Playtime for those that finished the game?

About 44 hours on my first, with new character I have now I think gone use more time, gone try complete more of the Chalice Dungeons.

Sigh, couldn't find this game anywhere. I checked online & cannot get any new if it has been released here (supposedly on 25 March). Oh well....

You are from Germany right ? I think I remember you said in sales thread:

Here:

https://www.coolshop.de/produkt/bloodborne/BK7248

Should have free shipping ( I do understand a bit of it as was learning German in school a few years , not too good at it, but remember a few words)

I can't figure out how the save works in this thing. I keep getting further, but that is after I die. But I keep starting out back at the same spot having to fight all the way through again. What I am doing wrong. It's like the game doesn't remember where I died and puts me back at the Yarman lamp.

Have you activated a new lamp after Yarman lamp? Then just use the lamp to get to Hunters dream and from Hunters dream get to your new lamp.

I don't think I have, and I don't know how to activate a lamp?

There are multiple lamps to activate. You also have to open the shortcuts. If you don't bother with shortcuts the game will be much harder.

The third lamp can feel pretty far away until you realize all of the shortcuts. I recommend after beating or even seeing the first boss just to farm and slowly level up. What's cool is anything you open or unlock stays that way even if you die.

Thanks guys! I think I got the shortcut idea down. I just opened the gate to the left of the Yharman lamp, and that helps a lot. You guys rock.

As said above there is many lamps, activate by X, should tell when you are close to the lamp.
And shortcuts have to use, there is a shortcut close to the Central Yarman lamp, a locked gate that will be able to open to get back to the lamp.

Also one advice, can try run past enemies to unlock the shortcuts or lamps, I do this more the 2nd time around, just running and unlocking whatever I can before I start killing enemies.

They need to patch the game so you can travel from lamp to lamp instead of always having to go back to hunters dream.

I live in Germany to be more precise. I think the German version normally have

'Nur auf Playstation', instead of 'Only on Playstation' on top of the box

So it may affect resales at gamestop. Not sure they accept foreign copies. Thanks for the link, but I think I just wait. I think it could be sold out.

I need to spend LESS time gaming anyway. LOL.

Finally got around to beating Gascoigne. Took me 4 tries, ended up kinda cheesing it and using a tree as a shield.

I can't beat Ebrietas for S**t! I've tried solo and co-op. My helper always ends up getting one shotted. This is driving me insane.

I'm guessing the elevator is the next super shortcut, right after the one you just unlocked and past the two trolls.

Are lamps hidden? I never see any other than the main one I have been spawning at in Yharnman. (or however you spell it).

The game is a pain in the butt, and it is hard, but it is very satisfying.

Yeah, but I can't move the switch yet :(
You will have to enter the elevator from the other side of it first to access it from where the trolls are.

In regards to getting to the second boss last night:

What a dick this guy is. I got him down to when he transforms into a werewolf and then he just bashed me over and over before I could get up and roll out of the way to heal. Same thing the second time except maybe at half health. The third time I got him to transform again then he did a half screen leap attack and killed me in one hit from near full health. He won't be so lucky tonight. Anyways, honestly most of my deaths from bosses are being knocked down and not able to get up and out of the way fast enough.

Boss Lamps are hidden until kills the bosses.
Also when you get to new areas you find new lamps, this after 2nd boss (or 1st boss if chose to skip the Cleric Beast).

Thanks you two. I haven't got to a boss yet, so I guess it will all make sense soon. Thank you again!

I think there is only one lamp for each area. I think the second lamp shows itself once you beat the first boss. It seems like each area of this game is sort of like a puzzle that you must unravel. There are shortcuts and locations off the beaten path that must be discovered. I'm in Old Yarhnam now and I pretty much explored the whole location and at first it seemed pretty big but now that I've unlocked a shortcut I can pretty much run straight to the boss who is really kicking my tail. You have to replay sections over and over again which increases your knowledge of the maze like sections as well as letting you know of enemy types and locations.

I found that
when he turns into a beast it's better if you stay closer to him and parry his attacks with your firearm for a visceral attack. Get too far away from him and he will do that leap/pound attack.

No it isn't. This is probably the hardest game I've played but also really fun. It took me a while to leave Central Yarhnam. Took a while for things to click and I'm sure there are still things I'll learn as I progress. But I really like the level design of having to find shortcuts and hidden areas. I wish these guys would be given the opportunity to make a Castlevania game.
