it. Fuuuuuuu

I can relate. Any free time I have during the day is spent plotting my next move in the game.

Completed the game, finished the boss on my 2nd try was close, but are more endings and was missing something sow will either start ng+ or make a new character. Also had left a few bosses
2nd end boss I read about that I need to get , some dungeon bosses and Ebrietas, tried hard to kill her, got she down in around 20 % health, but she got way to aggressive and used Arcane magic all the time

I suck at this game. Played about 6 hours so far and am level 1 and haven't even found the 1st boss yet.

Tried the game on Ng+ had two co-op partners, but both had return to their own world when I entered the boss fight, sow got slaughtered by the boss.

I'm also really bad at the game but getting better. I would suggest taking your time exploring and memorizing enemy locations and then working on turning in echoes to level up. I spent a lot of time at the starting area killing enemies so I could get a few upgrades into health and endurance. If you're a Souls vet then I guess you already know what to do so disregard my rookie suggestions.

I found something that does the battle with first boss much easier, if it is Cleric beast it is talk about :

With the first lamp "Central Yharnam" there is a locked gate, when you receive the bell (you need collect one insight, should get this by using madmans knowledge, found around the sewer area, then to hunters dream do pick up the bell next to the doll)there will be a circle there just next to the first enemy behind the gate.
Stand inside this circle and use the bell then you will be summoning a npc and together this fight will be very easy, for me the npc I summoned took most of the damage.

Also could be a good time to level up when you have one Insight, health, stamina and strength I use to level up first.

Edit: added some more details.
