Multiplatform Graphics Discussion [OT]

2GB updates every week, no games you want to play, crashing OS every time you use it, terrible graphics, worse controller, worthless Kinect, not enough delayed to 2016 games etc etc..

You didn't mention the Chlamydia it gave him...

Depends what a gamer wants in a shooter. Better res or better performance. For twitchy gaming, I'll take performance.

Too bad for Sony gamers, Sony seems to be pushing PS4 games to hit 1080p at all costs. Only a small number of games (probably 10 or less) are less than 1080p.

If devs used the extra power of PS4 to bump up the graphics, frame rate, animation transitions, loading times etc..... by matching res to X1, the difference would be more pronounced and affect gaming more positively.

But what you get is the PS4 game sometimes having a res bump, but do to the nature of give and takes, the X1 game can also have advantages too countering PS4.

If res were matched, PS4 "should" pretty much have a 100% advantage in all graphics and gameplay as the extra power could be directed to graphics and gameplay as opposed to extra pixel count. But looking at many games where res is matched, devs aren't even utilizing the extra 30% tflops to make the PS4 game better. It's like they just set both platform's games to 1080p, tweak a bit and ship it as "good enough".

Oh well.

PS4 version was butter smooth. 50-60 fps is still going to give you that smooth experience. I bet most here wouldn't even notice the drop if not told.

So Xbox one gets better performance and PS4 gets better visuals in this beta. Easy win there. Performance > graphics.

Depends. If the performance is near the same and not noticible. It's like on PC, a game running at 1080p 55fps with settings maxed is more preferable than a game running at 70fps, 900p with settings lowered.

I played the bo3 beta, and also play bo2 on 360. I honesty, and I'm not saying it because some of you perceive me to be a fanboy, felt bo3 was just as butter smooth as bo2, which was 60fps. We're talking 50-60 fps here, not 30-40.

Even on PC, games will occasionally dip below 60 fps.

Kinda like when visuals are near the same and not noticeable.

Yep. In certain games...it's exactly like that. Did you miss me telling Val the same thing about visuals in another thread?
I said:
The differences are minor.

with that said, depending on the screen you're playing on, those visual differences between "certain" games will be more noticeable than "mostly" 60 fps vs solid 60 fps. I game on a pc monitor, so anything sub 1080p is noticeable to me.

with that said, I don't think sub 1080p is a deal breaker, but neither is 55 vs 60 fps. It's a freaking wash. Claiming one is better than the other because it had to lower resolution and present muddier visuals just to squeeze out literally a handful of fps is not really a "win". As a PC gamer, I'm always willing to bump up my visuals, even if it means losing a handful of fps, but truly, it doesn't make a difference. It's not like 30fps vs 60fps.

I know xbox fans want to claim a win here, but even the guys that did the comparison that the xbox fans are touting as their basis for a win, said the following:
On balance, at this point in time, the PS4's mostly stable 60fps and native 1080p visuals look to provide the best overall experience

Comgratation to XBox to add another 1080p game, that is not sport, racing, Indie, or a remaster to the library.

Oh wait, its a remaster.

Who cares right, gameplay is king.....

Add to the list:

Transformers Devastation is 1080p on Xbox One
Mad Max is 1080p on Xbox One

Not sports, not racing, not remasters, not indies....

DC is a 1st gen game and STILL got praise for its visuals.

F6 is the 3rd game they made on the XBO and as Forza 5 had dated card board cutout graphics so does Forza 6.....

Xbox One can't handle good visuals 1080p/60fps without making compromises.

We really still on this cardboard cut out crap? All those nice visuals in Forza 5 and this is what people concentrated on. All the nice visuals in Forza 6 and you are going to do the same? Lame, bro. Very lame.

Odd. My copy of Forza 6 has 3D crowds. Glad we didn't get yours lol.

Where are the F6 cardboard cutouts? You are ok with sh1tty visuals with a playstation 1st gen game (DC) but you are not ok and posting videos of a first gen MS game (Forza5). Explain that.

Apparently by this logic ps4 games can't handle 1080p 30fps without compromises.

DC looks great.
Forza 6 uses the same card board cutouts as F5. Didn't you play the demo?

Yes in a thread about graphics card board cutout graphics have returned with Forza 6.
Lame is being in this thread if you don't like this kind of talk.
