Battlefield 4 running on X1 ... and PS4

It was in the thread that got closed. the one specifically about the DF comparison seems like an even split of ppl is utter disbelief that the X1 version looks better to their eye and ppl clinging to the metrics as if that's what matters.
That'd presumably be done by the color depth getting adjusted on the fly, which is a utility of the display planes.
On Gamersyde too I see people saying PS4 is clearly the better one. I show them the clearly muddy texture on a PS4 shot and they just ignore it and start comparing the anti aliasing. sigh. Aside from anti-aliasing I barely see differences in several videos now. Yeah...sometimes an edge for X1.
I don't get Jack Frags. He said the MP footage on PS4 is better looking that X1 SP..i watched several videos of both and I really don't see where he's getting that from. Textures, details, sharpness, lighting, it's all nicer on the SP videos quite clearly. So yeah...I don't get him.

Watched some more MP footage and I actually saw jaggies. I wish we had X1 MP footage too. But I honestly do not understand what he's talking about.
Both versions have pros and cons but look about equal. PC version still looks the best. When you're actually playing the game and not watching a comparison video trying to find the slightest differences then you won't notice anything but that the game looks good.
Well in fairness he is actually playing the game. Stills and Youtube are great and all, but not the same thing.
clinging to resolution and metrics to say that the picture is techinically better, and attacking DF for being pro MS,same with Polygon apparently. But that's just what I hear from other people.
Yeah I guess, but MP footage has never looked better than MP...so I don't think I will agree with him. I guess he didn't play MP on X1, i'm gonna go ahead and assume it will look identical to PS4 MP.
Also on Gsyde they keep bringing up that GAF says the washed out look is completely gone with the right contrast setting. Riiiiiiight ahaha...yeah a changed contrast setting will make a washed out TEXTURE clear again. Wow.

IGN has their footage up. I didn't see much of a difference at all between them. It's not like the X1 is stick figures running around while the PS4 is like a pixar movie.

Texture clarity goes to texture filtering issue. It will not be alleviated by fixing sharpness.
Nice to finally see MP. I can only spot more aliasing on X1 and i think that's about it. But if Jack Frags finds THAT much better looking than X1 campaign......eh........how?
Maybe we can put that to rest now, now that we know it ourselves.
Yeah, no way it looks better than SP, that aliasing though...looks pretty bad.
In the campaign? Been watching several videos now...both JackFrags videos, Digital Foundry AND IGN and i really don't see the aliasing all that bad, more so in the MP.
I don't ever notice AA when playing games lol...only in videos or pictures. But yeah higher native rez def. helping ps4 in that regard.
Goes on to prove my point right? I mean sharpness does matter, but with this one it was a little more than that. I thought so, at least. Add a little bit more anisotrophic filtering to PC, and then the clarity will get closer.
